About China Restaurant

China Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at 2510 Somerset Center Dr in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Situated conveniently near the Food Lion Plaza off Stratford Rd and close to a Sheetz gas station, it is easily accessible for local residents. Customers can contact China Restaurant at (336) 768-8898 or their mobile number +1 336-768-8898 for inquiries about their menu, services, or to place orders. As a Chinese restaurant in Winston-Salem, China Restaurant offers takeout and delivery services through platforms like DoorDash, and also anticipates welcoming customers for dine-in experiences, although direct feedback on the in-house atmosphere and service is currently limited.

Based on recent customer reviews, the food quality at China Restaurant appears to be generally well-regarded, with some specific highlights and areas for potential improvement. One customer, who ordered through DoorDash due to feeling unwell, specifically praised the egg rolls, although they did not elaborate on the reasons for this positive assessment. They indicated an intention to update their review with feedback on the service and atmosphere upon a future in-person visit, suggesting that dine-in is an option offered by the restaurant.

Another reviewer focused on the wonton soup, a common benchmark for Chinese restaurants. They found the broth to be good but noted it lacked a certain depth of flavor, prompting them to add Sriracha sauce for more spice. Interestingly, they enjoyed the smaller size of the wontons and found them to be flavorful. However, in a subsequent order of wonton soup placed a week later via DoorDash, this same customer expressed significant disappointment. They reported that the wontons were very mushy and seemed to contain less filling than in their previous order. This inconsistency in the quality of the wonton soup, particularly concerning the texture and filling of the wontons, is a point that potential customers should be aware of.

In contrast to the mixed feedback on the wonton soup, China Restaurant received high praise for its hot and sour soup. One reviewer boldly claimed it to be the "best hot and sour soup anywhere in three counties," indicating a significant strength in this particular menu item. They further mentioned that this soup is consistently made by the same expert cook. This customer also reported that everything else they had ever ordered from China Restaurant was hot, fresh, delicious, and ready within 15 minutes of ordering, suggesting efficiency in their kitchen operations and a commitment to serving freshly prepared food.

The location of China Restaurant is also noted as a positive aspect by one reviewer, who appreciated its proximity (only 2 miles away) and easy accessibility from Stratford Rd, mentioning its location near a Sheetz within the Food Lion Plaza. This convenient location makes it a readily available option for residents in that area of Winston-Salem.

Considering the available reviews, China Restaurant seems to have some standout dishes, particularly the hot and sour soup, which has garnered exceptional praise. The egg rolls are also mentioned positively, albeit without specific details. However, there appears to be some inconsistency in the quality of the wonton soup, especially regarding the texture and filling of the wontons, based on repeat orders. The restaurant's service and atmosphere for dine-in customers remain largely unassessed in these reviews, as most feedback pertains to takeout and delivery experiences through DoorDash.

For local users in Winston-Salem considering China Restaurant, the strong recommendation for the hot and sour soup is a significant point in its favor. If this is a favorite dish, it might be worth trying based on the enthusiastic review. The positive mention of the egg rolls also suggests they could be a good appetizer choice. However, those planning to order wonton soup should be aware of the reported inconsistencies in its quality. The convenient location near Stratford Rd and within the Food Lion Plaza is a practical advantage for many residents.

The available information does not provide specific details about the restaurant's environment or ambiance for dine-in customers. The services confirmed are takeout and delivery via DoorDash, with dine-in also implied. Features highlighted by the reviews include the highly praised hot and sour soup, potentially excellent egg rolls, and the convenience of its location. The inconsistency in the wonton soup quality is a notable point to consider. There is no promotional information mentioned in the provided feedback.

In conclusion, China Restaurant in Winston-Salem offers Chinese cuisine with a convenient location and services including takeout and DoorDash delivery, with dine-in also likely available. The restaurant is highly recommended for its hot and sour soup and has also received praise for its egg rolls. However, there have been reports of inconsistency in the quality of the wonton soup, particularly concerning the texture and filling of the wontons in repeat orders. Local users may find China Restaurant to be a good option, especially if they are fans of hot and sour soup, but should be aware of the potential variability in other dishes based on the available feedback.

I can only give stars for the food as I ordered through Door Dash as I was feeling under the weather! I'll update the stars for service and atmosphere when I order in person. I ordered the wonton soup! (My go to for Chinese food!) The broth was good but, imo, lacking flavor so I added Sriracha sauce to give it more kick. The size of the wontons were small but I really enjoyed them that way. The wontons had great flavor. This was a perfect meal for a rainy damp day! Looking forward to stopping in and place another order! Another positive is that I'm only 2 miles from them! Easy to get to from Stratford Rd. Near Sheetz in the Food Lion Plaza! Update, one week later. I ordered wonton soup again, via Door Dash, and I was very disappointed with the wontons. This time the wontons were very mushy and it also seemed that there was less filling inside.

Best hot and sour soup anywhere in three counties. I have tried them all. Batch made by the same expert cook. Everything I’ve ever ordered here was hot, fresh & delicious and ready within 15 minutes of ordering.

Disappointed, food was band especially the fried rice. I had only 1 piece of pork in my fried rice. The egg roll was precooked and frozen and I watched them go from freezer to fryer. They were mushy. Prepackaged commercial fried noodles for the hot and sour soup were tasteless.

Standard Chinese restaurant in terms of food and flavor. But the amount of food is a GREAT value. For about $10, I got the standard tupperware container filled to the brim with chicken. And a side carton of white rice. The restaurant is clean, occupies the same parking lot as food lion, so if there's a little wait, you can always run to the grocery store to grab something for the house. Overall it is a great value, and good food.

Maybe 3 out of 20 restaurants deserve a rating above a 3. Most are just average and not above average or great. CHINA Is one of the exception. If you want atmosphere DO NOT BOTHER there is none. If you want anything but essential service DO NOT BOTHER. IF YOU WANT THE BEST CHINIES I HAVE HAD IN A YEAR GO THERE. There fried rice had vegetables in it. The chicken was full of high end vegetables and white meat chicken. There was zucchini, bamboo shoots, carrots, snow peas. ALL TOPPED WITH A NICE SAUCE. Not eye watering.
