About China Town

China Town is a Chinese restaurant located at 13000 York Rd, Charlotte, NC 28273, USA. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, China Town offers a variety of Chinese dishes to the Charlotte community. They can be contacted at (704) 588-8190 or via mobile at +1 704-588-8190 for inquiries or to place orders.

Recent customer reviews of China Town present a mixed picture regarding food quality, menu accuracy, and customer service. One reviewer, in an update dated 11/18, expressed significant disappointment with their order of Mongolian Beef. They noted that the dish received was not prepared in the traditional style, which typically includes beef with green onion, and sometimes onion and bell pepper. Instead, the reviewer stated that China Town served them a "remix" that deviated considerably from the expected ingredients. This led to high disappointment and the reviewer's indication that they would likely not return, suggesting a potential issue with the restaurant's adherence to standard recipes.

Another customer had a more positive initial impression regarding the freshness and temperature of the food, stating, "Food was very fresh and hot." They ordered Sesame chicken and General Tso chicken, both of which were described as "tasty." However, this reviewer also pointed out a notable similarity between the two dishes, mentioning, "I’ve never had general tso that taste just like sesame chicken. I’m pretty sure they are using the same sauce for both dishes." This observation suggests a potential lack of distinct flavor profiles between different menu items. The same review also noted that the egg rolls were hot but did not taste fresh, indicating a possible inconsistency in the quality of different parts of their meal.

In contrast to these experiences, a third reviewer reported significant issues with their order and subsequent customer service. This customer ordered four meals but only received three. Upon returning to the restaurant to inquire about the missing meal, they were met with "nothing but rudeness and disrespect." Furthermore, they found the food itself to be "bland and underwhelming," leading to an overall "very disappointing experience." This review raises serious concerns about order accuracy and the restaurant's approach to resolving customer issues.

Considering these recent reviews, local users should be aware of the potential for inconsistencies in food preparation, menu accuracy, and customer service when considering China Town. While one reviewer appreciated the freshness and temperature of their food, the lack of distinctiveness between dishes and the questionable freshness of the egg rolls are points to consider. The other two reviews highlight more significant issues, including deviations from standard recipes, order inaccuracies, and poor customer service when addressing these problems.

The provided reviews do not offer any insights into the environment or ambiance of China Town. Therefore, no objective description of the restaurant's interior decor, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere can be provided based on this information. Similarly, the reviews do not explicitly detail the services offered by China Town, such as whether they provide dine-in, takeout, or delivery options. Understanding these services would be helpful for local users in determining the convenience and accessibility of this Chinese restaurant.

In terms of specific features or specialties, the reviews do not highlight any particular dishes or aspects of China Town that stand out positively. The negative feedback regarding the Mongolian Beef not being prepared traditionally and the similarity in sauces between the Sesame Chicken and General Tso Chicken does not suggest any unique culinary strengths. The blandness reported by one reviewer further detracts from any potential positive features.

Finally, there is no information within these reviews regarding any current promotional offers, discounts, or special deals that China Town might be running. Therefore, local users cannot assess any potential value-added aspects based on the provided feedback.

In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for China Town in Charlotte, NC, present a concerning picture with issues reported in menu accuracy, food quality consistency, and customer service. While some aspects like the initial freshness and temperature of certain dishes were noted positively, significant drawbacks such as non-traditional recipe preparation, lack of distinct flavors between dishes, potentially non-fresh items, order inaccuracies, and rude customer service have also been reported. Local users should carefully consider these points when deciding whether to patronize China Town. Without further information or more positive recent feedback, it is challenging to offer a strong recommendation. Potential customers may want to seek more up-to-date reviews or consider other Chinese restaurant options in the Charlotte area.

Update 11/18 - I ordered Mongolian Beef and what they gave me was a remix. Mongolian beef is typically beef with green onion, sometimes onion and bell pepper. What they gave me was NOT Mongolian beef, it was something they made up. Highly disappointed and prob won’t be going back Food was very fresh and hot. We order Sesame chicken and General Tso chicken. They both were tasty but I’ve never had general tso that taste just like sesame chicken. I’m pretty sure they are using the same sauce for both dishes. The egg rolls were hot but didn’t taste fresh.

I ordered four meals last night and made sure to confirm this multiple times before paying. However, I only received three. Wanting to clarify the situation, I returned today to ask about the missing meal, only to be met with nothing but rudeness and disrespect. On top of that, the food itself was bland and underwhelming. Very disappointing experience overall.

Pretty good chinese food in the steele creek area. I wouldn't call the szechuan wontons authentic szechuan style wontons but they were decent. It's just wontons in a mild brown sauce. Food is decent just enough food portioned out. Quick service. Was done within minutes.

Crab Rangoon barely filled with any cream cheese and NO SAUCE! Ordered three times now from Chinatown. I hate they charge $3 more for lo-mein (vs rice) but their Kung-Pow was delicious! Green peppers are not for me, but thankfully they gladly leave items out. They don’t over sauce their foods, which is so different than most Chinese restaurants. They need to clean up their restaurant and serve better quality food.

The food choices are limited, and while hot, fast, and fresh, it’s bland and merely mediocre. I ordered a spicy dish extra spicy and it barely registered. Don’t bother dining in because you’ll still be eating out of a to-go box with plastic utensils and packet sauces.
