About China New Wok
Welcome to China New Wok, a Chinese restaurant located at 512 E 180th St in the Bronx, New York. Specializing primarily in takeout service, China New Wok has garnered significant attention from local users, particularly for the exceptional quality of some of its signature dishes. You can place your order or inquire about their menu by calling them at (718) 295-3929 or their mobile number +1 718-295-3929.
Based on the available customer reviews, China New Wok presents a somewhat contrasting picture. One reviewer is overwhelmingly positive, describing it as "flat out one of the best places for chicken wings and pork fried rice." This enthusiastic endorsement highlights the exceptional quality of these specific menu items, suggesting they are prepared with a level of skill and flavor that stands out. The same reviewer also praises the "boneless spare ribs" as "ridiculous" and "very tasty," further emphasizing the deliciousness of their offerings. The terms "fast and delicious" underscore the efficiency of their service without compromising on taste.
This positive review goes on to label China New Wok a "hidden gem" and a "rare place," indicating that despite its perhaps unassuming exterior, the quality of the food is truly remarkable. The reviewer notes that "it won't look like a great place from the front... just a place to take out and go." This suggests that the focus of China New Wok is primarily on food preparation and takeout efficiency rather than an elaborate dine-in ambiance. The high volume of orders, indicated by the phrase "it's so busy," is presented as a reason for the consistently good food quality, implying that fresh ingredients and quick turnover contribute to the deliciousness.
The reviewer further emphasizes the value proposition, stating that it is "top-tier Chinese food for the price." This suggests that China New Wok offers a high level of quality that belies its pricing, making it an excellent option for those seeking delicious Chinese takeout without breaking the bank. The fact that this customer regularly orders between $50 and $70 worth of food twice a month speaks volumes about their satisfaction and the consistent quality they have experienced. They conclude by stating, "They never disappoint everything I eat from here is excellent. Their food is flat-out excellent. You won't be disappointed with this establishment." This strong and repeated praise underscores the positive experiences of at least one loyal customer.
A specific recommendation from this reviewer is to "tell them to cut the chicken wings" due to their large size compared to other Chinese restaurants. This is a helpful tip for potential customers who might prefer smaller, more manageable portions of wings.
However, it is crucial to consider the contrasting experience presented in another review. This customer expresses significant dissatisfaction, stating that the "Food was much to be desired" and that they would "Probably never coming back here and sticking to my usual spot further out." This starkly different opinion highlights the potential for inconsistency or varying expectations among customers. The reviewer also mentions receiving "Only 1 drink for 2 orders when other places give 2," indicating a potential issue with order accuracy or generosity regarding complimentary items.
Furthermore, this negative review points out a discrepancy with the menu, stating that the "food was suppose to come with egg roll on menu but they left it out." This suggests a possible lapse in attention to detail when fulfilling orders, which can lead to customer dissatisfaction. This missing item, coupled with the overall negative assessment of the food quality, paints a less favorable picture of China New Wok.
Regarding the environment and services, the first reviewer explicitly mentions that China New Wok looks like "just a place to take out and go," indicating that dine-in facilities might be limited or less emphasized. The focus appears to be on efficient takeout service. The positive reviewer also notes the speed of service ("very tasty fast and delicious").
A significant practical consideration highlighted in the overwhelmingly positive review is the challenging parking situation. The reviewer advises, "Worst part is parking and it's in front of a bus stop(please) don't double park there the bus will take a picture of your plates. Park on 3rd Ave around the corner and pick up your order." This is crucial information for customers planning to pick up their orders, as it provides a valuable tip on how to avoid parking violations and ensure a smooth pickup experience.
Given the conflicting reviews, it is difficult to ascertain a completely objective assessment of China New Wok. However, the strong praise for specific items like chicken wings, pork fried rice, and boneless spare ribs from a long-time, high-spending customer suggests that these dishes are indeed exceptional and worth trying. The negative review raises concerns about food quality consistency, order accuracy, and potentially less generous complimentary items compared to other establishments.
There is no information available in the provided reviews regarding any specific promotional offers or unique features beyond the highly praised food items. Local users might want to inquire directly with China New Wok about any current specials or menu highlights.
To summarize the key points about China New Wok based on the available information:

- Delicious Pork Fried Rice: Another standout dish receiving high praise.
- Tasty Boneless Spare Ribs: Described as "ridiculous" and very flavorful.
- Fast Service: Known for its quick and efficient takeout.

For local users in the Bronx looking for Chinese takeout, China New Wok presents a bit of a gamble. The overwhelmingly positive review for specific dishes like the chicken wings and ribs is compelling, suggesting that if these items are ordered, the experience could be excellent. However, the negative review serves as a cautionary note regarding potential inconsistencies in food quality and order accuracy. If you decide to try China New Wok, focusing on the highly recommended chicken wings, pork fried rice, or boneless spare ribs might be a good strategy. Be mindful of the parking situation and consider calling ahead to confirm your order details and any potential promotions.
To make an informed decision, local users might want to weigh the strong positive endorsements for particular dishes against the negative feedback regarding overall food quality and service inconsistencies. Contacting China New Wok directly at (718) 295-3929 or +1 718-295-3929 to inquire about their current menu and any specials might also be beneficial before placing an order.

This place is flat out one of the best places for chicken wings and pork fried rice, the boneless spare ribs are ridiculous, very tasty fast and delicious. It's a hidden gem. It's a rare place, and it won't look like a great place from the front.. just a place to take out and go.. but it's so busy that that's why the food is good. There is no other Chinese around or great food around.. this is top-tier Chinese food for the price.. I usually order around $50 to $70 dollars all the time so you can understand the quality of their food. 2 times a month I eat here. They never disappoint everything I eat from here is excellent. Also, tell them to cut the chicken wings they are very large compared to other Chinese restaurants. Their food is flat-out excellent. You won't be disappointed with this establishment. Worst part is parking and it's in front of a bus stop(please) don't double park there the bus will take a picture of your plates. Park on 3rd Ave around the corner and pick up your order.
