About China One

China One is a Chinese restaurant located at 638 W Pike St, Clarksburg, WV 26301, USA. They can be contacted at (304) 326-0220 or via their mobile number, +1 304-326-0220. Based on recent customer reviews, China One presents a somewhat mixed picture, with some patrons reporting highly positive experiences while others have encountered significant issues, particularly regarding order accuracy and customer service when problems occur.

One first-time customer described their experience as "Top Tier chinese!" and raved about the taste and quality of several dishes they ordered, including cream cheese wontons, vegetables with rice, Szechuan chicken with vegetables, General Tso chicken with ham fried rice, and hot n sour soup. They specifically highlighted that the food did not upset their stomach, a common issue for them when eating Chinese cuisine, and they felt great after the meal. The flavors were described as "true to recipe," and the reviewer stated they "wouldn’t have changed a thing." They were particularly impressed with the vegetable dishes, noting the use of ten different vegetables and expressing their obsession with this aspect of the meal. Despite the restaurant being located in an "old Wendy’s building" with an unassuming exterior, this reviewer strongly recommended trying the food and indicated their intention to become a regular, also noting the affordable prices and "good" service that met their expectations.

In contrast, a long-term regular customer, who has been a loyal delivery/takeout patron with their family since 2016 (eight years at the time of the review), shared a more concerning experience. While acknowledging that their overall experience has been positive over the years, with "always fresh and delicious" food and occasional extra portions ("hooked up" as regulars), they recounted a recurring issue with the handling of complaints. According to this reviewer, on the "handful of times" when they have had issues with their orders (such as overcooked food or items not made as ordered) and contacted the restaurant, they were met with "so much hostility and rudeness." They felt they were treated as if the mistake was their fault, and they reported a consistent refusal from the restaurant to pick up incorrect orders and provide refunds.

The specific incident that prompted this review involved a first-time order of Mongolian Beef for $12.99. The reviewer included a picture (not available to this AI) and expressed their disinclination to call the restaurant due to the expectation of an angry and defiant response, as well as the anticipated refusal for a refund or order pickup. Despite this significant issue with customer service when problems arise, this long-term regular still recommended China One to those who enjoy "the more regular Chinese/American cuisine" when things go correctly.

The stark contrast between these two reviews highlights a potential inconsistency in the customer experience at China One. While the food itself can be highly praised for its taste, freshness, and variety (especially the vegetable dishes), there appear to be significant concerns regarding order accuracy and the way the restaurant handles complaints or errors. The negative experience of a long-term regular suggests that even loyal customers can face hostile and unhelpful responses when issues occur, which is a serious drawback.

The first reviewer mentioned the affordable prices and good service during their visit, indicating that positive experiences are definitely possible. However, the second review paints a picture where the service can be far from satisfactory when problems arise, potentially damaging long-term customer relationships.

Information about the restaurant's environment for dine-in customers is limited to the mention of being in an "old Wendy’s building," suggesting a possibly basic or unassuming interior. No other details regarding the ambiance, decor, or seating arrangements are provided. Similarly, specific services beyond takeout and delivery (mentioned by the regular customer) are not detailed. There is no promotional information available in these reviews.

For local users in Clarksburg, WV, considering China One, it is important to weigh these contrasting experiences. If order accuracy is a top priority and you anticipate needing responsive customer service in case of issues, the negative review raises a red flag. However, if you are primarily focused on the taste and quality of the food at an affordable price, and perhaps plan to order simpler, well-established dishes, the positive review might be more encouraging. The strong recommendation for the vegetable dishes is also noteworthy for vegetarian or health-conscious diners.

In conclusion, China One in Clarksburg, WV, is a Chinese restaurant that offers tasty and affordable Chinese-American cuisine, with particular praise for its vegetable dishes. The service can be good, and prices are reasonable. However, there are significant concerns regarding order accuracy and the potentially hostile and unhelpful customer service encountered when issues arise, even for long-term regular customers. The restaurant's location in a former Wendy's building suggests a basic environment. Potential customers should be aware of these mixed experiences when deciding whether to dine at or order from China One.

Top Tier chinese! Ordered cream cheese wontons, vegetables with rice, Schezhan chicken with vegetables, general tso chicken with ham fried rice, and hot n sour soup. Everything tasted amazing and didn’t upset my stomach at all which is common for me when I eat chinese. I felt great after eating it. Flavors were true to recipe. Wouldn’t have changed a thing. The veggie dishes are amazing. They use 10 different veggies in it and i’m obsessed. First time trying it and will be back. It’s in an old Wendy’s building and doesn’t look like much but the food is a must try if you are in the area. Prices are also affordable. Service is good. Exactly as expected. Might become a regular!

We are regulars, my family and I, have been loyal delivery/take out customers since 2016. 8 years. With only a handful of minor issues. The food is always fresh and delicious, and normally we get hooked up, because we are regulars. However, tonight included, the handful of times where we have had issues, and complained, we are meet with so much hostility, and rudeness. We are treated like it's our faults or food is over cooked, or not made the way we ordered. Tonight, I ordered, for the first time from this establishment, the Mongolian Beef for 12.99. This is what I got (refer to picture) and I'm disinclined to call them back because I know I will be greeted with anger, and defiance, and at the end of it all, will be denied them picking the order back up and refunding it. They refuse, everytime. Other than that, I do recommend if you're a fan of the more regular Chinese/American cuisine.

It wasn't to bad i had it delivered and payed with my card over the phone. When the delivery man brought it I gave him a tip on my receipt later that night the manager I'm going to assume asked me if I wrote a tip on it just to confirm it was me and no shenanigans happened so I thought that was good service.

I am surprised by the number of 5 star reviews and also that we did not end up with food poisoning. The food is hott so that is a contributing factor. The food is OK, not amazing. The egg rolls had an off flavor, almost like radish or something was just not right and unlike any eggroll I have ever had before. The general's chicken was delicious with lots of flavor and was the highlight of our order. The restaurant is disgustingly dirty. The entire place needs a scrub from top to bottom, and from what i see in the reviews, most people either get delivery or use the drive thru. I doubt I will go there again as I almost just walked out when I got there to place my order. The staff was friendly and fast.
