About China Town

Welcome to China Town, a Chinese restaurant located at 303 Venture Dr in Brunswick, Georgia. As a member of the Chinese Restaurant category, China Town has historically served the local community with a variety of Chinese dishes. However, recent online reviews suggest a significant shift in the quality of food and ingredients, reportedly coinciding with a change in ownership. Potential customers should be aware of these recent sentiments when considering dining at or ordering from China Town.

One customer shared a positive experience, noting that the food was "great," served "hot and fresh," and that the staff, particularly a lady who consistently checked on them, was "super sweet." This reviewer acknowledged that while it might not be "the best place in the world," it was a great option for those seeking something to eat, praising both the food and the service. This review suggests that at some point, China Town was capable of providing a satisfactory dining experience with attentive and friendly service.

However, more recent feedback indicates a significant downturn in the restaurant's quality. One reviewer stated that it "seems" the owners have changed, and with this change, the ingredients used have "definitely changed for the worse." They specifically highlighted a decline in the quality of shrimp, noting that the restaurant "used to use large, quality shrimp" but now uses "tiny frozen farm raised ones with zero flavor." This represents a substantial downgrade in a key ingredient for many Chinese dishes. Furthermore, this reviewer found the Crab Rangoon to be "inedible" and the Honey Chicken to be "stringy and tough," indicating broader issues with the preparation and quality of multiple dishes. They expressed strong disappointment with their food.

Adding to this sentiment, another very brief review simply stated, "The old owners were great, the food was always good. Not anymore. 😔" This concise comment corroborates the idea that a change in ownership has negatively impacted the quality of the food at China Town, particularly when compared to past experiences under previous management.

Based on these recent reviews, several key points emerge regarding China Town:

  • Recent Decline in Food Quality: Multiple reviewers suggest a significant drop in food quality, particularly after a change in ownership.
  • Deterioration of Key Ingredients: The quality of shrimp has reportedly decreased substantially.
  • Issues with Specific Dishes: Crab Rangoon was described as inedible, and Honey Chicken as stringy and tough.
  • Nostalgia for Previous Standards: Former patrons remember a time when the food was consistently good under the old owners.
  • Historically Positive Service: At least one older review praised the friendly and attentive service.

Given the strong negative feedback regarding the recent food quality, potential customers should be aware of the reported issues with ingredients and preparation. While past experiences might have been positive, current reviews suggest a considerable decline.

Information regarding the environment of China Town is limited. The positive review mentions being served hot and fresh food at their table, implying the existence of a dine-in area. However, neither review provides details about the restaurant's ambiance, decor, or overall cleanliness. Located at 303 Venture Dr in Brunswick, GA, the restaurant is situated in a commercial area. Local users interested in dining in would need to visit the location to form their own opinion about the environment, keeping in mind the recent negative feedback regarding food quality which might also extend to other aspects of the establishment.

In terms of services, China Town appears to offer both dine-in and takeout options, as suggested by the reviews. The positive review mentions being served at a table, while the negative reviewer took their order to experience the poor quality at home. It is not explicitly stated whether they offer delivery services. Customers interested in delivery options would need to contact China Town directly using the provided phone numbers: (912) 262-6505 and +1 912-262-6505.

No specific promotional information is available in the provided reviews. To learn about any special offers, discounts, or changes to their menu, especially in light of the reported change in ownership and ingredient quality, local users are advised to contact the restaurant directly via phone. It would be prudent to inquire about the current sourcing of ingredients and preparation methods before placing an order or dining in.

To gain a more comprehensive understanding of China Town's current offerings, it would be helpful to have access to their updated menu. Typical Chinese restaurants feature a wide variety of dishes, and knowing what is currently being offered and the ingredients used would be valuable information for potential customers, especially in light of the reported changes in quality.

In conclusion, China Town in Brunswick, GA, has received mixed recent reviews. While past customers recall a restaurant with good food and service under previous ownership, recent feedback indicates a significant decline in food quality, particularly concerning the ingredients used and the preparation of certain dishes, reportedly following a change in ownership. The restaurant likely offers both dine-in and takeout services, but delivery is unconfirmed. Potential customers should be aware of these recent negative sentiments and may want to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about their current standards and menu before making a decision to dine there.

Changed owners it seems, and definitely changed ingredients for the worse. They used to use large, quality shrimp and now it's just tiny frozen farm raised ones with zero flavor. Crab Rangoon was inedible, Honey Chicken was stringy and tough. Really disappointed with our food. The old owners were great, the food was always good. Not anymore. 😔

Food tastes great. I've tried the Mongolian beef w/ fried rice and an egg roll, a lot of onions and not enough beef. The egg roll is decent. The orange chicken was also good. No complaints here. It could get a bit warm inside the restaurant when waiting for your food.

Just don't do it no matter how hungry you are just don't do it. I do not recommend ordering here. From the minute I walked in it all went down hill our family's order was lost it was called in not ordered online. After re explaining what we ordered the nice women found the original order. The counter women was vey nice broken English only two people her and the guy cooking. Now with that the food was thrown out after we got home and opened the containers. The white rice was good the rest was just inedible Lo Mein; egg roll , steamed dumplings , pork spare ribs, & my order was unrecognizable not egg foo young. deep fried crispy deep, how deep holly crap!!! something in a plastic container that at first glance we thought some type of soup ? after a taste test that two went into the garbage. I would not feed this crap to a vulture and they can eat anything . Lot of money wasted that is on me don't let it happen to you.

First and last time going. I ordered sweet and sour pork with fried rice. A hour after eating I ended up with food poisoning. I know it was that because I only ate a light breakfast earlier in the day.
