About China One

China One, located at 3000 Moncrief Rd #12, Jacksonville, FL 32209, USA, is a Chinese Restaurant serving the local community. Recent customer feedback presents a stark contrast in experiences, which potential local users should carefully consider when deciding whether to patronize this establishment. The reviews touch upon aspects such as food quality, portion sizes, pricing, and, concerningly, food safety.

One customer had an overwhelmingly positive experience at China One. They advised not to be misled by the "inside decor" or the "surrounding neighborhood," suggesting that the external appearance might not reflect the quality of the food. This reviewer proclaimed that the food was "100% on point" and that they had "never had a better Chinese lunch anywhere." They also praised the "decent price," the fact that the food was "HOTT," and the "insane" portion size, deeming it "so worth it" and "so fresh," ultimately describing their experience as "amazing." They specifically mentioned ordering the "L20" and highly recommended the place, stating it had become their "go to!!" This glowing review highlights the potential for a satisfying and value-for-money lunch experience at China One, with fresh, hot food and generous portions.

However, another customer reported a severely negative and alarming experience during their lunch break. They stated that they found "actual metal shavings" in their House Lo Mein. This reviewer described the unsettling experience of chewing on the piece of metal before spitting it out and expressed disgust, leading them to stop eating the rest of their meal. They voiced serious concerns about the potential harm such foreign objects could cause if ingested. This review raises significant food safety concerns and could be a major deterrent for potential customers. The presence of metal shavings in a food item is a serious issue that indicates a potential lapse in food preparation or handling processes.

The contrasting nature of these two recent reviews makes it difficult to form a definitive overall opinion of China One. One customer had an exceptional experience, while the other reported a potentially dangerous food safety issue. This discrepancy suggests a possible inconsistency in food quality control or preparation standards. Local users will need to weigh these drastically different experiences when considering this restaurant.

The first review provides some insight into the restaurant's offerings, mentioning "Chinese lunch" and a specific order "L20," implying the existence of lunch specials or a menu with coded items. The large portion size and reasonable price were also highlighted as positive features. The second review specifically mentions "House Lo Mein," indicating that this is one of the dishes offered. However, neither review provides comprehensive details about the full menu, other popular dishes, or any unique culinary features of China One.

Neither review offers any information about the restaurant's environment or ambiance for dine-in customers. The first reviewer mentioned the "inside decor" in a way that suggests it might not be the restaurant's strongest point, but they emphasized that the food quality outweighed any perceived shortcomings in the aesthetics. The second review does not comment on the environment at all. Similarly, there is no information provided about the services offered beyond food preparation for takeout or dine-in (if available), such as delivery options or catering. There is also no mention of any promotional offers or discounts that China One might be providing to local customers.

For local users in Jacksonville considering China One, it is crucial to acknowledge both the highly positive experience of one customer, who praised the food quality, price, and portion size, and the deeply concerning report of finding metal shavings in a dish by another. This significant food safety allegation should be taken very seriously. While the positive review might be enticing, the potential risk highlighted in the negative review could outweigh the positives for many potential customers. It would be prudent for local users to exercise caution and perhaps seek further information or clarification from the restaurant regarding their food safety practices before deciding to dine at or order from China One. Contacting the restaurant directly at (904) 355-3777 or their mobile number +1 904-355-3777 might provide an opportunity to inquire about their food preparation and safety protocols.

In conclusion, China One in Jacksonville presents a complex picture based on the limited recent customer feedback. While one customer raved about their lunch experience, including the food quality, price, and portion size, another reported a serious food safety issue involving metal shavings in their House Lo Mein. This stark contrast necessitates careful consideration by local users. The potential for a great meal might be overshadowed by the significant food safety concern raised in one of the reviews. Further investigation or direct communication with the restaurant might be advisable before making a decision.

Don't let the inside decor fool you or the surrounding neighborhood. This place is 100% on point!! I've never had a better Chinese lunch anywhere. Decent price and the food was HOTT and the portion was insane. So worth it, so fresh, just amazing. Had the L20. Highly recommend this place. This is now my go too!!

AWESOME PLACE, Terrific Teriyaki Chicken, and amazing Chicken fried rice, love the option for the Gravy on the rice, absolutely amazing food, 10/10 I do recommend highly, they care about what they serve here, and you can taste it, if you haven't put gravy on your fried rice, it's worth it, try it, and then soy sauce it if you want, either way is like its own dish. Thank y'all for the wonderful dinner. 🥹

Awesome Lo Mein! Good size portions at an even better price! I will be back to try more. Easy in, easy out, right off an interstate exit.

Their worth a try. Food is cheap and really good. They do not deliver cause it's a bad neighborhood, but you can still order via Doordash and have it delivered. Though it's more worth the visit!!! I promise you won't regret it.
