About China Wok

China Wok is a Chinese restaurant located at 2412 W Broadway in Council Bluffs, Iowa. As a local Chinese restaurant, it aims to provide Chinese cuisine to the community. They can be contacted at (712) 256-3889 or their mobile number +1 712-256-3889.

Recent customer reviews indicate considerable dissatisfaction with China Wok. One reviewer described the restaurant as "disgusting and over priced." They reported receiving an incorrect order of General Tso chicken with minimal broccoli, steamed rice that was dyed yellow and lacked flavor or additional ingredients like eggs and carrots, and an egg roll. Their fiancé's sweet and sour chicken was likened to breaded chicken nuggets, and the crab rangoons were described as "disgusting." This reviewer also noted the presence of "bugs galore" on the window sill and strongly advised others to avoid the restaurant to save money, expressing high disappointment, especially after a week spent in the hospital for their daughter's birth.

Another customer also strongly recommended against visiting China Wok. They usually frequent Great Wall but tried China Wok due to the former's early closure. This reviewer ordered pork fried rice with extra egg but found eggshell in their food. They were further disappointed to find lettuce in the pork fried rice, an ingredient they had never encountered in this dish before. They described the rice as yellow and the pork as not being "the real deal." This customer could only eat a few bites and advised others not to waste their time or money at this restaurant. They also mentioned that the cashier seemed more preoccupied with their phone than with taking orders correctly, contributing to the negative experience of the first reviewer as well.

Based on these reviews, the environment of China Wok appears to have potential cleanliness issues, as indicated by the mention of bugs on the window sill. The service is also criticized, with one reviewer noting the cashier's inattentiveness. The features of the food, as described by these customers, are overwhelmingly negative, including incorrect orders, poor quality ingredients (such as minimal broccoli, flavorless dyed rice, and questionable pork), improperly prepared dishes (overly breaded chicken, disgusting crab rangoons), and the presence of unexpected and undesirable items in the food (eggshell, lettuce in pork fried rice).

There is no promotional information available in the provided data. Given the strong negative feedback regarding food quality, order accuracy, and potential hygiene concerns, local users in Council Bluffs should be aware of these recent experiences when considering dining at China Wok. The reviews strongly suggest exploring alternative Chinese restaurants in the area.

China wok is disgusting and over priced! I got the General Tso chicken with an egg roll and pork fried rice. They messed up the order first and foremost. The general tso picture on the menu showed tons of broccoli when we got the meal it had 2 little pieces. The rice was steamed no eggs no flavor and dyed yellow with peas no carrots. My fiance got the sweet and sour chicken an crab ragoons. It might as well been chicken nuggets breaded with tempura and the crab ragoons was disgusting. Bugs galore on the window seal. Please do yourself and save your self $50 dollars. After spending a week in the hospital for my daughters birth i was looking for a good meal. i am highly disappointed in china wok it is so disgusting and to top it off the cashier was too busy on her phone than to take the order correctly.

I do not recommend this place at all! I usually go to Great Wall in council bluffs (that place has been my favorite for years), but it was a Sunday and they closed early so I thought I'd give another place a shot. We'll I chose the wrong place. I ordered pork fried rice with extra egg and when I got home to eat.. I notice I had egg shell in my food and I pulled it out and tried to enjoy the food, but then noticed a piece of lettuce. There should not be no lettuce in pork fried rice. All these years I've ordered it I have never had lettuce in it. I am so disappointed, I couldn't even eat more than 5 bites of what I ordered. Don't waste your time or money on this restaurant. Another complaint I should add is the fried rice is yellow and the pork is definitely not the real deal.

Do not recommend! Eating the orange chicken wasn't a pleasant experience at all. It was elasticity and by the end I had to spit it out, just to find my 'orange chicken' left as some weird consistency/form from chewing it. I also had noodles which were ok, but not something I'd choose to eat again. In my opinion the food was priced way more than what it deserved. About $75-80 dollars of regret by far. I felt like I got scammed and I just wanted a refund back. The restaurant is clean and the customer service is pretty good. Not the food though. (Sorry about the picture for those of you who get disgusted easily)

Everyone has a slight different way they make their fried rice. This restaurant style does well with their rice. I thought I'd be still hungry, but the small size serving is quite packed. A bit more than enough for one person. I would stop by again if needing fast good food.

I went to lunch here with my girl friend and we got beef fried rice, lo mein, and an order of crab Rangoon. The crab Rangoon was crispy on the inside and the filling was super rich. Had to even get an order to go. My beef fried rice was great. Definitely better than most places. My girlfriend said the lo mein was phenomenal. Service was attentive and was always checking in. Will be back for sure.
