About China Wok Restaurant

Welcome to China Wok Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant located at 1821 US-15 in Sumter, South Carolina. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, we strive to offer a diverse menu of Chinese cuisine to the residents and visitors of Sumter. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance are limited based on the available information, China Wok Restaurant appears to focus on providing quality food at reasonable prices, with an emphasis on using fresh ingredients and preparing dishes to order.

Based on customer feedback, the services offered at China Wok Restaurant include both dine-in and takeout options. One reviewer mentioned visiting the restaurant frequently, suggesting that it is a place where customers can enjoy a meal on-site. The availability of takeout service allows patrons to conveniently enjoy their favorite Chinese dishes at home or elsewhere. While delivery services are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, it is possible that they are offered or may become available in the future. For the most up-to-date information on all available services, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.

A notable feature highlighted in one of the customer reviews is the restaurant's commitment to using "quality fresh ingredients" and preparing food "when ordered." This suggests a focus on providing freshly made meals, which can contribute to a better taste and overall dining experience. This approach to food preparation may appeal to customers who value the freshness and quality of their meals. Additionally, the same reviewer praised the staff for being "friendly and helpful," indicating a positive customer service experience. A specific instance of kindness was observed where a staff member, presumably the person at the register, offered to allow a customer who was fifty cents short to bring the remaining money back on their next visit. This act of generosity suggests a customer-centric approach and a willingness to build positive relationships with patrons.

However, it is important to present a balanced perspective based on all available feedback. One review raised a significant concern regarding the environment of the restaurant. The reviewer described an odor of cigarettes in the area where food is prepared, specifically noting the smell near the register, which is located close to the stove and prep tables. This observation raises questions about the restaurant's ventilation and adherence to hygiene standards in the food preparation area. The reviewer expressed discomfort with this issue and stated an inability to recommend the restaurant to friends and family due to this perceived lack of care. This is a serious concern that potential customers may want to consider.

Considering these contrasting reviews, China Wok Restaurant seems to have both strengths and weaknesses. On the positive side, the restaurant is recognized for offering "good food at reasonable prices" and using "quality fresh ingredients." The staff is described as "friendly and helpful," and an instance of exceptional kindness towards a customer was noted. These aspects suggest a potentially positive dining experience in terms of food quality, value, and customer service.

On the other hand, the negative review regarding the smell of cigarettes in the food preparation area is a significant concern that could deter potential customers. Issues related to the environment and hygiene of a food establishment are critical and can impact the overall perception of the restaurant, regardless of the quality of the food or the friendliness of the staff. It is unclear if this was an isolated incident or a persistent issue.

For local users in Sumter, SC, considering China Wok Restaurant, it would be prudent to weigh these contrasting opinions. If fresh ingredients and reasonable prices are priorities, and if the potential environmental concern is something you are willing to overlook or inquire about, then China Wok Restaurant might be an option. The positive remarks about the staff and the freshness of the food are encouraging. However, the negative comment about the cigarette smell should also be taken into consideration.

Unfortunately, the provided information does not include any specific promotional details. In conclusion, China Wok Restaurant in Sumter, SC, is a Chinese restaurant that has received mixed reviews. It is praised for its good food, reasonable prices, fresh ingredients, and friendly staff. However, a significant concern has been raised regarding the smell of cigarettes in the food preparation area. Potential customers are advised to consider both the positive and negative feedback when deciding whether to dine at or order from China Wok Restaurant. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, direct contact with the restaurant is recommended.

I walk in, and it smells of cigarettes in the where food is prepared.. i know some NPC'S would argue this and say, "Maybe at the front door, someone smoked and then walked in." My response to this thought would be that the front door is at the FRONT. Not at the register (which is less than 5 steps away from the stove and prep tables where it smells freshly lit. Why is this okay, and why so close to the food? I can't recommend friends and family eat at an establishment with a lack of care like this.

Vist this restaurant frequently because they offer good food at reasonable prices. They use quality fresh ingredients and prepare when ordered. Staff are friendly and helpful. Recently I observed the man behind the register offer to let a customer who was fifty cents short bring the money back on her next visit. Was impressed by his kindness.

The place looks clean...thats the only positive thing I can say. I ordered 3 orders of chicken and shrimp fried rice. The rice and chicken looked and tasted old and reheated. It was as if they cooked everything two days before and simply heated the chicken up, slathering sauce on it afterwards. Waste of my money, I would recommend going somewhere else.

This place is Always clean and never so busy that its inconvenient. Most of the food is cooked fresh to order, usually in 15 minutes or less. The prices are affordable, really not bad at all for the amount of food or portion sizes, Be prepared for left overs. They have the best lo mein noodles Ive ever had and I know lo mein. I always order a qt. Of the roast pork lo mein without vegetables and it takes me at least 3 seperate attempts before I can eat it all. Its a family owned business so the same employees have been there for years and they speak and understand english, are friendly and WILL remember a regular customer and their regular order. The restaraunt is small and squeezed into a shopping center next to a beauty supply store and a nail salon but there is a dining area with 8 family sized booths, 4 on each side so you can order at the counter and eat there or even call ahead so its ready to be picked up when you arrive. They also have 2 liters, 20 oz's, fortune cookies, chopsticks,(yes they also have plastic utensils as well, so no big deal if you're one of those ppl that cant control the sticks)and soy/duck/hot sauce, salt and pepper, and paper menus on the counter. They got 5 stars from me & thats not an easy or common achievement. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’–
