Recent customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the dining experience at China Wok. One customer expressed a highly positive opinion, stating that China Wok is their preferred Chinese restaurant in Harrisonville. They praised the staff as nice and noted that the restaurant appeared clean for the most part. This reviewer also highlighted the flavorful food, which was served hot and in large portions. A notable feature mentioned was the availability of free hot and cold tea for customers. The only minor critique from this reviewer was that the sauce on their General Tso's chicken was a little too abundant, but they considered this preferable to not having enough sauce and indicated their intention to return, suggesting an overall positive impression.

In contrast, another customer and their spouse reported a "less than stellar experience" with a recent takeout order. They had been craving Chinese food and decided to order from China Wok, which they mentioned used to be their favorite spot in town for this type of cuisine. However, their experience was significantly disappointing. They found the Tso chicken to be excessively overcooked, describing it as crunchy throughout to the point where it seemed like there was hardly any chicken inside the breading. Additionally, the rice was reportedly hard, indicating it was likely undercooked. This negative experience led the reviewer to state that China Wok is "quickly loosing" their vote as their favorite Chinese restaurant, signaling a significant decline in their satisfaction.

Considering these two recent reviews, China Wok presents a somewhat inconsistent picture. On one hand, there is a customer who enjoys the food, service, and environment, appreciating the flavor, portion sizes, and complimentary tea. On the other hand, another customer experienced significant issues with the preparation of their takeout order, specifically with overcooked chicken and undercooked rice, leading to considerable disappointment. These contrasting experiences suggest that while China Wok may have strengths in certain areas, such as staff friendliness and portion sizes, there might be inconsistencies in food preparation that can impact the overall customer satisfaction.

For local users in Harrisonville considering China Wok, it would be prudent to weigh these recent experiences. If you are looking for a dine-in option with potentially friendly service and generous portions, the positive review suggests that China Wok could be a good choice. The availability of free hot and cold tea is also a nice perk for dine-in customers. However, the negative experience with the takeout order, particularly the issues with the quality of the General Tso's chicken and rice, raises concerns about the consistency of their food preparation for takeout. If you plan to order takeout, it might be wise to be specific about your preferences regarding food preparation and perhaps check your order carefully before leaving the premises, if possible.

To gain a more comprehensive understanding of China Wok's menu, hours of operation, and any current specials, local users are encouraged to contact them directly at (816) 884-5888 or +1 816-884-5888. Inquiring about their food preparation methods for popular dishes like the General Tso's chicken might also be beneficial, especially given the conflicting feedback. Located at 642 S Commercial St, China Wok is situated in a central area of Harrisonville, making it easily accessible for local residents. Whether you are looking to dine in or order takeout, China Wok offers a local option for Chinese cuisine, but it's important to be aware of the recent mixed reviews regarding food quality.

In conclusion, China Wok in Harrisonville, MO, receives praise for its friendly staff, clean environment (for the most part), flavorful food served in large portions, and the offer of free hot and cold tea. However, recent feedback also indicates potential inconsistencies in food preparation, particularly with takeout orders, where issues like overcooked chicken and undercooked rice have been reported. Local users should consider these varying experiences when deciding whether to dine at or order from China Wok and may want to seek more information directly from the restaurant.

Best Chinese food in Harrisonville for me. Nice staff, clean restaurant for the most part, food has flavor and is served hot in large portions, free hot and cold tea. For me the sauce was a little too much sauce on my general chicken but that is better than not enough. I'd go back.

My wife and I had a less than stellar experience. We were craving Chinese so we ordered and she went to pick it up. Upon, getting home to indulge on our Friday night treat, we found the Tso chicken to be so over cooked it was crunchy throughout like there wasn’t even chicken inside the breading and the rice was hard like it wasn’t cooked. Where this use to be our favorite spot in town for Chinese it is quickly loosing my vote.

We always order our food to go and take it home. It's always fresh, the portions are huge (We usually get least three meals out of the dinner size), and the staff has always been friendly. Our favorite place around for cashew chicken and generals chicken. They have yummy crab rangoon as well.
