About Chinese Cafe & Restaurant

Chinese Cafe & Restaurant is located at 1801 Main St Unit 102 in Washougal, Washington, 98671. This establishment serves Chinese cuisine to the local community and can be contacted at (360) 835-8860 or via their mobile number +1 360-835-8860 for inquiries or to place orders.

Based on recent online reviews, customer experiences at Chinese Cafe & Restaurant appear to be significantly negative, highlighting concerns regarding food quality, service, and hygiene. One customer detailed a highly unsatisfactory experience with a takeout order. Upon arriving home after a 20-minute drive, they found that the food containers had leaked, resulting in a "greasy mess" all over the inside of the bag and their car seat. This customer also reported the absence of utensils and napkins in their order, despite spending over $20 on the meal. Furthermore, they mentioned that the Kung Pao chicken was excessively greasy, leading to stomach discomfort after consuming only a small portion, prompting them to discard the rest. This reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction with the overall experience, citing poor food quality and service, especially considering the perceived high prices. They stated they would not return to the restaurant.

Another, even more alarming review described a deeply disturbing dining experience on Christmas Day. A customer, who identified themselves as a manager at Golden Corral with experience in handling customer complaints, recounted a family dinner where their stepdaughter allegedly pulled a fingernail from her mouth halfway through the meal. They stated that they brought this to the attention of the manager, intending to give the restaurant a chance to comp their meal. However, they reported that the manager quickly discarded the nail and returned from the kitchen denying that anyone in the kitchen had lost a nail. The reviewer emphasized that the nail was a noticeable size, making it unlikely for someone to lose it without realizing. The management reportedly offered to comp two of the meals, but the customer's father, who had paid, gave them an ultimatum: either he pays full price and the family leaves a review detailing the incident, or the entire meal is comped. The reviewer expressed disgust at the situation, implying a lack of care from the kitchen staff regarding hygiene and questioning the management's handling of the serious complaint. They concluded by stating their intention to never eat at the restaurant again due to concerns about food safety and integrity.

Given these two recent and detailed negative reviews, it is challenging to provide a positive introduction to Chinese Cafe & Restaurant for local users based solely on this information. The feedback raises significant red flags concerning the quality of food preparation, the handling of takeout orders, and, most seriously, the potential for hygiene issues within the kitchen and the management's response to such critical incidents.

There is no information available in these reviews regarding the restaurant's environment or any specific features that might be considered positive. The focus of the feedback is overwhelmingly on negative aspects of the food and service. Similarly, no promotional information is mentioned in these reviews.

For local users in Washougal, WA, who are considering Chinese Cafe & Restaurant, it is crucial to be aware of these recent customer experiences. The reports of greasy and poorly prepared food, coupled with the extremely concerning account of a foreign object found in the food and the subsequent management response, should give potential diners pause. These reviews suggest a lack of quality control in the kitchen and potentially inadequate food safety practices.

Without any positive feedback to balance these serious allegations, it would be irresponsible to recommend this restaurant based on the provided information. Potential customers might want to seek more recent reviews from other sources to get a broader picture of the current state of Chinese Cafe & Restaurant. It would also be advisable to consider other Chinese dining options in the Washougal area that have received more positive and consistent feedback regarding food quality, service, and hygiene.

In conclusion, the recent online reviews for Chinese Cafe & Restaurant in Washougal, WA, paint a concerning picture. Reports of greasy and poorly prepared food, mishandled takeout orders, and a serious alleged hygiene issue within the food preparation process are significant concerns that potential customers should be aware of. Based on this information alone, it is difficult to recommend this establishment to local users.

Well, if you would like a bag of greasy spilt food all over when you arrive home with no Utensils, then this is the place for you. Unbelievable! I guess business owner must not have any quality control...i place an order picked it up to take to a 12 hour shift and when i arrived at work 20 minute trip the containers they use leaked! All over inside the cheap bag on my car seat! NOT OK! I SPENT OVER $20 ON A MEAL that was a greasy mess! No napkins no fork just a big greasy mess! Oh and the time it took to clean it all up... wont be back to this place EVER AGAIN! also better add all that grease that was used in cooking kung pao chicken made it not so great in tummy town and that was only 1/4 of it i tossed the rest glad i did. What has happened to businesses anymore they tripled the prices and give you crap food and crap service and still expect tips!..

Hi , my name is Blake I’m a manager at Golden Corral so if you eat out some of you may know me. Obviously I deal with many customer complaints but I’ve never experienced this . Me and my family went to dinner with my dad here for dinner on Christmas Day and half way through the meal my step daughter pulled a finger nail from her mouth . We showed the manager before taking a photo because I was nice enough to give a chance to comp our meal since we weren’t going to finish . Instead the manager quickly discarded the nail and came back from the kitchen claiming nobody had nails in there . None of had nails , plus it was like half a nail . It would have been very hard to miss losing a finger nail that big . They tried to give us two of our meals free , since my dad had paid for us , he gave them the option he pays full price and never comes back , and we leave a review about the finger nail my step daughter could have choked on and how disgusting it is that she had someone’s nail in her mouth , or give us the meal for free . But Mary Christmas to us. It wasn’t right . So I’d be careful here , their cooks don’t seem to care when their nails fall out because there is no way they couldn’t have noticed , and their management really thinks that anyone would cut off their nail for a free meal on Christmas . I have money and a manager a restaurant I would never try to get a free meal if it wasn’t the right thing . So disgusting . I won’t eat here again as a protest of integrity and because I’m worried what else could end up in the food .

First time trying this Chinese American restaurant. They have lots on the menu. This is a traditional American Chinese. Don't expect authentic taste. The owners and cooks are Chinese but they cook and flavor the food for American taste. I wasn't very pleased with the taste. I'd rather have real traditional Chinese food. They do give you lots of food for the combo meal. The service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. So if you are looking for real authentic Chinese food you are not going to find it here.

Hey my name is Jasmine. I came to this restaurant trying to have a nice Christmas dinner with my mom, her boyfriend, my siblings and my mom’s boyfriend’s dad. Half way our meal my little sister found a nail in her meal, I asked nicely to discount our meal or to not make us pay for the whole thing. They seemed not to care at all. My mom’s boyfriend is THE manager of golden coral. He himself said that he discounts the whole meal when something like this happens and I also work at a restaurant and WEAR GLOVES. We also don’t charge if they ever find a nail or hair in their meals. Anyways… She discarded the nail situation and tried to JUST discount 2 meals. I don’t think it is fair. My mom’s boyfriend’s dad payed for the ENTIRE THING. The manager doesn’t even know how to manage and tried to blame it on us and thought we had cut OUR nails and put it in the food none of us had long nails… it is very disgusting. Just imagine chewing a strangers long nail while you’re trying to enjoy your meal.
