About China One

China One is a Chinese restaurant located at 2181 Old Mountain Rd Suite B in Statesville, North Carolina. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, it currently focuses exclusively on providing takeout services to the local community. For those wishing to place an order, China One can be contacted at (704) 871-8788 or via mobile phone at +1 704-871-8788.

Based on the available customer reviews, China One presents a somewhat polarized experience. On the one hand, there are positive comments regarding the service and the restaurant's ability to cater to families with picky eaters. On the other hand, a significant negative review raises serious concerns about the quality and taste of several key menu items.

In terms of services, it is explicitly stated that China One offers takeout only, as there is "no dine-in seating." However, there are "some seats while you wait" for your order to be prepared. This indicates that while customers cannot eat at the premises, they can comfortably wait for their takeout orders. The focus on takeout suggests that China One prioritizes efficiency and convenience for customers who prefer to enjoy their Chinese food at home.

One positive aspect highlighted in the reviews is the service, particularly the young person working at the window. This individual is described as "nice" and "attentive to detail," with the impressive ability to accurately take large orders by ear. This suggests that China One employs staff who are capable and friendly, contributing to a smooth and accurate order process, which is crucial for a takeout-focused establishment.

Another positive point mentioned is that the food is generally considered "good" by some customers. One reviewer noted that their "pretty big family of picky eaters" never complains when they get Chinese food from China One, implying a level of broad appeal and satisfaction among a diverse group with varying taste preferences. This suggests that China One may offer a range of dishes that are palatable to a wide audience.

However, a starkly contrasting review presents a very negative experience. This customer expresses strong dissatisfaction, stating they "will forever question why people eat here." They claim that "every single time" they have tried to give China One a chance, the rice tastes like "dirty dishwater," and the sesame chicken does not taste like sesame chicken. This reviewer's overall assessment is that "everything is always terrible," indicating a fundamental issue with the quality and taste of the food in their experience.

The negative review further elaborates on the "disgusting taste" of the crab rangoons, which, in their opinion, is particularly disappointing given the expectation that a crab rangoon should be "so delicious that as you bite into it it takes you to heaven." According to this reviewer, the crab rangoons at China One fail to meet this expectation. This strong negative feedback on multiple dishes—rice, sesame chicken, and crab rangoons—raises significant concerns about the consistency and quality of the food at China One.

The fact that one customer considers China One their "first pick for take-out Chinese for sure" stands in direct opposition to the other reviewer's extremely negative experiences. This discrepancy suggests a potential inconsistency in food quality or a significant difference in individual taste preferences and expectations. It is also possible that the positive experiences reflect satisfactory outcomes with certain dishes not mentioned in the negative review.

Given the limited information about the environment beyond it being a takeout-only establishment with some waiting seats, it is difficult to provide a detailed description. The focus seems to be primarily on the efficiency of the takeout service and the quality of the food, which, as the reviews indicate, can be inconsistent.

In conclusion, China One in Statesville, NC, is a Chinese restaurant that operates solely on a takeout basis. It appears to have friendly and efficient service, with at least one staff member being particularly adept at handling orders. Some customers find the food to be good and suitable for even picky eaters, making it their preferred choice for takeout Chinese. However, there are also serious concerns raised by another reviewer regarding the poor taste and quality of several dishes, including the rice, sesame chicken, and crab rangoons. This inconsistency in feedback suggests that potential customers may have varied experiences with the food at China One. Local users considering China One for takeout might want to weigh these contrasting opinions and perhaps try a small order initially to assess the quality based on their own preferences.

The kid at the window is nice. A little monotone, but he can take a large order by ear and is attentive to detail. The food is good. We have a pretty big family of picky eaters, but they never complain about Chinese when we get it from here. There is no dine-in seating; this restaurant is currently take-out only. Some seats while you wait, but otherwise bring it home. Overall, our first pick for take-out Chinese for sure.

I will forever question why people eat here. Every single time I've tried to give them a chance, and I'm not exaggerating here, the rice tastes like dirty dishwater and the sesame chicken does not taste like sesame chicken. Everything is always terrible. The disgusting taste from the crab Rangoons is disrespectful because a crab Rangoon is supposed to be so delicious that as you bite into it it takes you to heaven. It ain't. Not here.
