We ordered a variety of items of the menu they were all really good but the best part is how it’s a gem of a place hidden in plain sight. We sat on the balcony and the atmosphere was just a dream. You can see a lil bit of history on the walls with all the black and white historical time captured moments as you walk up to be seated. Let them find you on the street as you walk on by and be v led to a lovely experience.
Welcome to the birth place of Chinese food as we know it in the United States! This is an authentic experience, with quality ingredients, generous portions, and friendly service. Our Dim Sum for 2 was under $100 (with automatic tip + rice wine + complimentary green tea ice cream). This is a local favorite for a reason 🥰 Tourists - if this seems steep, welcome to California. We care about our amazing service workers and we want them properly compensated for the love they put into the fresh cuisine they share with us 💗 the price reflects. Happy Lunar New Year to all who celebrate 🐍
Chinatown Restaurant was an amazing find! Gloria welcomed us in with such warmth and made sure we had a fantastic experience. The staff was extremely friendly, and the service was top-notch. The food was delicious, with generous portions—perfect for sharing. Plus, we were surprised with a few complimentary appetizers, which made our meal even more special. The hospitality here is unmatched, and we left feeling truly taken care of. Highly recommend if you’re in San Francisco’s Chinatown!
Gloria pulled us off the main street and rescued us from our hangry search for lunch. Family style Chinese food. We had General Tso Chichen, chow mein, pork dumplings, tea, and ice cream. The food was so yummy. The staff very friendly. But best of all were the photos along the wall. I remember going here as a kid but never thought I’d be able to find it as an adult. I’m so happy they have a person on the main strip letting people know it’s here.!
We visited San Francisco for the first time 2 weeks ago and (since I'm dumpling obsessed) had to try some Chinese places. A friend recommended this place and as we approached we were greeted by a super friendly, bubbly girl named Gloria who immediately handed us coupons and led us to the restaurant, complimenting us all the way there. She's clearly in the role she was born for, since we witnessed her guiding several others in the same manner. When we got to our table she gave us warm wipes for our hands and disposed of them for us, and before we could even blink, we had free appetizers placed in front of us. We ordered general Tso chicken and the Shanghai dumplings, both of which were the best we have ever had. The chicken was somehow crispy and soft?! So good. The dumplings were heavenly. As we finished up, they gave us free green tea ice cream and the owner checked on us. He told me a story about how the dumplings are made and we spoke at length about life. He seems very eager to share wisdom and was so sweet. They gave us A GIFT BAG. Seriously, a real gift bag with some snacks and packed toothbrush 😅 Everyone was so sweet, genuinely the best hospitality I have ever received! Ran into Gloria on her way out and she gave us a hug. This was honestly a huge highlight of our trip and I reccomend it to anyone! I'm salivating looking back at the photos and I wish I were local so I could become a regular 😭
