Despite its unassuming appearance, it has garnered positive feedback from locals and visitors alike. As a "Chinese Restaurant" in a small town setting, China Restaurant offers a local interpretation of classic Chinese dishes, prepared and served by a family of Chinese descent.

Several reviewers have expressed pleasant surprise at the quality of the food offered at China Restaurant. One customer mentioned that they and their in-laws were "pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our meals," highlighting that the restaurant exceeded their initial expectations based on its unassuming nature and small-town location. This suggests that China Restaurant is a hidden gem that delivers satisfying culinary experiences.

A recurring theme in the feedback is the family-run aspect of the establishment and the owners' Chinese heritage. This personal touch often contributes to a unique dining experience and a sense of authenticity, albeit one that is adapted to local tastes and available ingredients.

One reviewer astutely addressed criticisms regarding the "authenticity" of the food. They pointed out that just as regional variations exist in American cuisine, different Chinese restaurants, especially those in smaller towns, often adapt their cooking based on locally available ingredients and the preferences of their clientele. This perspective encourages an appreciation for the local spin that China Restaurant puts on its dishes, rather than strictly adhering to a specific regional Chinese cuisine. The reviewer concluded that China Restaurant "uses what they have access to locally and make their dishes," and affirmed that "It is great!" This suggests a resourceful and flavorful approach to Chinese cooking in Plattsburg.

The sentiment that "Sometimes the most unassuming places can be such a great find!" encapsulates the positive impression that China Restaurant has left on some of its patrons. It highlights the idea that quality and enjoyment can be found in unexpected local establishments.

In terms of specific feedback on the food, one reviewer described it as "Good Chow, Quick & Reasonable 👍," praising the taste, speed of service, and affordability. Another customer enthusiastically mentioned their love for the "Garlic Chicken with a few Pot Stickers, maybe some WonTons too ☺," indicating that these are popular and well-liked items on the menu. This provides specific examples of dishes that customers have enjoyed.

One reviewer also humorously noted a personal preference regarding the spiciness of the food, mentioning the use of jalapenos versus real red hot peppers. However, they quickly added that "it's no big deal really... I'm sure more cry about hot than not 🥵," suggesting that the level of spice is generally mild or adaptable to most palates. This indicates a willingness to cater to a broader range of spice preferences.

The concluding remark from one satisfied customer, "No really, good job guys, thanks for sticking with us!!!" implies a sense of community support and appreciation for China Restaurant's presence in Plattsburg. It suggests that the restaurant has become a valued part of the local dining scene.

Unassuming little Chinese restaurant in a small town and you probably think, could it be any good? Well it is. My in-laws and I were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our meals. It is family run and yes they are of chinese descent. To address the people that rank this place as unauthentic tells me these people are used to their own local restaurant or to chain restaurants and don't realize that just like in our country different areas of the country put their own spin on main dishes, so does every other culture. This little place uses what they have access to locally and make their dishes. It is great! Sometimes the most unassuming places can be such a great find!

Good Chow, Quick & Reasonable 👍 Eye love the Garlic Chicken with a few Pot Stickers, maybe some WonTons too ☺ Sometimes I geek on the jalapenos vs real red hot peppers, but it's no big deal really... I'm sure more cry about hot than not 🥵 No really, good job guys, thanks for sticking with us!!!

Food is pretty good. Had old crab Rangoons 1 time but been great other then that. When you walk inside its almost like a flea market in the front which makes me wonder why anyone would actually sit at a table and eat. We only ever get carryout. Also I can see they are busy at times but I don't like that the kids take over the register when that happens-it was confusing when I went to pay said child.

Small place in a small town, with big flavor. Everything was delightful. My 8 yo insisted I rate it while sitting at the table. He gives it his stamp of approval
