About China Wok Chinese Restaurant

China Wok Chinese Restaurant, located at 309 Mid Rivers Mall Dr in St. Peters, Missouri, 63376, serves the local community as a part of the Chinese Restaurant category. This establishment offers a variety of Chinese dishes and can be contacted at (636) 970-6163 or their mobile number +1 636-970-6163 for inquiries or orders. Based on the limited but contrasting customer reviews available, China Wok seems to evoke strong, albeit differing, opinions regarding its food and service.

One highly positive review paints a picture of a restaurant that successfully captures a specific nostalgic taste for a customer familiar with "North County Chinese food." This reviewer expressed immense satisfaction, stating they had been searching for this particular style of cuisine for a significant period. They specifically highlighted several positive aspects of their experience. Firstly, they noted that "the restaurant was clean," which is a fundamental aspect of any appealing dining establishment. Secondly, they praised the service as "great," describing the staff as "very friendly and smiled," indicating a welcoming and positive atmosphere. Thirdly, they mentioned that the "Food was made fresh," suggesting a commitment to quality and potentially contributing to the overall flavor and appeal of the dishes.

A particularly significant point of praise in this review was the rice, which the customer's entire household found reminiscent of "Lisa’s on Jennings Station Road from back in the day." This comparison to a beloved, presumably now perhaps unavailable, local favorite strongly suggests a specific and appealing flavor profile that resonates with those familiar with North County's Chinese food scene. Furthermore, the reviewer raved about the "crab Rangoon," specifically noting that they are the "non sweet" variety. This is a significant detail as crab rangoon can often be made with a sweet cream cheese filling. The fact that China Wok offers the non-sweet version, and that the customer had been searching for this particular style for a while, indicates a unique and appreciated offering. They concluded by declaring these non-sweet crab rangoon as "the best!" and stated that China Wok would become their "new spot," signifying a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.

In stark contrast to this glowing review, another customer reported a significantly negative experience. They stated that "the crab racoon & egg rolls both tasted like they were sitting in a warmer for hours." This suggests a lack of freshness and potentially compromised texture and flavor. Furthermore, they described the "chicken was gross," a strong and unfavorable assessment of a key ingredient in many Chinese dishes. Based on this experience, this customer definitively stated, "Definitely won't order again," indicating a high level of dissatisfaction.

Considering these two very different reviews, it is challenging to form a completely objective and universally applicable assessment of China Wok Chinese Restaurant. The positive review highlights aspects such as cleanliness, friendly service, freshly made food, a specific and appreciated style of rice reminiscent of a North County favorite, and a sought-after non-sweet version of crab rangoon deemed exceptional. These points suggest that China Wok has the potential to offer a very satisfying experience for customers who appreciate this particular style of Chinese cuisine and these specific preparations.

On the other hand, the negative review raises concerns about the freshness of some of the food items, specifically the crab rangoon, egg rolls, and the quality of the chicken. These are significant issues that could deter potential customers if they are indicative of a broader problem with food preparation or holding times. It is possible that the two reviews reflect different experiences based on the time of day, specific dishes ordered, or perhaps inconsistencies in the restaurant's operations.

For local users in St. Peters and the surrounding areas, particularly those who have an affinity for the style of Chinese food found in North County and those who prefer non-sweet crab rangoon, China Wok Chinese Restaurant might be worth exploring based on the highly positive feedback from one customer. The mention of fresh food and friendly service are also encouraging aspects. However, the negative review regarding the freshness and quality of some items should also be taken into consideration.

As there is no information available regarding the restaurant's environment beyond the mention of cleanliness, it is difficult to provide a detailed description. Similarly, details about specific services like delivery options or the full extent of their menu are not provided in the given information. Promotional information is also absent.

In conclusion, China Wok Chinese Restaurant at 309 Mid Rivers Mall Dr in St. Peters presents a mixed picture based on the limited customer feedback. One customer found it to be a delightful discovery, reminiscent of a beloved North County style, with excellent non-sweet crab rangoon, fresh food, and great service. However, another customer reported issues with the freshness and quality of several dishes. Local users may need to weigh these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to try China Wok. If you have a preference for North County-style Chinese food or are specifically looking for non-sweet crab rangoon, the positive review suggests a potentially rewarding experience. However, being mindful of the negative feedback regarding food freshness might also be prudent.

The lady taking orders was very nice, food tasted average but was bountiful for a good price. Waited about 25 minutes but it was worth it.

I usually get lunch Hot Braised chicken and ask for a little less sauce. I've been trying to find a good lunch place for Chinese for a decent price. For the several times I've tried this place, they've always been great. I have no complaints. They are fast, nice, and efficient. The food is delicious. I like their shrine they have in the corner.
