Customer feedback regarding China Star, based on recent online reviews, indicates significant concerns about the quality and taste of their food. One customer who purchased the combination rice described it as "horrible," specifically noting that the rice was dry, lacked seasoning, and the chicken and shrimp were not properly cooked. They emphatically stated, "This is Horrible❗️❗️❗️"
Another customer shared a similarly negative experience after ordering the chicken fried rice, expecting a simple and satisfying dish. They reported that the fried rice had "literally has no season" and the chicken was completely white, tasting as if it had come straight from the freezer. Despite expressing to the person behind the counter their desire for chicken fried rice with plenty of seasoning, the dish they received was described as "probably the worst chicken fried rice I have ever eaten." This customer was so dissatisfied that they regretted not returning for a refund, given the 15-minute distance to their home. The use of an emotional tone ("🥹") further emphasizes their disappointment.
Based on these two recent reviews, there is no information provided about the environment of China Star. The focus of the feedback is solely on the quality of the food received, primarily through takeout orders. Therefore, local users cannot glean any insights into the ambiance or cleanliness of the dine-in area, if one is available.
Similarly, the reviews do not offer any details about the services provided beyond the fact that takeout is an option. There is no mention of the friendliness or efficiency of the staff, except for the interaction where one customer requested extra seasoning, which seemingly was not heeded in the preparation of their meal. Therefore, it is difficult to assess the overall quality of customer service based on the limited information available.
The features of China Star, as perceived through the lens of these recent reviews, are unfortunately negative. A lack of seasoning appears to be a significant issue, as highlighted in both the combination rice and the chicken fried rice. The poor cooking quality, with mentions of undercooked chicken and shrimp, and the freezer-like taste of the chicken in the fried rice, are also major concerns. The only potential feature that can be inferred is the availability of standard Chinese takeout dishes like combination rice and chicken fried rice, but the execution of these dishes, according to the feedback, is severely lacking.
There is no information whatsoever regarding any promotional offers at China Star. The negative experiences shared in the reviews do not provide any context for potential value deals or discounts that the restaurant might offer. Local users would need to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about any such promotions, although the recent feedback might make potential customers hesitant to do so.
In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for China Star in Gonzales, LA, paint a very negative picture regarding the quality of their food. Both reviewers reported significant issues with the taste, seasoning, and cooking of their meals, specifically the combination rice and chicken fried rice. The lack of positive feedback and the strong negative sentiments expressed raise serious concerns about the restaurant's current culinary standards. Local users considering ordering from China Star should be aware of these recent experiences, which suggest a high risk of receiving poorly prepared and unappetizing food. The absence of any information about the environment, services beyond takeout, or promotional offers further limits the ability to provide a more comprehensive introduction.
As a platform dedicated to providing local users with detailed and objective information about Chinese restaurants, we must emphasize the overwhelmingly negative feedback received for China Star in Gonzales. The reports of dry, unseasoned rice, undercooked seafood, and freezer-tasting chicken in staple dishes like combination rice and chicken fried rice are significant red flags. Potential customers are strongly advised to consider these recent experiences before placing an order. Without any positive feedback to balance these negative reviews, and with no information available on the environment, services, or promotions, it is challenging to recommend China Star based on the currently available information. Local residents may want to explore other Chinese dining options in the Gonzales area that have garnered more positive and reliable reviews.

I just bought the combination rice from here & it’s horrible. Rice dry, no seasoning, chicken not cook or the shrimps… This is Horrible❗️❗️❗️
I went to this place for something simple, CHICKEN FRIED RICE🤦🏾♀️. When I tell you it had literally has no season, the chicken was completely white. It tasted like straight freezer. When I talk to the lady behind the counter, I expressed I wanted a chicken fried rice with plenty of seasoning, and she said she’ll take care of it. She Couldn’t have understood because this was probably the worst chicken fried rice I have ever eaten. If I didn’t live 15 minutes away I would have went back and got my money.🥹
Ordered the Szechuan beef with fried rice & the sesame chicken with fried rice it was terrible. Rice was unseasoned and the sauce with the sesame chicken was very thick and unappetizing. The beef didn’t taste like beef aswell, I was highly disappointed..
It was amazing as much as most people think it's a really run down place it's actually, really good food. The service is great. The only complaint is the environment because it not fancy or at least like McDonald's but if you like food that tastes great. While not looking like a nice place the food is a 10 out of 10 for me.
The food is Nasty, don’t get the Kung pao chicken, it tastes horrible.
