Welcome to China Town Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant located at 8024 Augusta Rd C in Piedmont, South Carolina (zip code 29673). As a Chinese restaurant serving the Piedmont community, China Town Restaurant offers a variety of Chinese dishes for local residents and visitors. Based on recent customer reviews, the experience at China Town Restaurant appears to be somewhat mixed, with notable feedback on both the food quality and the friendliness of the staff. It's important for potential customers to consider these different perspectives when deciding whether to dine here.

One customer expressed concerns about the freshness of the food, specifically mentioning a suspicion that some items were recooked. They shared their experience of ordering rice with wings and stated that the wings appeared to be refried, noting their small size and dark color. This reviewer felt strongly that Chinese food establishments should prioritize serving fresh, high-quality food, especially considering the money customers spend. While they were willing to eat the wings, their husband was hesitant due to the appearance. Interestingly, despite this concern about the food, the reviewer did note that the staff was "really nice" and "friendly," indicating a positive aspect of the service.

This review highlights a potential issue with food preparation practices at China Town Restaurant, suggesting that at least on one occasion, a customer received food that they believed was not freshly cooked. This is a significant concern for any dining establishment, as customers generally expect freshly prepared meals. However, the positive feedback about the staff's friendliness provides a contrast, suggesting that while there might be inconsistencies in the kitchen, the front-of-house service is appreciated.

In contrast, another customer had a very positive experience with the food at China Town Restaurant. They mentioned that the Chinese food they received looked "completely different" from what they usually encounter, which might suggest a unique style or presentation of their dishes. Despite the unfamiliar appearance, this reviewer was highly impressed with the taste. They specifically praised the chicken chow mein as "absolutely delicious," highlighting its "amazing flavor," "crispy veggies," and "fantastic broth." This indicates that at least some of China Town Restaurant's dishes are flavorful and well-prepared.

The same reviewer also raved about the black pepper chicken, describing it as "unbelievably tasteful" and "fried to perfection" with "delicious fried rice." This strong positive feedback on two different chicken dishes suggests that China Town Restaurant has the potential to deliver excellent quality and taste in its food. The combination of perfectly fried chicken and flavorful fried rice further adds to the positive impression of this particular customer's meal.

The significant difference between these two reviews – one expressing concern about recooked food, and the other praising the delicious and flavorful dishes – suggests a possible inconsistency in food quality or perhaps different experiences based on the specific dishes ordered. Potential customers might find it helpful to try the dishes that received positive feedback, such as the chicken chow mein and black pepper chicken, while being mindful of the concerns raised about the freshness of other items like the wings.

As a Chinese restaurant within the platform category of Chinese Restaurants, China Town Restaurant likely offers a range of classic Chinese dishes, including various types of noodle dishes (such as chow mein), fried rice, and a selection of meat, poultry, and seafood entrees prepared with different sauces and cooking methods. The mention of wings suggests they might also offer some more casual or Americanized Chinese options. The environment of the restaurant is not described in the reviews, so it's difficult to comment on the ambiance or decor. Similarly, details about the services offered beyond takeout (which is implied by the mention of an order) and dine-in are not provided.

Features of China Town Restaurant, based on the reviews, appear to include the potential for exceptionally flavorful dishes like the chicken chow mein and black pepper chicken, as well as a friendly and nice staff. However, a potential drawback could be inconsistency in food freshness and preparation, as indicated by the concern about recooked wings. Any promotional information is absent from the provided feedback.

To get a better understanding of the environment and full range of services offered by China Town Restaurant, local users might want to visit the location or contact them directly. Inquiring about popular dishes or any daily specials could also provide more insight into their menu and current offerings. Given the contrasting reviews, personal experience might be the best way to determine if China Town Restaurant meets individual expectations for Chinese cuisine.

In conclusion, China Town Restaurant in Piedmont, SC, offers a Chinese dining experience with both positive and negative aspects highlighted in customer reviews. On the positive side, the staff is described as friendly, and dishes like the chicken chow mein and black pepper chicken have been praised for their delicious flavor and quality. However, there is a concern raised about the potential for recooked food, specifically mentioning refried wings. Local users considering China Town Restaurant might want to try some of the highly recommended dishes while being aware of the reported inconsistencies in food preparation. The friendly staff seems to be a consistent positive, which can contribute to a pleasant overall experience.

I mean I want them to know that we can tell when food has been recooked. I just want Chinese food establishments to consider our hard earn dollars we spend and stop serving us old recooked food. Is it too much to ask? I know the economy is hurting everyone but sheesh can we just have fresh great quality food? That’s all. I couldn’t add the picture but I ordered rice with wings and you could tell the wings were refried. There were so tiny and dark. My husband just don’t trust it but I had to willing to still have it. Really nice friendly staff though.

Never had Chinese food like this. It looked completely different from what I usually see. But don't let looks deceive you. The chicken chow mein was absolutely delicious. Amazing flavor, crispy veggies, fantastic broth. The black pepper chicken was unbelievablely tasteful. Fried to perfection with delicious fried rice.

I love the Asian lady who usually answers the phone so sweet, and energetic. The new white lady hasnt been rude or anything, but she doesn't come with that energy and authentic feeling from befor. But there food is still delicious, and when the other lady is there you get convenient deals like free drinks or sides with large orders. The new girl not so much. But still love this restaurant been coming for a few years now and still the only place I go for Chinese food. Even subpar customer service can't ruin their delicious food.

Just moved into neighborhood and tried this Chinese restaurant. The food was outstanding! We ordered Moo Shu Pork… fantastic! If you like Moo Shu, this is the real deal! The chicken fried rice was very good, too. We also ordered the hot n sour soup and it was fantastic. So was the Chicken noodle soup. For dessert we got the donuts and they were fresh and delicious. Excellent quality. Friendly service. We will be back!

Standard low quality American counter-style Chinese. Beef with broccoli was swimming in sauce with beef pieces having lots of sinue. The mei fan had an odd smell with too many noodles for the amount of beef. General tso’s had clearly been cooked, packed, refrigerated and reheated. Nice staff at the counter though.
