About China Rim

China Rim, situated at 455 NW Saltzman Rd # B in Portland, Oregon, operates as a Chinese Restaurant providing a range of culinary options, primarily for takeout based on the available customer reviews. For local users seeking Chinese cuisine in the Bethany area of Portland, China Rim presents itself as a convenient option with generally positive feedback regarding service and the taste of many of its dishes.

One customer highlighted the "great service" they received, noting that their food was ready upon arrival. They also praised the overall quality of the food as "very good," with one exception being the Pot Stickers, which they found to be "hard, thick and greasy." Despite this one negative experience with a specific appetizer, the reviewer stated that "the rest of my food was amazing" and enthusiastically recommended "everything on their menu." This suggests a high level of satisfaction with the majority of China Rim's offerings and a willingness to overlook one less-than-perfect item due to the overall positive experience.

Another reviewer shared their experiences with both in-person ordering and calling ahead for takeout, indicating that these are the primary ways they have utilized China Rim's services. They consistently found the staff to be "pleasant" and noted that the orders were prepared "pretty quickly." This aligns with the first review's positive comment about service efficiency. Crucially, this reviewer also described the food as "delicious," reinforcing the idea that China Rim excels in the taste of its main dishes. They specifically called out the "sesame beef" as "FANTASTIC" and highly recommended it. Interestingly, although the sesame beef is labeled as spicy, this reviewer, who considers themselves sensitive to spice, found it to be more of a "garlicky spicy" and not particularly hot. This is valuable information for those who might be hesitant to try spicy-labeled items. The reviewer's husband enjoyed the Kung Pao, and the "BBQ pork chow mein" was also described as "delicious." The only minor critique was that the BBQ pork itself was "a little dry" but was good with some sauce. Overall, this customer "absolutely recommend this adorable little place," indicating a strong positive impression of China Rim.

Based on the reviews, the environment of China Rim is not explicitly detailed in terms of decor or ambiance. However, the mention of it being an "adorable little place" by one reviewer suggests a cozy and perhaps smaller establishment. The focus in both reviews is primarily on the efficiency of takeout service and the quality of the food, implying that the environment might be secondary to these aspects for their customer base. The fact that one reviewer mentioned using a paper plate from their home (likely a humorous aside about eating takeout) further supports the notion that the primary mode of consumption for these reviewers is off-premises.

The services offered by China Rim clearly include takeout, with the option of ordering in person or calling ahead. The service is consistently described as "great" and "quick," with pleasant staff. While dine-in is not explicitly mentioned or reviewed, the existence of a physical location ("adorable little place") suggests that it might be an option, although the emphasis in the reviews is on the takeout experience. There is no mention of delivery services in the provided feedback.

The features of China Rim appear to be its delicious and well-prepared food, with standout dishes like the sesame beef and BBQ pork chow mein receiving high praise. The quick and efficient service provided by a pleasant staff is another significant feature. The value seems to be good, as customers are satisfied with their orders overall. However, the Pot Stickers were noted as a less successful item, being hard, thick, and greasy. It's also worth noting the reviewer's experience with the "spicy" sesame beef, which they found to be more garlicky than significantly hot, potentially making it appealing to a broader range of spice tolerance. The positive overall recommendations from both reviewers indicate that China Rim has a lot to offer in terms of its core dishes and service.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts at China Rim. The reviews focus on the regular menu items and the overall experience. To inquire about any current specials, lunch deals, or other promotions, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers.

In conclusion, China Rim in Portland seems to be a highly regarded Chinese restaurant, particularly for its takeout service. Local users can expect quick and great service from a pleasant staff. The food is generally described as delicious, with the sesame beef and BBQ pork chow mein being highly recommended. While one customer had a negative experience with the Pot Stickers, the overall consensus is positive, with one reviewer recommending everything on the menu. The "adorable little place" seems to prioritize efficient service and tasty food, making it a strong contender for those seeking reliable Chinese takeout in the NW Saltzman Road area of Portland. For those who are spice-sensitive but intrigued by the sesame beef, it might be worth trying based on the description of its "garlicky spicy" flavor.

The service was great, I got there and my food was ready. The food was very good, except I didn't like the Pot Stickers , it was hard, thick and greasy but the rest of my food was amazing. The paper plate was a plate from my home. Lol. I tried a little of everything. I definitely recommend everything on their menu.

We've gone in to order and have also called ahead, but have only gotten our food to go. The staff has been pleasant and they make the orders pretty quickly. The food is delicious. The sesame beef is FANTASTIC. I highly recommend. It's labeled as spicy, I am a wuss when it comes to anything spicy. Its more of a garlicky spicy. My husband pointed out it the label and I was confused because I didn't find it spicy at all. He got the Kung Pao, he really liked it. The BBQ pork chow mein was delicious. The BBQ pork itself was a little dry but good with some sauce. Over all, I absolutely recommend this adorable little place.

I searched high and low for Chinese food restaurant close to my dad’s house and in the parking lot I ordered three things. One of the things wasn’t on the menu, but they did make it anyway and it was Sprout pork chow mein once my dad got home he tasted the sprout chow mein and he said it was very fresh. He also ordered sweet-and-sour pork, Beef and broccoli which he loved all of it hands-down great service will definitely be back again and I definitely recommend this place. They’ve been a business 22 or 27 years. They got great reviews and they got another one from us. Thank you so much for going out of your way to make my 90 year old dad‘s lunch special.

My friend and I have been coming here for a while now and I am just getting around to writing this review. The food here is always delicious and I've never had an issue. Everything is fresh and the veggies are always cooked perfectly. I always get the chicken with vegetables and that includes strips of tender chicken and carrots and broccoli and water chestnuts & snow peas. If you like healthy and delicious food, and honestly who doesn't… I highly recommend this great, little restaurant. Ps...... I just learned they have been open 27 years and in today's marketplace, that is absolutely amazing !!!!! Stop in and show them some love, you won't be sorry.
