About China Pagoda
Located in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, China Pagoda serves as a local option for those seeking Chinese cuisine. Situated at 6918 5th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11209, USA, this "Chinese Restaurant" offers its services to the surrounding community. Based on the limited customer feedback available, experiences at China Pagoda appear to be somewhat varied, with some patrons highlighting positive aspects while others point out areas for potential improvement.
China Pagoda can be contacted by phone at (718) 238-6184 or via their mobile number, +1 718-238-6184. These contact details are essential for placing orders, making inquiries about the menu, or confirming operating hours. As is common with many local eateries, China Pagoda likely offers takeout and potentially delivery services to cater to the convenience of its customers in Brooklyn.
One customer review offers a decidedly positive perspective on their experience at China Pagoda. They described the food as "amazing" and specifically commended the lady who took their order, noting her initial demeanor might seem "a little stern" but that she is "actually very chill and friendly" once a conversation begins. This suggests that the service at China Pagoda can be quite pleasant and that building rapport with the staff might enhance the overall dining experience. The reviewer concluded with a "Great experience overall," indicating satisfaction with their visit.
In contrast, another review presents a more mixed assessment. This customer found the food to be "ok," offering a neutral evaluation rather than strong praise. They specifically commented on the sesame chicken, describing it as "soft," which could be interpreted as lacking the desired crispiness. Additionally, they described the rice as "yellow with some peas and carrots and onions," which might suggest a standard or perhaps less elaborate preparation than expected. This reviewer also mentioned a desire for a drink, implying that beverages might not have been readily offered or easily accessible during their takeout order.
A significant concern raised in the second review pertains to a discrepancy in pricing. The customer stated, "They need to change the prices on the wall. They charge more than advertise. It said $5.50 but it was charged $7.90." This issue of price inconsistency between advertised prices and the actual charges is a serious point of contention and could negatively impact customer trust and satisfaction. It is crucial for China Pagoda to address this discrepancy to ensure transparency and maintain fair business practices.
Despite the pricing issue, the second reviewer did note a positive aspect of their experience: "Well it was a nice day and I ate at the park." This suggests that China Pagoda effectively provides food suitable for takeout, allowing customers to enjoy their meals in alternative settings. However, this positive note does not negate the concern regarding the inaccurate pricing.
Based on these limited reviews, it is challenging to definitively characterize the environment of China Pagoda. The positive service interaction described in the first review suggests a potentially welcoming atmosphere, at least when engaging with the staff. However, the lack of any description of the physical space leaves this aspect largely unknown. Local users might need to visit the restaurant to form their own impression of the ambiance and cleanliness.
The services offered by China Pagoda likely include both takeout and potentially dine-in, although the second reviewer's experience of eating at the park suggests a focus on takeout. The mention of placing an order with the "lady" implies a counter service model, common in many neighborhood Chinese restaurants. The availability of a phone number also supports the likelihood of phone orders for pickup or delivery. However, without more information, the full range of services provided remains unclear.
In terms of features, the "amazing" food mentioned by one reviewer could be considered a key feature, suggesting that some dishes are particularly well-prepared and flavorful. However, the contrasting experience with the sesame chicken in the other review indicates that the quality might be inconsistent across the menu or subject to individual preferences. The friendly demeanor of the staff member, once engaged in conversation, could also be considered a positive feature of the customer interaction.
The significant negative feature identified is the discrepancy in pricing, which needs to be addressed by the restaurant to ensure customer satisfaction and legal compliance. Accurate and transparent pricing is essential for building trust with the local community.
Regarding promotional information, neither of the provided reviews mentions any specific promotions or special offers at China Pagoda. Local users interested in potential deals or discounts would need to inquire directly with the restaurant. It is possible that China Pagoda relies on word-of-mouth and its local presence rather than active promotions.
In conclusion, China Pagoda in Brooklyn, NY, presents a mixed picture based on the limited available reviews. While one customer praised the amazing food and friendly service, another reported issues with the quality of a specific dish and, more concerningly, a discrepancy between advertised and charged prices. Potential customers might find some dishes to be highly enjoyable and the staff to be friendly once engaged, but they should also be aware of the reported pricing inconsistencies. It would be beneficial for China Pagoda to ensure price accuracy and maintain consistent food quality across its menu to provide a more uniformly positive experience for its local users in Brooklyn.

The food was amazing and the lady who took me and my friends order was super nice! She might seem a little stern at first, but once you start talking to her, she’s actually very chill and friendly. Great experience overall
The food was ok. The sesame chicken was soft, and the rice was yellow with some peas and carrots and onions. Just would like a drink. They need to change the prices on the wall. They charge more than advertise. It said $5.50 but it was charged $7.90. Well it was a nice day and I ate at the park.
This restaurant claim they charge tax on stuff but don't don't give receipt. Seem a little sketchy. The food is actually good still.
I ordered beef with broccoli. Even though I said a little spicy , It was absolutely tastless and instead of spices it tasted like it was drenched in oil. The workers were also couching in the back and not even covering their mouth. Never again!
Halal Chinese menu is a ++ Appropriate food portion. No seating availability. Only for take out. Friendly staff.
