About China Village

For local diners in Colorado Springs seeking a Chinese Restaurant with a long history in the community, China Village, located at 203 N Union Blvd, has been serving patrons for 43 years. You can reach them at (719) 475-8299 or +1 719-475-8299 for reservations or inquiries.

Based on recent customer feedback, China Village is recognized for its friendly and welcoming service. One reviewer specifically mentioned a staff member named Linda, who provided a "friendly greeting" and was accommodating to dietary preferences, offering the option to omit a vegetable from a dish. Linda was also noted for her efficiency in taking orders and bringing them to the table promptly. This suggests that attentive and personalized service is a key aspect of the dining experience at China Village.

A unique and highly recommended feature of China Village is the "Pu Pu Platter," which is described as "fun" and arrives with its own mini grill. This interactive appetizer allows diners to cook some of the platter's contents at their table, adding an element of novelty and engagement to the meal. It's a dish that seems particularly well-suited for sharing and creating a memorable start to the dining experience.

In addition to the Pu Pu Platter, the "Sauteed Wonderful Chicken" and "Green Jade Shrimp" are also highly recommended dishes, with one reviewer explicitly thanking a taxi service for recommending these "gems." This suggests that these dishes are flavorful and well-regarded within the local community, possibly representing signature or particularly well-executed items on the menu.

The longevity of China Village, having been in Colorado Springs for 43 years at the time of the review, speaks to its established presence and likely a loyal customer base. Recommendations from local services like taxi drivers further indicate its recognition and positive reputation within the community over an extended period.

However, it's important to provide a balanced perspective by also considering areas where improvement has been suggested by customers. One reviewer, while generally positive, pointed out some concerns regarding the cleanliness of the restaurant. They specifically mentioned the need for dusting the lights next to the tables and inside the bathroom, as well as noting dusty walls. This feedback suggests that while the food and service might be commendable, attention to detail in maintaining a clean and well-kept environment could enhance the overall customer experience. The same reviewer did appreciate the "upgraded bathroom sinks, etc.," indicating that some renovations or improvements have been made to the facilities.

In contrast to the positive experiences, another reviewer expressed significant disappointment with their meal. While they found the soup to be "very good," they reported that their egg roll was undercooked, the chicken was overcooked, and the fried rice was stale and also overcooked. This feedback highlights potential inconsistencies in food preparation, which can impact the dining experience negatively. It suggests that while some dishes might be well-executed, others may suffer from issues in cooking and freshness.

Regarding the environment, the reviews provide limited information beyond the cleanliness concerns mentioned by one customer. As a long-established restaurant, China Village might have a more traditional or classic decor. The mention of upgraded bathroom fixtures suggests that some efforts have been made to update the facilities, but more comprehensive details about the overall ambiance are not available.

The service at China Village appears to be a strong point, with Linda being specifically praised for her friendliness, attentiveness, and efficiency. The willingness to accommodate dietary requests also indicates a customer-oriented approach. However, the contrasting feedback on food quality suggests that while the service might be reliable, the consistency of the food preparation could be an area for improvement.

No specific promotional information was mentioned in the provided reviews. Given its long-standing presence, China Village may rely more on its reputation and word-of-mouth referrals. Local users interested in any current specials or promotions are advised to contact the restaurant directly at (719) 475-8299 or +1 719-475-8299.

In conclusion, China Village offers a Chinese dining experience in Colorado Springs with a history spanning over four decades. It is known for its friendly and efficient service, particularly highlighted by staff like Linda. The Pu Pu Platter with its mini grill, along with recommended dishes like the Sauteed Wonderful Chicken and Green Jade Shrimp, appear to be popular choices. However, potential customers should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding food quality consistency and the reported cleanliness issues. While the restaurant has a long-standing presence and positive mentions of specific dishes and service, addressing the concerns raised in the negative review and focusing on consistent food preparation and maintaining a clean environment could further enhance its appeal to local diners. For those looking for a restaurant with a history and some unique offerings, China Village is worth considering, but it might be wise to inquire about recent experiences or specials when making a reservation or ordering.

From the moment we walked in, service was outstanding. The waitress was super sweet and tentative to my kids, laughing and joking with them. The food came out pretty timely and the presentation they put into their plates was beautiful. I had a whole apple hand carved into a swan, lol. The food didn’t taste “fried” and “Americanized” the way typical Chinese takeout tastes.. it was all fresh, real ingredients. 10/10 recommend. I’ll definitely be back!

Been eating at this restaurant for 24 years. Tried so many different Chinese restaurants in town and China village is the best and always consistent ! Seafood with garlic sauce is my favorite and beef with peppers. The best hot and sour soup and pu pu platter too.

This place is a hidden gem of a Chinese restaurant in Colorado Springs. The atmosphere is awesome and the decor is amazing inside the place. It doesn't lack in flavor on its food either, I've been twice and loved everything I ordered. I'll be going back again and making this a regular on my list. If you're in the area and you want great Chinese food, go here you won't be disappointed!
