About Chinatown Kitchen

Chinatown Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant located at 450 60th St in West New York, New Jersey. Serving the local community, Chinatown Kitchen operates within the Chinese restaurant category and offers a menu catering to various tastes, including a notable selection of vegan options. Customers can place orders or make inquiries by calling (201) 868-0630 or +1 201-868-0630. Based on the limited customer feedback available online, Chinatown Kitchen appears to offer flavorful food that has garnered both long-term loyalty and enthusiastic praise, although some inconsistencies have been noted.

One long-time customer, who had been frequenting Chinatown Kitchen for years and consistently ordered chicken wings with pork fried rice, initially considered it their favorite spot, praising the delicious cooking. However, this loyal patron recently expressed significant disappointment due to a perceived change in the quality of the chicken wings. They reported that the wings had become "extremely small" with "absolutely NO MEAT," leading to their decision not to return. This feedback highlights a potential issue with the consistency of ingredient quality or portion sizes for at least one of their popular dishes.

In contrast, another reviewer had an overwhelmingly positive experience, proclaiming Chinatown Kitchen to serve the "Best Chinese food EVER!!" This reviewer, who claims to have eaten Chinese cuisine in six different countries, was particularly impressed by the extensive vegan options available. They lauded the crispy and beautifully fried food, the amazing flavors that required no additional soy sauce or hot sauce, and the overall deliciousness of their meal. This customer specifically praised the tofu as the best they had ever had, along with the spring rolls, and also enjoyed the iced tea. Despite noting that the restaurant itself is "tiny and not maintained well" and therefore not suitable for a date, they highly recommended eating there, either by dining in or opting for delivery. They also mentioned a friendly owner and expressed their intention to become a regular customer, declaring Chinatown Kitchen their new favorite Chinese place.

The contrasting reviews paint a picture of a restaurant that, at its best, offers exceptionally flavorful food with a significant range of vegan choices, prepared with care and resulting in crispy, non-oily dishes. The positive reviewer's experience suggests that Chinatown Kitchen excels in creating dishes that are perfectly seasoned and satisfying on their own. The mention of a friendly owner adds a personal touch to the service.

However, the negative review points to potential inconsistencies in food quality or ingredient sourcing, at least with the chicken wings. The drastic change in the size and meat content of this once-favorite dish was a major concern for a long-term customer, indicating a possible lapse in standards that could deter other loyal patrons.

Regarding the environment, the positive reviewer described the restaurant as "tiny and not maintained well," suggesting a basic and perhaps somewhat dated interior that may not be conducive to a comfortable dine-in experience, particularly for special occasions. However, for customers prioritizing food quality and flavor over ambiance, or those opting for takeout or delivery, this might not be a significant drawback. The mention of a friendly owner suggests a welcoming atmosphere despite the physical limitations of the space.

In terms of services, Chinatown Kitchen primarily seems to cater to takeout and potentially delivery, given the positive reviewer's suggestion for those who don't mind the small dining area or prefer to have their orders delivered. The availability of phone orders through the provided numbers facilitates easy ordering for pickup or delivery (if offered directly or through third-party services, although this is not explicitly mentioned). The contrasting experiences suggest that the quality of service in terms of food preparation and potentially consistency might be areas for consideration.

The standout features of Chinatown Kitchen, based on the positive review, include the exceptionally flavorful food, the extensive vegan options, and the crispy, non-oily preparation of fried items. The "Best Chinese food EVER!!" endorsement is a strong testament to the potential quality of their cuisine. The negative review, however, highlights a potential inconsistency in ingredient quality and portion sizes for at least one specific dish.

No specific promotional information was provided in the customer reviews. Local users interested in learning about any current specials, discounts, or new menu items at Chinatown Kitchen would need to contact the restaurant directly using the phone numbers (201) 868-0630 or +1 201-868-0630. Checking online ordering platforms or social media (if available) might also provide insights into any ongoing promotions or featured dishes.

In conclusion, Chinatown Kitchen in West New York, NJ, appears to be a Chinese restaurant with the potential to offer exceptionally delicious food, particularly noted for its vegan options and flavorful, crispy preparations. The friendly owner mentioned in one review suggests a personal touch in the service. However, there are also concerns raised about the consistency of ingredient quality and portion sizes for some dishes, as highlighted by a disappointed long-term customer. The restaurant's ambiance is described as small and not well-maintained, making it more suitable for takeout or delivery. Local users seeking flavorful Chinese cuisine, especially those interested in vegan options, might find Chinatown Kitchen worth trying, but should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding consistency. Contacting the restaurant directly for menu details and any current promotions is recommended.

I’ve been coming here for YEARS. Since I live close by and always order the same thing chicken wings with pork fried rice. Never had a complaint they cook deliciously, seriously use to be my favorite spot. Recently though I’ve noticed they don’t use the same chicken wings. The ones they currently give out are extremely small I mean VERY. Seriously it has absolutely NO MEAT. Will not be coming back here again highly disappointed. Lost a loyal customer.

Best Chinese food EVER!! We've eaten Chinese in six countries and this was the best. Tons of vegan options. Crispy beautiful fried food, amazing flavors, nothing needed soy or hot sauce, the food was perfect as it came. The restaurant itself is tiny and not maintained well, so not a date location, but if you don't mind chatting with a friendly owner in a tiny restaurant or getting your order delivered, EAT HERE!! Best tofu we've ever had, best spring rolls EVER!! Delicious iced tea..... So so yummy! Will return for sure, this is our new favorite Chinese place ❤️❤️❤️
