About china1

Welcome to China1, a Chinese restaurant located at 705 W Pine St #200 in Mt Airy, North Carolina (NC 27030), USA. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, China1 offers a variety of Chinese dishes to the community. You can contact them at (336) 719-2988 or their mobile number +1 336-719-2988.

Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at China1 appear to be quite varied, with some customers expressing significant dissatisfaction while others have had positive encounters. It's important for local users to consider both perspectives when deciding whether to dine at or order from this establishment.

One recent review detailed a very negative experience from a family that had been regular customers, ordering from China1 once or twice a month and spending a considerable amount ($50-$60) each time. However, their most recent order was described as "not edible." Specific issues included crunchy rice, stringy and dry chicken, and overly salty sauces, leading them to throw away the entire order. This resulted in a significant financial loss and prompted them to declare it would be their "absolutely our last time ordering from China One." Furthermore, this reviewer raised serious concerns about the cleanliness of the restaurant, noting that the building appeared neglected, the front area was unclean, and even the credit card reader was covered in grime. They expressed worry about the potential state of the kitchen's cleanliness given the conditions visible to customers and lamented a perceived decline in quality compared to the past.

In stark contrast, another recent reviewer had a highly positive experience, stating that the food was "the BEST Chinese food I've eaten in years!" This customer specifically requested spicy food and was pleased with the result, describing the sauce as "nice and thick." They also noted good portion sizes and commended the staff as "super nice people." This reviewer mentioned visiting at off-peak times and therefore missing the buffet, which they did not mind as they prefer a larger selection of vegetables, which are not always abundant on a buffet. They concluded by saying that if they lived nearby, they would be a regular customer.

These two reviews present a wide spectrum of experiences at China1. One highlights severe issues with food quality and significant concerns about cleanliness, leading to a complete cessation of patronage. The other praises the food quality, particularly the spiciness and sauce, the portion sizes, and the friendliness of the staff, indicating a very satisfied customer.

For local users in Mt Airy considering China1, these contrasting opinions suggest a potential inconsistency in food quality and cleanliness standards. The positive review indicates that when the food is prepared well, it can be highly enjoyable, with good flavor and generous portions, and that the service can be friendly. The negative review, however, raises serious red flags regarding the edibility of the food and the hygiene of the premises, which are critical aspects for any dining establishment.

Given the conflicting feedback, it is difficult to form a definitive overall assessment of China1 based solely on these two reviews. The mention of a buffet by the positive reviewer suggests that China1 may offer this service at certain times, which could be a feature for some customers. However, the negative reviewer's observations about the cleanliness of the front area and the building's condition are concerning and could deter potential customers who prioritize hygiene.

To make a more informed decision, local users might want to seek additional recent reviews from other sources to see if there is a prevailing trend in customer experiences. It could also be beneficial to inquire directly with the restaurant about their food preparation standards and hygiene practices if cleanliness is a significant concern. If you are interested in specific dishes or their buffet, you could also call to ask about their menu and buffet hours.

The positive reviewer's experience indicates that China1 is capable of producing delicious food and providing good service. If you value flavorful and spicy Chinese cuisine and friendly staff, this feedback might encourage you to try it. However, the negative review's detailed account of inedible food and unsanitary conditions cannot be ignored and should prompt caution.

As a Chinese restaurant in Mt Airy, China1 serves a local community that relies on establishments to provide quality food and a clean environment. The significant discrepancy in these two recent reviews suggests that the restaurant may be facing some operational challenges or inconsistencies. Potential customers will need to weigh these factors based on their own priorities and perhaps consider trying less risky options initially, if available, or inquiring further before placing a large order or dining in.

In conclusion, China1 in Mt Airy presents a mixed profile based on the provided customer feedback. While one customer raved about the delicious and spicy food and friendly service, another reported a completely inedible meal and expressed serious concerns about the restaurant's cleanliness. Local users should consider these contrasting experiences and potentially seek additional information before making a decision.

If you choose to try China1, it might be wise to start with a smaller order to assess the current food quality for yourself. Paying attention to the cleanliness of the visible areas of the restaurant upon pickup or dine-in could also provide some insight. Your own experience and any further reviews you find can contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of what China1 currently offers to the Mt Airy community.

My family orders from here about once or twice month. We spend around $50 to $60 each time for a variety of items. This week's order was not edible. The rice was crunchy. The chicken was very stringy and dry. The sauces were all overly salty. We threw away all of it. It was such a waste of hard earned money. Absolutely our last time ordering from China One. The building itself looks like it is being neglected and needs a really good cleaning. The front area is not clean. Even the credit card reader is caked with grime. I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like in terms of cleanliness if the part the customers actually see is dirty. Used to be so much better. Not sure what has happened, but it is unfortunate.

This is the BEST Chinese food I've eaten in years! I asked for spicy and they delivered! The sauce was nice and thick. Good portion size. Super nice people. We tend to visit at odd times so we miss the buffet time, which is fine. I like vegetables and there are not normally a large selection on a buffet. If I lived near here, I would be a regular.

I've been getting takeout from China One for years and generally been pretty happy about it but the last few times I've gotten food from there, I've been disappointed. I placed an order a few days ago and all of their prices have gone up by at least a couple of dollars. That's a sign of the times. What really made me mad was that they raised the price on the chicken wings and now instead of getting 8 like you used to, you only get 4. $10 for 1 big wing, 2 medium and 1 pathetic wing is just a plain rip off. Also for some reason, after eating this last meal, my heart wouldn't stop racing for at least a couple of hours. Not sure if it was MSG or something else, but I'll think twice next time I'm craving Chinese food.

Had the bar. Limited selection. Some food was refrigerator cold. Not what we expected at all. Everything was self serve even flatware napkins and condiments. We had to hunt to find were things were stored. Lady was on speaker phone all during our meal. There was no way you could avoid hearing her conversation it was so loud you could hear the children on the other end if the call. Food was flavorful. But the rest of the experience was lacking. It was exceptionally clean.
