About China Palace Restaurant

China Palace Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at 2932 N Main St, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, USA. As a local Chinese eatery, it aims to provide a variety of Chinese dishes to the Walnut Creek community. They can be contacted at (925) 935-3233 or their mobile number +1 925-935-3233.

Based on the limited recent customer feedback available, there appear to be contrasting experiences at China Palace Restaurant. One customer expressed significant dissatisfaction following a takeout order. This reviewer stated that they had been regular customers for takeout in the past but would not be returning due to a negative experience with their beef with ginger dish. They described the dish as being predominantly ginger with a minimal amount of beef, leading to disappointment. Furthermore, this customer recounted a subsequent negative interaction during a second attempt to dine at the restaurant. They alleged that staff members spoke in their own language, unaware that the reviewer understood them, seemingly discussing the previous negative review. Following this, the reviewer's husband was reportedly confronted by a staff member during payment who mentioned their dislike of the ginger beef. The reviewer interpreted these interactions as the restaurant focusing on the negative feedback in an uncomfortable way rather than using it for improvement. This customer concluded by stating their intention not to return and their lack of recommendation for the restaurant.

Conversely, another customer shared a positive experience, specifically mentioning several dishes they enjoyed. These included the wonton soup for two, the house version of Hong Kong crispy noodles, BBQ pork fried rice, and sesame chicken. This reviewer noted that the food was "very good." They even provided a detail about the Hong Kong crispy noodles, mentioning that they were indeed crispy upon serving, with an accompanying picture taken after the noodles were tossed with the sauce and beginning to soften. This positive feedback suggests that some of the dishes offered at China Palace Restaurant are well-received by certain customers.

Considering these two recent reviews, it is evident that customer experiences at China Palace Restaurant can vary. While one customer reported significant issues with a specific dish and felt the restaurant handled criticism poorly, another customer found several dishes to be very good. The stark contrast in these experiences makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment based solely on this limited information.

For local users in Walnut Creek considering China Palace Restaurant, it's important to acknowledge the differing opinions. The positive review highlights the quality of dishes like the wonton soup, Hong Kong crispy noodles, BBQ pork fried rice, and sesame chicken. These might be dishes worth considering if you decide to try this establishment. On the other hand, the negative review raises concerns about the preparation of certain dishes, specifically the beef with ginger, and also about the restaurant's approach to customer feedback.

Without further information regarding the environment, services beyond order taking and payment, features, or any promotional information, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive introduction. The available reviews primarily focus on the food quality of specific dishes and, in one case, the handling of customer feedback. Potential customers might want to weigh the positive mentions of certain dishes against the negative experience reported by another reviewer.

It is worth noting that individual preferences for Chinese cuisine can vary significantly. What one person finds to be "very good," another might find lacking. The preparation of dishes can also differ, and consistency is a key factor in customer satisfaction. The issue raised about the beef with ginger having very little beef and mostly ginger is a specific concern about the balance of ingredients in that particular dish.

The mention of the restaurant primarily being a takeout destination for the dissatisfied customer prior to their negative experience suggests that China Palace Restaurant likely caters to both dine-in and takeout orders. The positive reviewer did not specify whether their meal was dine-in or takeout. The fact that the negative experience led to a strong vow never to return indicates the severity of their dissatisfaction.

In the absence of information about the restaurant's ambiance, decor, service style (beyond the interaction during the second visit of the dissatisfied customer), or any unique features, local users will need to base their decision primarily on the available food reviews. The positive review offers specific dish recommendations, while the negative review serves as a cautionary tale regarding at least one dish and the handling of criticism.

Given the limited and conflicting information, local users might consider trying some of the positively reviewed dishes to form their own opinion. It would also be prudent to be mindful of the reported issue with the beef with ginger if that is a dish of interest. Without any information on current promotions, it is recommended to inquire directly with the restaurant about any specials or offers.

In conclusion, China Palace Restaurant in Walnut Creek presents a mixed picture based on the two recent customer reviews. While some dishes like the wonton soup, Hong Kong crispy noodles, BBQ pork fried rice, and sesame chicken were well-received by one customer, another experienced significant disappointment with the beef with ginger and was highly critical of the restaurant's handling of their feedback. Local users may want to consider these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to patronize China Palace Restaurant.

Usually, we went to this place only and take order to go. After today’s order we will never c come back. They dish beef with ginger is more like ginger with a little bit beef. We are very disappointed. P.S. The place is worse than I expected. Today Friday, March 28th we tried to give them one more chance. However, they firstly used their language without knowing that I understood what they said about our review. After that when my husband went to pay for this, the guy said: “I remember you, you do not like ginger beef.” Instead of improvements, you tried to put us to spot, and make us feel uncomfortable. We actually love real GINGER BEEF. Not your version if this, with a few pieces of beef. For now we are done, your place will never improve. You guys are cheap and have zero understanding how to use criticism for improvements. We will never come here again. I would not recommend this place for my friends and family.

Food was very good, specifically we had the wonton soup for 2, the house version of Hong Kong crispy noodles, bbq pork fried rice and sesame chicken. (The crispy noodle pic is after I tossed them to start softening the noodle with the sauce, they were truly crispy upon serving)

The two of us arrived Friday at 6pm. The employee directed us to a table. I asked to be seated at another table as I preferred not sitting right next to where other people were entering to pick up to go orders and since the restaurant was mostly empty, assumed they would honor my request. After asking a second time, the server seemed to get angry so another employee seated us. As you can see in the photo, seating request should not have been an issue. Once our food arrived, we asked the server for hot sauce and the server responded “anything else?” They did seem to have a good rapport with what appeared to be regular customers. Our food was fine, but not enjoyable due to service.

Came on a short whim in the area, the pictures looked amazing. The restaurant was cute as hell. I forgot to take pics of my food, but the soup portions were generous. FYI small soup can be shared between two people! I wish lunch portions were available on the weekends, they looked good in the photos. Cute place for a peaceful date night 😇

Wow! This restaurant was a really nice surprise. We were visiting in town and found this spot nearby. Wasn't expecting much but we were completely amazed by the quality and flavors of their dishes. The hot and sour soup was one of the best I've ever had. I ordered the Mongolian Beef which was so good! My wife ordered sesame chicken and it was outstanding! Portion sizes were huge and the service was top notch. I'd love to go again and try some more dishes from their extensive and delicious menu.
