About China Mountain II

China Mountain II is a Chinese Restaurant located at 31616 Vine St, Willowick, OH 44095, USA, serving the local community with a focus on takeout services. They can be contacted at (440) 943-0055 or via their mobile number +1 440-943-0055. These contact details are essential for local users looking to place orders for pickup. As a Chinese restaurant in Willowick, China Mountain II aims to provide a convenient option for enjoying Chinese cuisine at home.

Based on recent online reviews, the experiences at China Mountain II appear to be quite contrasting, indicating potential inconsistencies in both food quality and the overall environment. One particularly concerning review details a disturbing incident where two customers found bugs or worms in two completely different meals they ordered. This led to immediate shock and denial, followed by a call to the restaurant. While the restaurant staff reportedly offered to remake the meals and subsequently provided a refund upon the return of the dishes, the presence of bugs in the food is a serious issue that raises significant food safety concerns for potential customers.

Further elaborating on their experience, the same reviewer noted that China Mountain II operates primarily as a "take-out only/cash only" establishment. Additionally, they described the interior of the restaurant as "very unkept and dirty with visible spiderwebs and dust." This description of the environment suggests a lack of attention to cleanliness and maintenance within the premises, which could be off-putting for customers who might occasionally enter to place or pick up orders. The cash-only policy is also an important piece of information for local users to be aware of when considering ordering from China Mountain II.

On a more positive note, another recent review recounts a significantly different experience. This customer, who had frequented China Mountain II in the past but had stopped going due to perceived inconsistencies in quality, decided to try it again. They expressed great satisfaction with their recent order, stating that the food was "so good" it prompted them to write a review. They found the woman who took their phone order to be "friendly" and also noted her pleasant demeanor when they picked up the food. The customer was pleased to find that the food quality was back to what they remembered from years ago. They specifically praised the freshness, the piping hot temperature of the food, the quality of the chicken (white inside, crispy and golden brown outside), and the delicious and hot rice. They also appreciated the flavor of the sauce, noting that it was "not too sweet." This positive feedback highlights the potential for China Mountain II to deliver satisfying and enjoyable meals.

The stark contrast between these two recent reviews suggests a degree of variability in the standards at China Mountain II. While one customer experienced a severe food safety issue and a dirty environment, another found the food to be excellent and the service friendly. This inconsistency makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of the restaurant based solely on these two accounts. Local users might need to weigh the potential for a positive culinary experience against the reported cleanliness issues and the serious incident involving contaminants in the food.

Given that China Mountain II is primarily a takeout restaurant, the interior environment might be less of a concern for those who do not plan to enter the premises. However, the reported lack of cleanliness could potentially extend to food preparation areas, raising further concerns about hygiene standards. The cash-only policy is a practical consideration for payment methods.

Without specific menu information in the provided reviews, it is difficult to detail the features of their cuisine. However, typical Chinese takeout restaurants offer a wide array of dishes, including various chicken, beef, pork, and seafood preparations, fried rice, noodle dishes, soups, and appetizers. The positive review mentioned the quality of their chicken and rice, suggesting that these might be reliable options. The negative review did not specify the dishes in which the contaminants were found, making it hard to pinpoint any particular areas of concern within their menu.

There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Local users interested in any special offers or discounts would need to contact the restaurant directly or check if they have any online presence where such information might be posted.

In conclusion, China Mountain II in Willowick, Ohio, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While one customer reported a severe issue with contaminants in their food and a dirty environment, another described a very positive experience with fresh, delicious food and friendly service. The restaurant operates primarily as a takeout and cash-only establishment. Local users considering ordering from China Mountain II should be aware of the significant food safety concerns raised in one review, while also noting the positive experience of another recent customer. The inconsistency in feedback suggests that individual experiences may vary. Potential customers might want to proceed with caution and consider these contrasting viewpoints when making their decision.

Very disappointed in having to write this review, but I want to bring awareness to others and hope an inspection will be done. We have been coming here for years. This was our go-to for Chinese take-out until a recent incident. Two completely different meals were ordered and we both found bugs/worms in our food within the first couple of bites. We were in shock and in denial. An immediate call was made to the restaurant to let them know and they kindly offered to make us a new meal, but we declined. They then offered to give us a refund. Both meals were returned and a refund was issued. When we brought back the dishes, a couple employees looked and confirmed they were indeed bugs and apologized. Overall, the restaurant is take-out only/cash only, and the interior is very unkept and dirty with visible spiderwebs and dust.

I got this last Thursday and had to write a review because it was so good, it popped into my mind again. I used to get this restaurant all the time years ago, but had stopped going. I remembered the quality being a little inconsistent. I had a random inkling to try it again and I’m so glad I did. The woman was friendly on the phone and nice when I went to pick up my food too. I am happy to say the food is exactly like I remembered it being. Everything was fresh, piping hot, the chicken was white inside and perfectly crispy and golden brown, and the rice was hot and delicious too. Sauce had great flavor, not too sweet. Thank you for a good meal because I really needed a comfort meal when I ordered it and it did all that it needed to

Like others have stated, the waiting area is a little dated. Not much to it really. But the kitchen looks clean and organized from what I can see. The woman that greets you is always very friendly. But the food, which is why you come here, is excellent! Rice is cooked perfectly, everything that I've had so far was prepared the way you'd expect and seasoned just right. Even dishes like the Egg Foo Yung aren't overwhelmed with salt. Highly recommend dining here. One of the few quality Chinese take-outs left in the area.

Prices were good. Food was okay, some better than others. Honey chicken (breaded) was the best meal, the Mongolian beef was decent. What I don’t recommend- The veggies were slimy, the fried rice was absolutely terrible and that’s my favorite dish. The wonton soup was pretty unsavory, abd the chicken lo mein was not great. If I were you I’d order fried chicken off of this menu. Sloppy food.
