These restaurants often offer a wide range of dishes, including popular American Chinese adaptations and potentially more traditional regional specialties, catering to various tastes and dining preferences within the local area. Based on customer reviews, China Queen offers both dine-in and takeout services, as well as a lunch buffet.
To provide a comprehensive introduction to China Queen Restaurant, it is essential to consider the recent feedback shared by its customers through online reviews. These reviews offer valuable insights into the dining experience, including the quality of specific dishes, the availability and quality of the buffet, pricing, and the overall service.
One customer reported a negative experience with the hot and sour soup, which was the first dish they had ordered from China Queen. Despite having eaten this soup numerous times at other restaurants, they found the version at China Queen to be extremely thick, with a slime-like appearance and a weird taste. This experience left them highly disappointed, suggesting a significant deviation from their expectations of this common Chinese soup.
In contrast, another customer who stopped by for a dine-in lunch reported a positive experience. They ordered the moo goo gai pan (chicken with mushroom) lunch special, which included vegetable fried rice. This customer found the food to be tasty and the price to be decent. They also noted the availability of a lunch buffet, mentioning that as of October 2022, the price was $9.99 for adults and that the buffet was open from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM. This reviewer described the service as quick and considered their overall experience to be decent.
These two reviews offer contrasting perspectives on China Queen Restaurant. One highlights a significant issue with a specific dish, the hot and sour soup, while the other praises the taste and price of a lunch special and notes the availability of a buffet with quick service. This suggests that the quality of different dishes or the overall dining experience might vary.
Based on the positive review, the environment of China Queen Restaurant includes a dining area suitable for a dine-in lunch. The mention of a lunch buffet suggests that they have the setup to accommodate a self-serve dining option during specific hours. The reviewer who dined in did not provide extensive details about the ambiance, but the fact that they chose to eat there indicates that the environment was acceptable for a lunch. The quick service also implies an efficient setup for both buffet and potentially regular menu orders.
The services offered by China Queen Restaurant include dine-in, as evidenced by the customer who had lunch there. They also offer takeout, as the negative review was likely based on a takeout order (though this is not explicitly stated). A significant service feature is their lunch buffet, available between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM, priced at $9.99 for adults as of October 2022. This buffet likely offers a variety of popular Chinese dishes for a fixed price, providing a convenient option for those looking for a quick and varied lunch. The quick service noted by the dine-in customer suggests efficiency in their order processing and food delivery, whether for dine-in or takeout.
Features of China Queen Restaurant include a menu with a variety of Chinese dishes, as indicated by the availability of hot and sour soup and moo goo gai pan. The lunch specials, such as the moo goo gai pan with vegetable fried rice, are also a feature, offering value-priced options during lunchtime. A key feature is their lunch buffet, which provides a wide selection of dishes for a set price, appealing to those who enjoy variety and quick service. The positive review mentioned tasty food, suggesting that the flavor of at least some of their dishes is well-received. The negative review, however, points out a potential issue with the preparation or recipe of their hot and sour soup.
Promotional information is somewhat limited in the provided reviews. The mention of a lunch special (moo goo gai pan with vegetable fried rice) implies that they offer value meals during lunchtime. The price of the adult lunch buffet ($9.99 as of October 2022) can also be considered promotional information, as it provides an all-you-can-eat option at a fixed cost. To learn about any other current promotions, such as discounts on specific dishes, family meal deals, or specials for takeout orders, local users would need to contact the restaurant directly or check for any local advertisements or online presence they might have.
For local users in Raleigh, NC, considering China Queen Restaurant, the available reviews offer a mixed perspective. The positive review highlights a tasty and decently priced lunch special, as well as the convenience of a lunch buffet with quick service. This might be appealing to those looking for a quick and affordable midday meal. However, the negative review regarding the hot and sour soup raises concerns about the consistency or quality of certain dishes.
Potential customers might want to consider what type of dining experience they are looking for. If a quick and varied lunch is desired, the buffet could be a good option, especially within its operating hours. For those ordering from the regular menu, the positive feedback on the moo goo gai pan is encouraging, but the negative experience with the hot and sour soup suggests that the quality of individual dishes might vary. If hot and sour soup is a favorite, it might be wise to inquire about its preparation or read more recent reviews specifically mentioning this dish.
To make a more informed decision, local residents might find it helpful to look for additional reviews on other online platforms to see if a broader consensus exists regarding the overall food quality and service at China Queen Restaurant. Calling the restaurant directly to inquire about their menu, preparation methods, and any current promotions could also provide valuable information.
In conclusion, China Queen Restaurant in Raleigh, NC, offers a variety of Chinese dishes with dine-in, takeout, and a lunch buffet option. While one customer praised the tasty and affordable lunch special and the quick service, another reported a significant issue with the quality of their hot and sour soup. I ordered hot and sour soup, the first time I’ve been there. I’ve eaten this soup numerous times at other restaurants. But at this restaurant, the soup was extremely thick and looked like slime. And it had a weird taste. Highly disappointed.
Stopped by for a dine in lunch. Ordered the moo goo gai pan (chicken with mushroom) lunch special, which comes with veggie fried rice. The food was tasty, and the price was decent. They do have lunch buffet (as of Oct 2022, the price is $9.99 for adult buffet) but the buffet is only open 11-2:30 p.m. Quick service and overall a decent experience.
The quantity is fantastic, they do not skimp out on anything, I do wish the chicken was a bit higher quality but you're not going here to eat 10/10 food, this is exactly what I expected and I will definitely be eating here again
Lunch buffet tastes pretty average, which in all honesty is what you expect. The variety though is pretty limited, so that is where it's a bit of a letdown. Overall not great not terrible, if you're really hungry go for it.
One of the better american Chinese food places around, good value and great taste. Allot of other places in the area but the consistency of this place is pretty good. Parking isn't that bad and there is tons of space and lots of other venues. Waiting for your order might be a bit uncomfortable in this time with the lack of seating. Over all a great place to get a quick lunch special
