Serving the local community as a Chinese restaurant, China Sails offers a variety of dishes and can be contacted for orders or inquiries at (978) 686-8808 or via their mobile number +1 978-686-8808. For residents of Lawrence and the surrounding areas looking for a Chinese dining experience, China Sails presents itself as an option with both positive and nuanced feedback from its customers.
Examining the recent customer reviews provides valuable insights into the offerings and characteristics of China Sails. One reviewer offered a detailed perspective, noting that while the food is "good," it seems to lack a certain "traditional Chinese food flavor" that they have experienced at other establishments. They speculated that this might be due to a lighter use of sauces and soy sauce, contributing to a "fresh element" in the food. Specifically, they mentioned the General Gao chicken as being "airy" and lacking "chunky meat" with a flavor that is "not exciting but you can eat it." On a positive note, they appreciated that the rice was "not oily" and identified the "chicken teriyaki" as the standout dish, describing it as "very juicy and chunky" and "very unique to other places." This suggests that China Sails might have its own distinct style of preparing some classic dishes, which may appeal to some palates while not fully satisfying those seeking a more traditional flavor profile. The reviewer concluded that while China Sails is an option for Chinese food, they would personally prefer a place with more pronounced soy sauce-based flavors and a stronger traditional Chinese culinary approach.
In contrast, another reviewer had a highly positive experience, specifically praising the "tofu with white sauce" and the "veggie fried rice" as "amazing!" This positive feedback highlights the quality and taste of these vegetarian options. Additionally, this reviewer noted the presence of "fresh veggies" in their meal and appreciated the "great portion size," indicating that China Sails offers generous servings of fresh ingredients in at least some of its dishes. This suggests that while some dishes might deviate from traditional flavor profiles, the quality of ingredients, particularly vegetables, is a strength.
Considering these reviews, China Sails appears to be a Chinese restaurant that offers a somewhat different take on traditional flavors, potentially using a lighter touch with sauces. While this approach may result in a perceived freshness, it might not fully satisfy those seeking a more classic Chinese taste. However, the restaurant does have its strengths, notably the highly praised and unique chicken teriyaki, as well as well-received vegetarian options like the tofu with white sauce and veggie fried rice, which are noted for their freshness and generous portions.
Information regarding the environment of China Sails is not explicitly provided in the customer reviews. There is no mention of the restaurant's ambiance, size, or whether it primarily focuses on dine-in or takeout services. Without this information, it is difficult to describe the dining environment. Local users may need to visit the location or inquire directly to understand the atmosphere and setup of the restaurant.
The services offered by China Sails likely include both takeout and dine-in, as is typical for many Chinese restaurants. While delivery is not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, it is a common service offered by many similar establishments, so it would be advisable for local users to inquire if delivery is an option provided by China Sails. The contrasting reviews focus primarily on the food itself, with no specific comments made about the efficiency or friendliness of the service.
Features of China Sails include a menu that offers a mix of familiar Chinese dishes and potentially some unique interpretations, such as the highly praised chicken teriyaki. The use of fresh ingredients is highlighted in one review, particularly concerning the vegetables. The portion sizes are also noted as being "great" for at least some dishes. A potential area for consideration, based on one review, is the flavor profile of some of the more traditional dishes, which might not align with the expectations of all customers seeking a classic Chinese taste.
Currently, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or discounts at China Sails. The customer reviews do not mention any special deals, combo meals, or loyalty programs. The environment of the restaurant is not described in the available information, and while takeout is likely offered, the availability of dine-in and delivery services would need to be confirmed directly with China Sails. Key features include potentially fresh ingredients, good portion sizes, and a standout chicken teriyaki dish. Customer Reviews
They are good but it lacks a traditional Chinese food flavor. Maybe they don't know the secret to those flavors, some places around lack those flavors I've noticed and some have it more intensified. The rice is the only thing that has that traditional flavor but is subtle. Overall the food has a fresh element to it, something about it, probably because they're light on sauces and soy sauce. The general Gao chicken seems airy and lack chunky meat and the flavor isn't exciting but you can eat it. The rice isn't oily which is great. The best thing they have in my opinion is their chicken teriyaki which is very juicy and chunky and melts in your mouth, very unique to other places. Overall if I want Chinese food I'd prefer a place that has more soy unique soy sauce based dishes with the rice and a traditional Chinese food flavor with the right texture control for different items.
The tofu with white sauce and the veggie fried rice were amazing! Fresh veggies Great portion size
China Sails is my new favorite place to get my Chinese food fix. I have never been inside this location, I have ordered delivery from here a few times and it was delicious. Don’t think you can go wrong with anything they serve. But, my personal favorite is the Pu Pu Platter for one.
Terrible experience. I ordered orange chicken like i did two previous times, this time i got chicken fingers with red sauce on the side and mind you theyre very stingy with their food. i got extra chicken and crab rangoon and wasnt given the extra amount for the extra money i paid. I called back and the guy who answered the phone was giving me attitude and was rude. i asked why its wrong and he kept telling me that its supposed to be like that when the past 2 times i have ordered from here it was a nice lady and it was correct. overall terrible experience terrible food and has no flavor.
The food was not bad but they do not give a lot of food. Usually a dinner plate from any other Chinese restaurant gives you plenty for two and left overs. This place dinner barely was enough to feed my 6yr old. Had to go buy something else for us. The rice portion looked measured maybe 2 scoops. Crab rangoon gave 2. 2 chicken fingers. Oh and they are pricey - for the little food they gave.
