About China One

Located at 921 S Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89145, USA, China One presents itself as a Chinese Restaurant where the focus is undeniably on the quality of the food. Customers have described the experience as stumbling upon a hidden gem, where the food can be surprisingly memorable.

The cashew chicken is highlighted as a standout dish, featuring juicy slices of flavorful white meat accompanied by crunchy celery and carrots. The chow mein is praised for its tasty and slurp-worthy noodles, while the fried rice is noted for its unique combination of crispy and smushy textures. Some reviewers have even enjoyed watching the chef skillfully prepare meals over a flaming wok.

In terms of ambiance, China One is described as having no real atmosphere or decoration, with one reviewer noting that it resembles eateries found in China. This lack of focus on decor contributes to the restaurant's affordability, with prices considered reasonable and lunch specials being particularly budget-friendly, often offering a full meal for $10 or less.

However, a significant point of concern raised in multiple reviews is the staff, who are often described as cold and bordering on rude. One reviewer suggested this might be a cultural aspect, but it is consistently mentioned as a negative aspect of the dining experience. Additionally, one recent review reported a poor experience with the pepper steak, citing an unpleasant wet, soggy, and slimy texture of the beef.

For local users in Las Vegas prioritizing exceptional food quality and affordable prices over ambiance and potentially facing less-than-welcoming service, China One might be worth considering. The tastiness of dishes like the cashew chicken, chow mein, and fried rice has been lauded, but it's important to be aware of the reported issues with staff and potential inconsistencies in food quality.

One of the joys of dining is just stopping at an unknown, out-of-the-way Chinese restaurant and suddenly having a memorable meal. This is certainly true of China One. The food is spectacular. Take the cashew chicken. The dish was studded with juicy slices of white meat, flavorful and pearly. The celery and carrots were crunchy. The chow mein featured tasty noodles I couldn't stop slurping. And the fried rice was crispy and smushy all at once. I watched the chef prepare the food. Flames flared over the wok as he deftly kept everything under control. Of course there is no atmosphere and little to know decoration. It actually looks like eateries IN China. The real negative is the staff. Maybe it's cultural, but they were cold to the point of rude. Prices are affordable. Lunch specials are a steal. You can have a full meal for $10 or less. If you can stomach the difficulty of getting by the staff, this is a terrific place to eat. The tastiness of the food is worth it!

Like all other reviews cashier girl is rude and unwelcoming. Got the pepper steak, the beef texture was not correct at all. Seems like the beef was wet, soggy and slimy not steak texture. Couldn’t even get through eating a few bites. Offered it to my partner he also stated he’s never had experienced that texture before.
