About Chinatown Express

Welcome to Chinatown Express, a Chinese restaurant located at 5736 E Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90022, USA. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, Chinatown Express offers a variety of dishes for those in the Los Angeles area seeking Chinese cuisine. You can reach them at (323) 726-7908 or their mobile number, +1 323-726-7908, to place orders or inquire about their menu.

Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at Chinatown Express appear to be somewhat varied. One customer who visited the restaurant recently expressed disappointment with several of the dishes they ordered. They described the overall food quality as "mid," indicating an average experience. Specifically, they mentioned that the fried rice was bland and the chow mein tasted burnt. Furthermore, the BBQ pork was described as being tough to chew. However, this customer did note that the teriyaki chicken was a positive standout, being the only item they found to be good. They also recalled a more positive experience from a few years prior, suggesting a potential decline in food quality over time. This customer also observed that the restaurant did not seem busy, with only one other customer present during their visit, and concluded that they would not be returning, advising others to seek better options in the area.

In contrast, another customer had a significantly more positive experience, stating that the orange chicken was the best they had had in a long time. They also praised the freshness of the food and the generous portion sizes relative to the price. This review suggests that Chinatown Express may have certain signature dishes that are well-received and offer good value. The stark difference in these two reviews indicates a potential inconsistency in the quality of different dishes or perhaps a variability in the overall dining experience depending on the specific order or time of visit.

Considering the available feedback, a key feature of Chinatown Express seems to be its teriyaki chicken, which was specifically highlighted as good by one customer. Another potential highlight is the orange chicken, praised for its taste and freshness, as well as the generous portions offered at a good price. However, other dishes, such as the fried rice, chow mein, and BBQ pork, have received negative feedback regarding flavor and texture. This suggests that the quality and taste may vary across the menu.

The services offered by Chinatown Express likely include takeout, given that one customer took their food to go due to the environment. The lack of information about the dine-in environment in either review makes it difficult to assess the ambiance or comfort of eating at the restaurant itself. The availability of phone and mobile phone numbers indicates that customers can place orders for pickup. Whether they offer delivery services is not mentioned in the provided reviews, so local users interested in delivery should contact the restaurant directly to inquire.

Based on the provided information, there are no specific mentions of promotional offers or discounts at Chinatown Express. The first reviewer mentioned a combo meal but did not elaborate on its specifics or any associated promotions, other than the issue with a drink. Customers interested in learning about any specials, combo deals, or other promotions should contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers to get the most up-to-date information.

In summary, Chinatown Express in Los Angeles, CA, offers a range of Chinese dishes with takeout service available. Customer reviews present a mixed picture of the food quality, with the teriyaki chicken and orange chicken receiving positive mentions, while other items like fried rice, chow mein, and BBQ pork have been criticized. One customer praised the freshness and value of their meal, while another reported a disappointing experience with dry, bland, and poorly textured food. The dine-in environment is not described in the reviews. Local users considering Chinatown Express may want to inquire about the freshness and preparation of specific dishes and any current promotions before placing an order. The contrasting experiences suggest that the quality might be inconsistent, making it advisable to try their highly recommended items or seek more recent feedback before making a decision.

Nice staff. Food was mid. The only thing that was good from there was the teriyaki chicken. The fried rice was bland and chow mein tasted burnt. Got the BBQ pork and that thing was tough to chew. Had them a few years ago and it was pretty good. Now not so much. I don't know if that place ever gets busy cause there was only other customer besides me. Won't be back thats for sure. If you're in the area it is best if you find a better spot for your money.

Don't be put off by the decor. The food is actually pretty good. i had the orange chicken and the salt an pepper shrimp. my coworker had BBQ chicken and ribs. The portions were very generous, my coworker asked for light noodles and rice and still did not finish what they gave him. and the Salt and pepper shrimp was among the very best I have had. I will be going back.
