About China Moon

Located at 457 West Penn Avenue in Cleona, Pennsylvania, China Moon operates as a "Chinese Restaurant" providing a range of dishes to cater to those seeking Chinese cuisine in the local area. Situated in Cleona, it aims to offer a convenient dining option for residents and visitors looking for familiar Chinese flavors and potentially good value.

Based on the limited customer reviews available, specific details about the environment of China Moon are not extensively described. However, the mention of "friendly service" suggests a welcoming and positive atmosphere in terms of customer interaction. While the ambiance and decor are not detailed, customers might anticipate a standard, comfortable setting typical of many local Chinese restaurants, where the focus is primarily on the food and service.

The service at China Moon is described as "friendly" by one reviewer, indicating a positive aspect of the dining experience. This suggests that customers can expect to be treated courteously by the staff. However, no other details regarding specific services such as delivery, takeout efficiency, or dine-in amenities are provided in the available feedback. The emphasis on friendly service implies a customer-oriented approach, which can contribute positively to the overall dining experience.

China Moon appears to have several features that are noteworthy based on customer reviews. One significant point is that "Their Specialty dishes are really good" and come in "Large portions, enough for 2 meals." This suggests that the restaurant takes pride in certain signature dishes that offer substantial value, potentially making them a popular choice for those looking to share or have leftovers. Another highlighted feature is their "lunch/dinner value combination menu," which offers "a large selection of delicious meals" for those seeking a quick and affordable option. This indicates a focus on providing value to customers, particularly during lunch hours but also extending to dinner. A notable point mentioned by one reviewer is that "they don't use MSG," which can be a significant draw for health-conscious diners or those sensitive to monosodium glutamate. However, it is important to note a contrasting negative experience where a customer found the "honey chicken" to be "rock hard" with minimal meat, indicating potential inconsistencies in food quality. The "shrimp egg roll" received a neutral "pretty good" rating in the same review. These mixed comments suggest that while some dishes and aspects of China Moon are well-received, there might be variability in the quality of certain menu items.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for China Moon in the provided reviews. Details about special offers, discounts, or seasonal promotions are not mentioned. However, the existence of a "lunch/dinner value combination menu" can be considered a form of ongoing promotion, offering affordable meal options. The large portion sizes of the specialty dishes also imply a value aspect, as they are reportedly enough for two meals. These inherent value propositions, along with the mention of "great prices" by one reviewer, suggest that China Moon aims to offer competitively priced meals. Potential customers looking for budget-friendly options or substantial portions might find these aspects appealing.

In conclusion, China Moon in Cleona, PA, presents a mixed picture based on the limited customer reviews. It is praised for its "friendly service," "delicious foods," "great prices," and particularly for its "specialty dishes" that come in "large portions" suitable for sharing or leftovers. The availability of a "lunch/dinner value combination menu" and the fact that they reportedly do not use MSG are also positive aspects. However, a significant concern is raised by a review detailing a very negative experience with the quality of the honey chicken, indicating potential inconsistencies in food preparation. While the shrimp egg roll was rated as "pretty good," this mixed feedback suggests that while some dishes at China Moon may be well-received, quality control might be an area for potential diners to consider. For local users in Cleona looking for a Chinese restaurant with friendly service, large portions on specialty dishes, and a value menu, China Moon might be worth considering. However, the reported inconsistency in food quality suggests that individual experiences may vary.

I got the honey chicken with white rice and a shrimp egg roll today. The egg roll was pretty good, but the honey chicken was rock hard. Every piece was pretty much just breading with no meat inside and hard. I was able to eat the vegetables (onions and sugar peas) and rice, but that was it. It was a total waste of money. I don't think I'll be back for quite awhile.
