About China One
China One is a Chinese restaurant located at 2012 Dorsett Rd in Maryland Heights, Missouri. As a member of the Chinese restaurant category, China One serves the local community with a variety of Chinese cuisine options. Situated at 2012 Dorsett Rd, Maryland Heights, MO 63043, they can be contacted at (314) 907-1166 or +1 314-907-1166 for inquiries about their menu or to place orders for takeout or delivery, if available.
Information regarding the specific ambiance and environment of China One is not detailed in the provided customer reviews. However, as a typical Chinese restaurant, it likely offers a casual dining area for those who wish to eat on-site, in addition to facilitating takeout orders. The focus is generally on providing efficient service and a variety of Chinese dishes to cater to different tastes.
In terms of services, China One offers both dine-in and takeout options. The mention of a lunch special in one of the reviews suggests that they may have specific deals or menu items available during certain hours. While delivery service is not explicitly mentioned, it is a common offering for many Chinese restaurants, so local users may want to inquire about this when contacting them. The availability of phone numbers indicates that placing orders and making inquiries over the phone is a standard service.
One of the notable features of China One, based on customer feedback, is the apparent quality of certain dishes. The Sa Cha chicken is particularly praised, with one reviewer stating their love for it. This suggests that the Sa Cha chicken is a popular and well-regarded item on their menu. Interestingly, this reviewer also mentioned a customization option, where they sometimes request the sauce to be replaced with curry sauce, and they noted this combination as "YUM!" This indicates a willingness on the part of the restaurant to accommodate some special requests and highlights the potential for a flavorful curry sauce option.
Another dish that receives positive mention is the hot and sour soup, with one customer simply stating their love for it. Hot and sour soup is a staple of Chinese cuisine, and positive feedback suggests that China One's version is well-executed and enjoyable. This could be a recommended starter for those dining at or ordering from this establishment.
On the service front, one reviewer specifically noted that the "lady up front is always nice." This positive comment indicates that at least one staff member is consistently providing good customer service, contributing to a pleasant experience for those interacting with her, whether for ordering, pickup, or payment.
However, not all feedback is entirely positive. One customer shared a negative experience with their Hunan Shrimp Lunch special. They reported ordering extra meat for an additional $2 but were disappointed to receive only four shrimp in their platter. This customer expressed their disbelief and upset, especially considering that China One was previously one of their favorite Chinese places. This feedback raises concerns about the portion sizes, especially when paying extra for additional ingredients, and suggests potential inconsistencies in order fulfillment.
The contrasting reviews provide a balanced, albeit limited, view of China One. On one hand, the Sa Cha chicken (possibly with curry sauce) and the hot and sour soup are highlighted as enjoyable dishes, and the front-of-house service is noted as friendly. On the other hand, there is a report of a significant issue with the quantity of shrimp in a lunch special, even after paying extra for more. This suggests that while some aspects of China One are commendable, there might be inconsistencies in food preparation or portion control that potential customers should be aware of.
For local users in Maryland Heights looking for a Chinese restaurant, China One at 2012 Dorsett Rd offers a menu that includes popular items like Sa Cha chicken and hot and sour soup. The option to customize dishes, such as substituting curry sauce for the Sa Cha chicken, could be appealing to some. However, the reported issue with the Hunan Shrimp lunch special serves as a reminder to be mindful of order details and potentially confirm expectations when placing an order, especially when requesting extras or dealing with lunch specials.
In conclusion, China One in Maryland Heights has received positive feedback for its Sa Cha chicken, hot and sour soup, and friendly front-of-house service. However, a concerning report regarding the portion size of a Hunan Shrimp lunch special, particularly after paying extra for additional meat, indicates potential inconsistencies in order fulfillment. Local users may find some of their dishes to be enjoyable, but it might be prudent to be specific when ordering and perhaps inquire about portion sizes, especially for specials or when adding extra ingredients. Overall, China One presents itself as a local Chinese restaurant with some well-liked menu items and friendly staff, but with a need for potential improvement in order accuracy and value perception in certain cases.

Customer Reviews
I just ordered Hunan Shrimp Lunch special and ask to add extra meat for $2 and my platter only had 4 shrimp. Unbelievable. And this was my favorite Chinese places. Very upsetting.
Love their Sa Cha chicken. Sometimes I ask to replace sauce with the curry sauce - YUM! Love the hot and sour soup. Lady up front is always nice.
I've been going to China One since it opened. Somewhere along the line the food is not near as good. Maryland Heights needs a new Chinese restaraunt.
My first time here, I was served absolute trash. Had to throw away the food it was inedible. Seemed like lo mein were made hours ago and reheated in the wok. They had a "not fresh" taste, smell and texture. The wings tasted like the chicken was left unrefrigerated for a while, had a foul gamey stench. And the fried rice was heavily under salted.
Food is pretty good. Not consistently so unfortunately. Sizes questionable. Order large not sure that's what we get.
