About China Point
Welcome to China Point, a Chinese restaurant situated at 9028 Archibald Ave in Rancho Cucamonga, California. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, China Point aims to offer local diners a variety of Chinese cuisine. However, recent customer feedback presents a somewhat mixed picture, with notable discrepancies in opinions regarding food quality and the overall dining experience. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on the available reviews to help local users make informed decisions.
Regarding the environment of China Point, one recent review paints a concerning picture, describing the restaurant as "extremely dated with ripped and torn booths." This suggests that the physical condition of the dining area may be a point of concern for some patrons, potentially impacting the overall comfort and ambiance. Furthermore, the reviewer also noted that "the restrooms are filthy," which is a significant issue related to hygiene and the overall dining experience. While another reviewer mentioned that "the atmosphere was great," this seems to be a contrasting opinion, and the specific aspects contributing to this positive perception are not detailed. It is important for potential customers to be aware of the reported issues with the restaurant's upkeep.
In terms of service, the feedback appears to be more consistently positive. One reviewer who was dissatisfied with their meal still acknowledged that "they were very friendly." This suggests that the staff at China Point are making an effort to provide a welcoming and courteous service experience. The friendliness of the staff can be a significant positive aspect, potentially mitigating some of the negative impressions related to other areas of the restaurant. The contrast between the negative comments about the environment and the positive remarks about the service is a key aspect of the overall customer experience at China Point.
The food quality at China Point seems to be the most contentious aspect based on the recent reviews. One highly critical reviewer stated unequivocally, "China Point is awful. I mean, just awful!!!!!!!!!!!" They also reminisced about a more positive experience in the 1990s, indicating a potential decline in quality over time. This strongly negative opinion suggests that some customers have had very unsatisfactory culinary experiences at this establishment. In contrast, another reviewer who personally disliked their specific order of "Jjamppong" mentioned that "other people around me ordered the lunch menu and they all seemed satisfied and enjoyed it." This suggests a potential inconsistency in the quality of different dishes or perhaps a difference in expectations based on the type of cuisine ordered. The reviewer who disliked the Jjamppong also noted that they believed "the food will suit Chinese people," implying a certain level of authenticity or perhaps a flavor profile that caters more specifically to that demographic. This observation could be valuable for potential customers with similar preferences.
The mixed feedback on food quality makes it difficult to draw a definitive conclusion. While some customers have had very negative experiences, others have found satisfaction, particularly with the lunch menu. The comment about the Jjamppong not being the expected "spicy and refreshing style" highlights the importance of individual preferences and the potential for dishes to vary from traditional expectations. The fact that the reviewer intends to try other dishes later and update their feedback indicates a degree of open-mindedness and a possibility that other menu items might be more appealing.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided customer reviews. Therefore, local users interested in dining at China Point would need to inquire directly with the restaurant about any ongoing specials, lunch deals (which seemed to be well-received by some), or other promotions. Contacting them via phone at (909) 466-8766 or +1 909-466-8766 would be the best way to obtain this information.
In conclusion, China Point in Rancho Cucamonga presents a complex picture based on recent customer reviews. While the service is noted as friendly and the atmosphere was considered "great" by one reviewer, significant concerns have been raised about the dated and poorly maintained environment, including ripped booths and unclean restrooms. The food quality also appears to be inconsistent, with one customer expressing extreme dissatisfaction, while another found the lunch menu to be satisfactory, although a specific dish did not meet their expectations. Potential local users should weigh these contrasting opinions and consider their own priorities regarding ambiance, cleanliness, service, and food preferences. Given the strong negative feedback on the restaurant's condition, it may be prudent to manage expectations or perhaps inquire about recent improvements before visiting. For those interested in trying the food, the lunch menu seems to have garnered some positive feedback, and the reviewer's comment about the food potentially suiting Chinese people might be relevant for certain diners.

How does this place have so many positive reviews and stars?!!!!! China Point is awful. I mean, just awful!!!!!!!!!!! This place used to be good in the 90s. I thought I would take a trip down memory lane. Never again. Do not waste your money or time! Plus, the restaurant is extremely dated with ripped and torn booths!!!! Also, the restrooms are filthy!
I went there with high expectations because of the good reviews and ratings. Unfortunately, the food I ordered was not that great. I couldn't finish it. Still, they were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. I will try other dishes later. I personally don't recommend the Jjamppong. It wasn't the spicy and refreshing style I was looking for. I will order it again later and update. Other people around me ordered the lunch menu and they all seemed satisfied and enjoyed it. I think the food will suit Chinese people.
I would not have given them a three-star rating if it were not the double deep fried brown noodle which deserves some credit. The sweet and sour pork and egg-plant dishes were a disaster—they were nothing but “a thick layer” of bread crumbs fried in high temperature. Look at the photos and you will know what I meant. We had to get through a thick layer of crumb, spitted it before getting to the tiny portion of meat in the sweet & sour pork. Refer to the photo. Worst sweet and sour pork and egg plant I ever had in a restaurant! I don’t know what type or style of cooking it was! The way they prepared the dishes were definitely not Chinese food! I don’t even know how they have gotten several hundreds of high reviews!
We decided on the Shrimp with Hot Garlic Sauce, Chicken Chow Mein, and Kung Pao Chicken. Our entrees came with a delicious soup and a flavorful egg roll, adding to the overall dining experience. The food was well-prepared, flavorful, and served in generous portions. The prices were fair, making it a great value for the quality of food and service provided. The staff was attentive and friendly, further enhancing our dining experience. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual meal with family or friends. Overall, our visit to this Chinese restaurant was a delightful experience, and we will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious Chinese cuisine in the area. I look forward to my next visit to savor more of their tasty dishes. Thank you to the restaurant staff for a wonderful dining experience!
