About China Wok Express

China Wok Express, located at 15751 Bellflower Blvd in Bellflower, California, is a Chinese restaurant that has faced recent criticism from its customer base, according to online reviews. This introduction aims to provide local users with a comprehensive and objective overview of the restaurant based on this feedback, covering aspects such as the food quality, service, environment, and any notable changes reported by patrons.

Several customer reviews indicate a significant decline in the quality of food and service at China Wok Express, particularly noting changes associated with new ownership. One reviewer, who had been a customer for approximately 22 years and had been happy with the establishment in the past, expressed total disappointment with the most recent new owners. This suggests a notable shift in the restaurant's standards that has negatively impacted long-term customers.

Concerns about the food quality are prominent in the reviews. One customer who ordered the fried rice and orange chicken described it as "just ok." Another customer's experience was more negative; they found the mushroom chicken to look "sad, dry and old." Opting for a freshly prepared dish, the Special Delight, did not improve the experience, as it contained breaded shrimp that became "soggy" in the sauce. This suggests potential issues with the freshness and preparation of various menu items.

Furthermore, the same customer reported being told around 7 pm that they could not eat at the restaurant because cleaning was about to begin, even though the stated closing time was 8:30 pm. This indicates a potential inconvenience for customers wishing to dine in during the later part of the evening and raises questions about the restaurant's stated operating hours and service availability.

Another review detailed issues with both the service and the food. The customer described the server as "kind of rude" and felt "rushed to order." The portion sizes of certain ingredients were also criticized. The broccoli beef order reportedly contained only "four or five little pieces of beef" compared to "about 10 pieces of giant broccoli." Similarly, a barbecue pork order, for which an extra dollar was charged as an upgrade, yielded only "four pieces of pork," a significant reduction from previous servings. The reviewer also noted that the "recipe and flavor on all the items are totally different from before, and not tasty at all."

A recurring theme in the negative feedback is the perceived skimpiness of portions and the undesirable quality of the food. One customer explicitly stated that "the amount of food is very skimpy and the quality of the food is very undesirable," leading to their decision never to return to the restaurant. This sentiment echoes the disappointment expressed by the long-term customer who also vowed not to come back due to the decline in quality and service under the new owners.

The environment of China Wok Express is not described in detail in the provided reviews. However, the incident where a customer was told they could not eat in due to impending cleaning suggests a focus on efficiency and perhaps a less accommodating attitude towards dine-in customers towards the end of their operating hours.

The service at China Wok Express has come under scrutiny, with one customer describing the server as rude and feeling rushed. Additionally, the request for a $1 tip for a to-go order was noted, which might be unexpected by some customers for a takeout service. These instances suggest potential issues with customer service and staff interactions.

Key features of China Wok Express, based on past experiences, may have included certain recipes and portion sizes that customers appreciated. However, recent reviews indicate that these features have changed, with customers noting altered flavors and reduced serving sizes. The menu includes standard American Chinese fare such as fried rice, orange chicken, mushroom chicken, broccoli beef, and barbecue pork, as well as a dish called Special Delight. However, the quality and preparation of these items have been called into question in recent feedback.

There is no information regarding any promotional offers or special features currently being advertised by China Wok Express in the provided reviews. Therefore, local users would need to seek additional information from other sources if they are interested in any potential promotions.

In conclusion, recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of China Wok Express in Bellflower. Multiple patrons have reported a significant decline in food quality, changes in recipes, reduced portion sizes, and issues with service, particularly since the restaurant apparently came under new ownership. The incident where a customer was denied dine-in service well before the stated closing time also raises concerns about customer service and operational practices. While the price and amount of food were considered good by one customer in an otherwise negative review, the prevailing sentiment is one of disappointment and a lack of desire to return. Local users considering China Wok Express should be aware of these recent negative experiences and might want to explore other Chinese restaurant options in the area.

Not what I had expected. Tried and unfortunately for us it was a total miss. My husband got the fried rice and orange chicken, it was just ok I wanted mushroom chicken, but it looked sad, dry and old . So I ordered fresh, got the Special Delight. It had breaded shrimp in the sauce, made it soggy. Maybe we were here too late, it was around 7pm, told we couldn't eat there because they were going to start cleaning. They close at 830pm . The price and amount of food in each meal is good, however the taste is a miss for us. We have Ben's close to us, but decided to try a new place, it was a mistake. The girl kept saying we clean for 1 hour, gesturing even up the ceiling, that they clean everything, so we couldn't eat there, to go only. The girl even asked for a tip of $1, for togo.

I had been coming to this place for about 22 years and I had been very happy with this place in the past. They had changed owners a few times, but I just went in two days ago and was totally disappointed with the most recent new owners. The lady that served me was kind of rude and made me feel rushed to order. I ordered broccoli beef and got only four or five little pieces of beef and about 10 pieces of giant broccoli. I always always order barbecue pork and got a good serving before, but this time I only got four pieces of pork and still got charged an extra dollar for the upgrade. The recipe and flavor on all the items are totally different from before, and not tasty at all. The amount of food is very skimpy and the quality of the food is very undesirable. Needless to say I will never come back to this place again.

I’m giving a one star on everything. First off the lady serving is incredibly RUDE! We came here to try it out for the first time and it’ll be our last! The food looked like it was sitting there for a while (chow main, broccoli) i said I’d wait for fresh food she said no i had to get that. The lady said it’ll take long! Maybe 15-20 min. I said I’d wait. She walked away and came back and she said, no it take too long 45 min to an hour! For broccoli?….I felt like she kept avoiding me getting some of the new batch. If i could give zero stars i would! Anyway, I Do not recommend this place at all! I will go to panda across the street next time. Truly disappointed!

I been going to the establishment for over 10 years. I believe that there has been about three different owners. I recently moved from Bellflower but stop by once in a while. The lady who serves is beyond rude, and has a nasty attitude even to give my receipt. Was a problem. I have to definitely look for a place near where I live now.

This place has amazing tasting food. I ordered the kung pao chicken, jalapeño chicken, steamed rice, and chowmein. I got a 1 item combo but he let me pick two. I think its because they were closing for the day but that was so nice of him! The actual place isn't too inviting but I really don't mind that factor, as long as they have good food! And they really filled up my plate, definitely worth it!!
