Welcome to China Village, your local Chinese restaurant situated at 8501 Gravenstein Hwy, Cotati, CA 94931, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category in Cotati, China Village aims to provide the local community with a range of Chinese culinary options. You can contact them at (707) 795-8810 or via their mobile number +1 707-795-8810 for inquiries or to place orders for dine-in or takeout.

China Village operates as a full-service restaurant, offering both dine-in and takeout services to cater to the diverse preferences of its customers. This allows patrons to enjoy their meals within the restaurant's ambiance or to conveniently take their food to enjoy elsewhere. Based on customer reviews, the restaurant boasts a welcoming and tastefully decorated interior, and it is described as expansive in size, suggesting ample seating for diners.

According to one customer who dined inside, China Village features a "welcoming" atmosphere with "tasteful decor" and is "expansive in size." Another reviewer who visited for lunch also noted that it is a "big restaurant" with a "nice interior" and "nice Chinese decor." These descriptions suggest that China Village offers a pleasant and spacious environment for dining, likely aiming to create a comfortable and visually appealing setting for its guests.

The services at China Village include dine-in service with waitstaff attending to customers at their tables. One reviewer described the service as "ok," indicating a generally acceptable level of attentiveness. Takeout service is also available, as one customer mentioned placing "to go" orders on two separate occasions. While not explicitly stated, it is reasonable to assume that standard payment methods are accepted. Information regarding additional services such as online ordering or delivery is not provided in the reviews, so it would be best to contact the restaurant directly for confirmation.

Customer reviews regarding the food quality at China Village present a somewhat mixed perspective. One reviewer, who tried the restaurant on three separate occasions (once dine-in and twice takeout), described the food as "mediocre" on each visit. They found the Chow Fun to be tasty with plenty of vegetables but noted that it was "quite oily." The fried egg rolls were particularly criticized as being unlike any they had tasted before, with three times the amount of dough, rubbery texture, and not crispy. This reviewer also mentioned that the portion sizes were decent but "a tad on the pricier side." Additionally, they observed a cook smoking in the parking lot upon leaving, raising a concern about hand hygiene.

Another customer who visited for lunch echoed concerns about the food quality, describing it as "middle of the road." They ordered the General Tso's chicken and Orange beef lunch special with Chow Mein noodles. They advised against the General Tso's chicken, characterizing it as "nothing but deep-fried dough balls with a tiny sliver of meat." The Orange Beef was described as "ok" but "soggy and doughy," suggesting improper frying in oil that was not hot enough. This reviewer expressed hope that the kitchen was having an off day but, based on their experience, gave the restaurant a three-star rating.

Despite these criticisms, the first reviewer did note that "it looks like many others love this restaurant," suggesting that there might be some specialty items or that other customers have had more positive experiences. This highlights the subjective nature of taste and the possibility of menu items varying in quality or appeal.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available from the provided reviews. Restaurants often offer lunch specials, combination deals, or other promotions to attract customers. The second reviewer mentioned ordering a "lunch special," indicating that such offers might exist. Local users interested in China Village might want to check the restaurant's menu for any advertised specials or contact them directly to inquire about current promotions.

For local users in Cotati seeking a Chinese restaurant with a spacious and tastefully decorated interior, China Village offers an appealing environment. However, the recent customer reviews raise concerns about the consistency and quality of the food, with specific criticisms regarding the fried egg rolls, General Tso's chicken, and the preparation of the Chow Fun and Orange Beef. While one reviewer noted that many others seem to love the restaurant, the detailed feedback provided suggests that potential customers should be aware of the reported issues and perhaps inquire about popular or recommended dishes before ordering.

In conclusion, China Village in Cotati provides a welcoming and spacious setting for diners and offers both dine-in and takeout services. However, recent customer reviews indicate potential inconsistencies in food quality, with some dishes receiving significant criticism. While some customers may have positive experiences, it is advisable for local users to consider the detailed feedback provided and perhaps explore specific menu items based on recommendations or inquire with the restaurant about their specialties.

I’ve given this place 3 tries. Once I dined inside and twice to go. The restaurant is expansive in size & welcoming with tasteful decor. The food however on each occasion was mediocre. The chow fun was tasty with plenty of veggies yet quite oily. The fried egg rolls were not good at all. I have never tasted any like this before- it was 3 times the amount of dough and they were rubbery and not crispy. The portion size is decent yet a tad on the pricier side. On my way out I saw the cook smoking in the parking lot- hoping we washes his hands. It looks like many others love this restaurant. Perhaps there are some specialty items?

Went there for lunch. Big restaurant, nice interior with nice Chinese decore. Service was ok. However, the quality of food was middle of the road. We ordered General Tso's chicken and Orange beef lunch special with Chow Mein noodles. I advise against General Tso's chicken as its nothing but deep-fried dough balls with a tiny sliver of meat. The Orange Beef was ok but on the soggy and doughy side (it seemed as if they tried to fry it in moderately hot oil). I am hoping that the kitchen was having a bad day. For now, just three stars.

We made the seven hour drive from Northern California specifically to come dine at this restaurant. We visited in the summer and fell in love with the food and staff then. We drove down, met up with my sister and brother in law and indulged in what was once again a most amazing meal! Everything was perfect. Hot and fresh food and our waitress was very accommodating. We were a table of six and ordered the dinner for 6. We added in a couple extra sides as well. Once again, this place outdid itself with quality and quantity! The portions are big and we took so much with us to go after having our fill there. The fried eggplant is delicious and my kids have fallen in love with it! Everything is very delicious. We will be making this drive again soon to enjoy your offerings. Thank you for having such fantastic foods!

My favorite Chines food place around town. The servers are super nice, Jessica is our favorite, and Allen is a close second. The food is always fresh and consistent. Love their lunch special, rice or chow mein, and one item, including soup and appetizers, for about 12$. My personal favorite is the princess chicken with fried rice. My wife loves the spicy green beans and chow mein. The spring rolls are a must have as well, and don't forget to order the spicy mustard, a great way to clean out your sinuses.

Food is great but service is bad. What's worse is that the waitress literally held us hostage until we gave her tip. We gave her to start $10 tip she actually threw them on the table and said now a days you have to leave minimum of 18% tips so 10 dollars is not enough and literally won't let us leave until my husband paid her $22 tip.
