About China Star Express

China Star Express is a Chinese restaurant located at 1785 Palo Verde Ave, Long Beach, CA 90815, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, China Star Express aims to provide convenient and quick service for those seeking Chinese cuisine in the Long Beach area. They can be contacted at (562) 493-5962 or via their mobile number +1 562-493-5962 for inquiries or to place orders, likely for takeout and potentially delivery.

Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at China Star Express appear to be somewhat mixed, with some aspects receiving positive feedback while others have drawn criticism. One reviewer expressed significant disappointment with the quality of the orange chicken, stating that it consisted mostly of breading with only a few large pieces of chicken. This suggests a potential issue with the balance of ingredients in this particular dish, which is a popular item at many Chinese restaurants. However, the same reviewer had a very positive experience with the teriyaki jalapeño wings, describing them as having "hands down the best flavor." This indicates that some of their specialty items might be well-received.

The first reviewer also noted the proportion of rice to chow mein in their order, stating that they received 70% rice and 30% chow mein. This information could be useful for customers who have a preference for one over the other, suggesting that the standard combination might lean heavily towards rice.

In contrast, another reviewer had an overwhelmingly positive experience at China Star Express. They mentioned visiting the restaurant twice and receiving a recommendation from a friend, indicating that word-of-mouth referrals might be a significant source of their business. This reviewer also noted the restaurant's convenient location, describing it as a "really nice walk from campus," suggesting it is a popular spot for students in the area. A key highlight for this customer was the generous portion sizes, stating that the amount of food was so substantial that it could provide "four meals." This perception of value for money could be a major draw for budget-conscious customers.

Furthermore, the second reviewer praised the service as "really awesome and fast," indicating efficient operations and friendly staff. This is an important factor for a quick-service restaurant like China Star Express. They also mentioned enjoying the Thai tea, suggesting that the restaurant offers a selection of beverages beyond standard soft drinks.

Information regarding the environment of China Star Express is limited in the provided reviews. The mention of it being a "quick" restaurant and the focus on takeout and delivery suggest a functional rather than elaborate dining space. The fact that it's popular and "popping off" might imply a bustling atmosphere, especially during peak hours. However, without more specific details, a comprehensive description of the environment is not possible.

The services offered at China Star Express likely include takeout, given the nature of the establishment and the comments from reviewers who took their food to go. The positive mention of fast service aligns with the "Express" in their name, suggesting efficiency in order preparation. Whether they offer dine-in options is not explicitly stated, but the focus on quick service and the large portion sizes might cater more towards takeout. Delivery services are also not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, so local users would need to inquire directly about this option.

Key features of China Star Express, based on the customer reviews, include the potentially standout flavor of their teriyaki jalapeño wings and the generous portion sizes that some customers find to offer great value. The fast and awesome service, particularly appreciated by one reviewer, also seems to be a positive aspect of their operation. However, the inconsistency in the quality of dishes like the orange chicken is a point of concern that potential customers should be aware of.

Currently, the provided reviews do not contain any information about specific promotional offers or discounts at China Star Express. Local users interested in knowing about any specials, student discounts (given its proximity to a campus), or other promotions should contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers. Quick-service restaurants like this often have daily specials or combo deals that might appeal to local customers.

In conclusion, China Star Express in Long Beach, CA, offers a mixed bag of experiences based on the available customer reviews. While some customers praise the fast service and generous portion sizes, particularly recommending the teriyaki jalapeño wings, others have expressed disappointment with the quality of certain dishes like the orange chicken. Its proximity to a campus might make it a popular spot for students seeking large portions at a potentially reasonable price. For local users considering China Star Express, it might be worth trying some of their specialty items like the wings, but being aware of potential inconsistencies in other dishes is advisable. To get the most up-to-date information on their menu, services (dine-in, takeout, delivery), and any current promotions, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.

Really disappointed with the orange chicken quality. Most of the orange chicken was breading and a few big pieces. The teriyaki jalapeño wings hands down has the best flavor. They serve you 70% rice and 30% chow mien.

really awesome place! Been here twice. Got recommended from friend, really nice walk from campus & it’s popping off because they pack it with so much food and I feel like I can have four meals with it, and the service was really awesome and fast! Thai tea was good as well!

My go-to is the barbecued pork with steamed rice. Been eating there since I was a kid always loved the quality and freshness.

Very tasty dishes at a very reasonable price. It’s not health food so don’t expect that if you are coming for chinese. The Pho is a good option though. I got the 3 combo plate + green tea slush for under $15. I highly recommend the slush!!

One of the best bang for your buck places, so clutch especially for college students! Got the 3 item combo with orange chicken, kung pao chicken, and broccoli beef, and portions were very generous.
