Recent customer feedback regarding China Wok Restaurant presents a concerning issue alongside some observations about the food and dining environment. One reviewer shared a disturbing experience, stating that what they initially thought was good Chinese food turned out to be the opposite when they discovered a dead fly inside their chicken meal after placing food on their plate. Understandably, this incident led the customer to declare that they would no longer order from the restaurant. While acknowledging that accidents can happen, they emphasized the severity of this particular incident and expressed regret at not being able to share a photograph they had taken of the dish. The reviewer urged the restaurant to exercise greater caution with their food preparation, highlighting the potential health risks such oversights could pose to customers.

Another customer, who frequents Chinese and Japanese restaurants, shared their experience specifically with the Chinese-style food at China Wok. This was their first time trying the sesame chicken from this establishment, and they found it unsatisfactory. While they noted that the portion size was generous, the chicken itself was described as being predominantly salty rather than having the expected sweet flavor. The reviewer speculated that there might have been an excessive amount of soy sauce used in its preparation. Despite their disappointment with the sesame chicken, they made an effort to be fair, suggesting that perhaps China Wok's version simply differs in taste from what is commonly expected. On a more positive note, they found the rice to be good and the egg roll to be great, indicating some consistency in the quality of side dishes.

Beyond the food, this second reviewer also commented on the restaurant's environment. They mentioned that it seemed the air conditioning was not functioning properly, making the interior quite warm. Despite this discomfort, they noted that it appeared to be a "pretty nice place to sit down and eat" if the air conditioning were working effectively. This suggests that the ambiance and decor of China Wok Restaurant might be appealing, but the lack of proper climate control detracted from the overall dine-in experience during their visit.

The feedback available for China Wok Restaurant paints a concerning picture regarding food safety, as highlighted by the discovery of a dead fly in a meal. This is a serious issue that could significantly impact customer trust and the restaurant's reputation. Additionally, the experience with the sesame chicken being overly salty suggests potential inconsistencies in the preparation of certain dishes or a deviation from standard flavor profiles. However, the positive remarks about the rice and egg roll indicate that some aspects of their menu might be well-received.

The observation about the non-functioning air conditioning also points to a potential issue with the restaurant's environment, which could affect the comfort of dine-in customers, particularly during warmer weather. The reviewer's comment that it would be a nice place to eat if the AC were working implies that the physical setting of the restaurant has some positive attributes that are overshadowed by the lack of climate control.

Given the severity of the food safety issue reported, local users in Raeford, NC, should exercise extreme caution when considering ordering from or dining at China Wok Restaurant. The presence of a foreign object in a meal is a significant red flag that raises serious concerns about the restaurant's hygiene and food preparation practices. While one reviewer found some of the food to be acceptable (rice and egg roll) and noted a potentially pleasant dining environment (if the AC were working), these positives are overshadowed by the more critical issues raised. The inconsistent flavor profile of the sesame chicken also suggests a lack of adherence to standard recipes or quality control. Without further information or more positive recent reviews to counter these significant concerns, it would be prudent for potential customers to consider alternative dining options in the area.

What I thought was good Chinese food turned out to be the opposite. Food had good taste however, when I put food in plate noticed dead fly inside my chicken meal. I will no longer order here again. Accident happens but this was very bad. I wish I could post picture I took of dish. However, I couldn't. To the restaurant please be more careful with your food. This could cause health issues for people.

I usually go to Chinese restaurants like this or Japanese. The food that I ate was Chinese style here. This is the first time that I have gotten sesame chicken and I didn't like it. It was a great portion of food. The chicken just was salty instead of having a sweet flavor. It seemed like it had too much soy sauce in it. I'm not trying to be mean. I ate the food and maybe their sesame chicken just doesn't taste like most everyone else's sesame chicken. My rice was good. My egg roll was great. It was just the chicken. I guess they were having trouble with their air conditioning. Maybe it was pretty warm inside as well. It is actually a pretty nice place to sit down and eat if the air conditioning would have been working.

Very rude. I forgot my card in the car and told her I would be right back. 2 mins later the woman at the counter calls me and ask if I was coming back to get food. I said yes that I was looking for my card in the car that was parked all the way in the food Lion parking lot. She scoffed and hung up on me like I was inconveniencing her when it was a simple accident. This is my first time going there and I no longer want the food and no longer will be going there. Don't treat customers like they're bothering you when it was something as simple as going to get my card. Prices on menu on Google images are not correct either. They say the combination plate is 7.50 but they are 11.50. No need to be rude when you are falsely advertising the incorrect prices.

We used to love this place. A couple of years ago, things changed. The quality of the food slowly started going downhill. So we stopped going. We went back last night, and man, major disappointment. The chicken was super dry and chewy. Lots of flour used to fry the chicken multiple times. It's just dry. No flavor. The lo mein was the worst we've had. All around a poor experience. Not worth the new prices and a far cry from what this place used to be.
