Situated at the southeast corner of a well-known intersection, a hub connecting Center and Sir Francis Drake from Fairfax towards the Miracle Mile, China Villa presents an intriguing contrast to its busy surroundings. This spaciousness, combined with the cleanliness reported, contributes to a pleasant dining environment.

One of the highlights mentioned in the reviews is the quality of the food. A customer who enjoyed a substantial veggie lunch found it to be good, and was also pleased with the reasonable price of the check, especially after seeing the menu prices. This reviewer specifically craves their shrimp fried rice and chicken chow mein, describing them as the best they've tasted since childhood, attributing this to a "real authentic taste." This is a significant endorsement, suggesting that China Villa excels in preparing these classic Chinese-American dishes with a genuine flavor that resonates with those seeking an authentic culinary experience.

Furthermore, this reviewer with a particular preference regarding fried rice ingredients appreciates that China Villa's shrimp fried rice is made without peas and carrots, which they consider a "no-no." They also highlight the flavorful nature of the rice itself, noting that it's not simply white rice with mixed-in ingredients, but rather infused with taste. This attention to detail in the preparation of even seemingly standard dishes like fried rice speaks to a commitment to quality and flavor.

The fact that a San Rafael resident is willing to travel to San Anselmo, the next city over, specifically for China Villa's food underscores the high regard in which they hold the restaurant's offerings. What's at the San Anselmo hub🚦? At the southeast corner that you can't miss from Center or Sir Francis Drake from Fairfax waiting for the green light to get on the Miracle Mile is CHINA VILLA. It is interesting for how such a quiet place with not much more sound than a light fish tank fountain is just a wall away from what is considered by many Marinites to be Marin's noisiest and busiest intersection. NEARBY parking is a lot easier than it looks. It is a standard clean and decorated Chinese restaurant that has an ample amount of space for anyone to walk in for dinner (I came when it was empty for lunch). The food is good and Jenny, the waitress, is funny. It was a substantial veggie lunch that I had. I had fun taking pictures along with my lunch. For that rather big lunch that I had, the check was quite reasonable after I even saw the prices on the menu. Shüniû!! (Looked up hub in Chinese).

This is the only Chinese food I eat in San Rafael. Sometimes, I crave it. Their shrimp fried rice, and chicken chow mein is the best I've tasted since I was a kid. That real authentic taste. Plus, I don't have to worry about peas and carrots in my fried rice (that's a no-no). Their rice is full of flavor. You know it when you see it because it's not white with stuff mixed in. I absolutely love this place. It's in the next city over but it's worth it...

They seriously need to fix the menus. I supposedly order a dish that costs 8 bucks. Went there for pick up & came out with -19 dollars on my bank account. I also asked how much would it be if I added veggies to my plate they said about 15 bucks total so I said no just have whatever I ordered first. But I guess it didn’t make any difference. Bad service

No. Just don’t. Spent $80 on very soggy very gross general tso’s / orange chicken / king pao chicken. Tried to improve a few dishes with an air fryer but failed. Never ordering ever again.
