Welcome to Chinatown Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant located at 18 N Main St, Fond du Lac, WI 54935, USA. Based on recent customer feedback, Chinatown Kitchen appears to offer both a buffet and takeout service. One review from April 8, 2025, at 4:00 PM, describes a positive experience with a "filled" buffet and "good food" during a quiet time, resulting in a five-star rating initially. This suggests that the restaurant offers a buffet option with a variety of dishes available. However, the same reviewer later revised their rating to one star due to an experience with a cashier who was reportedly sneezing and appeared to have a cold, raising concerns about hygiene. This highlights the importance of health and safety practices in food service establishments.

Another review provides further insight into the restaurant's current setup. It indicates that Chinatown Kitchen has "pretty much got rid of most of the indoor seating for fresh ordering & only have seating for the buffet area." This suggests a shift in focus towards a more streamlined operation, potentially emphasizing takeout and the buffet service. Customers looking to dine in may find that seating is primarily available in the buffet area.

The same reviewer who opted for takeout mentioned that the food was "good tasting" and "still hot" despite a drive to deliver some to family. This suggests that Chinatown Kitchen maintains a certain standard of food quality and takes measures to ensure the food remains warm for takeout orders. This is a positive aspect for customers who prefer to enjoy their meals at home.

In terms of parking, the review notes the availability of "3 parking spots on the back reserved for this restaurant customers without charge." This is a significant convenience for customers visiting Chinatown Kitchen. Additionally, free parking is reportedly available anywhere during the weekend, while weekday parking is paid. This information is valuable for customers planning to visit the restaurant, as it provides clarity on parking options and potential costs.

Considering the features of Chinatown Kitchen, the availability of a buffet is a significant aspect. Buffets typically offer a wide selection of dishes, allowing customers to sample various options and eat at their own pace. The positive initial review regarding the buffet suggests that it can be a satisfying experience when well-maintained and during less busy hours. The shift towards more limited indoor seating outside the buffet area indicates that the buffet might be a primary feature of the dine-in experience currently offered.

The option for "fresh ordering" and takeout is another key feature. This caters to customers who prefer specific dishes made to order or who wish to enjoy their meals off-site. The positive feedback on the taste and temperature of the takeout food suggests that Chinatown Kitchen handles takeout orders effectively.

Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Restaurants often utilize various promotional strategies to attract customers, such as lunch specials, discounts for certain days or times, or special offers for holidays. To obtain information about any current promotions at Chinatown Kitchen, it would be best to contact them directly at the provided phone numbers or check if they have any online presence, such as a website or social media pages, where promotions might be advertised.

In summary, Chinatown Kitchen in Fond du Lac, WI, offers a Chinese buffet and takeout services. The restaurant has adjusted its indoor seating, with most seating now likely concentrated in the buffet area. While one customer initially praised the buffet food and experience during a quiet time, a subsequent concern was raised about hygiene practices. Another customer found the takeout food to be tasty and well-prepared for transport. A notable convenience is the availability of three free parking spots for customers behind the restaurant, with free parking available city-wide on weekends. For the most up-to-date information on their menu, hours, and any ongoing promotions, it is recommended to contact Chinatown Kitchen directly at (920) 923-9688 or +1 920-923-9688.

4/8/25 It was 4:00 PM, a quiet time: buffet filled, good food, nobody to bother. Was five (5) stars. BUT ... The cashier had a cold and kept sneezing all over instead of staying home. NOW, It's 9:00 PM, and my turn to be sneezing. Result: 1 (one star)!!!

This was the first time I have been to this restaurant in 20 years, because i had moved away from the area. They pretty much got rid of most of the indoor seating for fresh ordering & only have seating for the buffet area. I got my order to go, & it was good tasting food still hot even though i had a little ways to drive to give some to my wife & kids. There are 3 parking spots on the back reserved for this restaurant customers without charge, free parking anywhere during the weekend. Otherwise it's paid parking during the weekdays.

This is my second time here. The first time was late at night, and the food was not fresh. This time, the food was good. Lady taking care of was always moving, taking care of us. She was very professional and always trying to help. The sesame balls were excellent, as was the beef chopsuey.

Decided to come to the buffet and see if it’s any good and I found out the simple answer is no got to the buffet and there was nothing fresh out and when they did have something it was literally minimal so I stayed there thinking maybe some new food would come out…. Wrong again unfortunately for $30 for two people the least they could do is have fresh or even really any decent food out only thing I got that was new and warm was wontons and I stayed there for atleast a hour waiting for more food to be put out…. I’d recommend Panda Express over this

After going to China King in Oshkosh, and living in Fond du Lac. I figured on giving this place a try, and I’m kinda disappointed. Not many food options to choose from, some things could’ve been cooked more. The atmosphere is dull and boring. Last time I’ll be going. So save your money and head to Oshkosh for Chinese food with much more food options.
