About China Wok

China Wok is a Chinese restaurant located at 103 Bridge St Plaza, Wheeling, WV 26003, USA, serving the local community with a variety of Chinese dishes. As a Chinese restaurant in Wheeling, China Wok can be contacted at (304) 243-8898 or via their mobile number +1 304-243-8898 for placing orders or inquiries. Based on the available customer feedback, it appears that China Wok offers both takeout and potentially dine-in services.

Customer reviews for China Wok present a mixed but informative perspective on the dining experience. One first-time visitor had a highly positive impression, stating that it "will not be our last" visit. This reviewer specifically praised the "huge" portion sizes and noted that the food was "nice & fresh." A particular highlight for them was the egg roll, which they described as "the best I've had in a really long time," leading them to strongly recommend China Wok.

In contrast, another customer's experience was less favorable. While they acknowledged that it was "not the worst," they also felt it was "far from the best." This reviewer speculated that ordering late (around 8 pm) might have influenced their experience and indicated that this would unfortunately be their "first and last time ordering." Specific criticisms included the texture of the chicken in the General Tso's dish, which they did not like. On a more positive note, they found the lo mein noodles to be good. However, they noted that the Hunan chicken dish consisted of "pretty much all vegetables," suggesting a lack of the expected amount of chicken.

Considering these two reviews, several aspects of China Wok can be inferred. Firstly, the portion sizes are generally perceived as large, which can be a significant draw for customers seeking value for money. Secondly, the freshness of the food seems to be a point of praise for at least one customer, suggesting that China Wok prioritizes using fresh ingredients. The egg rolls are also highlighted as a standout item.

However, the negative review raises concerns about the consistency and quality of certain dishes, particularly the General Tso's chicken and the balance of ingredients in the Hunan chicken. The texture of the chicken in the General Tso's dish was specifically disliked, which could indicate issues with preparation or the quality of the chicken used. The predominantly vegetable composition of the Hunan chicken might disappoint customers expecting a more substantial amount of protein in the dish. The reviewer's speculation about the late ordering time affecting the quality suggests that the time of day an order is placed might influence the overall experience.

Information regarding the environment or ambiance of China Wok is not explicitly provided in these reviews. Both seem to be based on takeout experiences, so there is no direct insight into the dine-in atmosphere, decor, or cleanliness of the establishment. However, the positive first-time visitor's intention to return suggests that their overall impression, which might have included a brief interaction with the premises for pickup, was favorable enough to warrant a future visit.

The services offered by China Wok appear to include takeout, and the mention of a first-time "visiting here" implies the possibility of a dine-in option as well. The positive reviewer's experience suggests efficient service leading to fresh and well-prepared food. The negative reviewer's experience, while critical of the food, does not comment on the service itself, focusing instead on the quality of the dishes ordered.

No specific features or unique selling points are explicitly mentioned, aside from the large portions and the highly regarded egg rolls. These could be considered features that might attract customers. There is no promotional information, such as discounts or special offers, mentioned in the provided text.

For local users in Wheeling considering China Wok, the reviews suggest a restaurant with the potential for a satisfying meal, particularly if you appreciate generous portions and are looking for a standout egg roll. However, there is also a risk of encountering inconsistencies in food quality, particularly with certain chicken dishes, and potentially if ordering later in the evening. It might be advisable to consider these points when deciding what to order and when.

To gain a more comprehensive understanding, local users might look for additional recent reviews on other platforms to see if a more consistent picture of China Wok emerges. Trying the egg rolls seems to be a must based on the positive feedback. For other dishes, especially chicken-based ones, it might be prudent to inquire about the preparation methods or recent feedback from other customers when placing an order at (304) 243-8898 or +1 304-243-8898. Given the limited information, a personal experience might be the best way to determine if China Wok meets your expectations for Chinese cuisine in Wheeling.

The best Chinese food in the valley, and I've tried them all! Not only is the food delicious, the price is right, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. My favorite menu item is the crab Rangoon (cheese wontons). I get them every time I order and could eat the entire bag by myself. I highly recommend giving china wok a try, you won't be disappointed.

I use to love China Wok, however the quality of their food has plummeted tremendously. I ordered some wings the other day and they were horrible, I could tell they were old and had been refried, after breaking them open the bone was super dark because they were old, also the crab Rangoon was very small. I did call the restaurant about and they take the wings back and replace them with more wings that appeared better on the outside but they were old too. Never again.
