About China Moon

Welcome to China Moon, a Chinese restaurant located at 2700 W College Ave #12, Appleton, WI 54914, USA. China Moon offers a variety of Chinese dishes to the Appleton community, with services primarily focused on delivery and pick-up, although dine-in options may also be available. For orders or inquiries, they can be contacted at (920) 954-6884 or +1 920-954-6884.

Based on the limited recent customer feedback, experiences with China Moon appear to be divided, with one customer expressing long-term satisfaction with their delivery and pick-up orders, while another reported significant dissatisfaction with the quality of specific dishes. These contrasting views provide an objective, albeit mixed, perspective on what potential customers might expect.

One long-time customer shared their positive experiences with China Moon's delivery and pick-up services. They mentioned ordering frequently and typically opting for dishes such as hot and sour soup, shrimp in lobster sauce, and other items based on their cravings. Importantly, this customer stated, "Have never been disappointed... always delicious." This positive endorsement over multiple orders suggests a level of consistency and quality in at least some of China Moon's offerings, particularly for their delivery and pick-up clientele. The reviewer also noted a minor issue with occasional abruptness when answering the phone but quickly dismissed it, emphasizing their satisfaction with the food and the politeness of the delivery drivers. This suggests that while there might be occasional inconsistencies in phone etiquette, the core aspects of their service, namely food quality for off-premise consumption and delivery courtesy, have been reliable for this customer.

In stark contrast, another customer reported a highly negative experience with a recent order that included orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and plain lo mein. This reviewer detailed significant issues with each of these dishes. The sweet and sour sauce was described as "watered down," implying a lack of richness and flavor. The orange chicken was criticized for tasting like "chicken nuggets that sat in a pot of sauce all day," resulting in a "absolutely gross taste" that rendered it inedible for the reviewer. The plain lo mein was said to taste like it was "pulled from a fridge and warmed in a microwave," suggesting a lack of freshness and proper preparation. Overall, this customer strongly advised against ordering from or dining at China Moon, even going so far as to speculate that the fortune cookie might have been stale. This strongly negative assessment of multiple core dishes raises serious concerns about the current food quality at China Moon.

Interestingly, the reviewer who had the negative food experience did note one positive aspect: "The good was the service didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth..." This suggests that the interaction with the staff, at least during the order placement or pick-up, was satisfactory. However, this positive service experience was overshadowed by the poor quality of the food, leading the reviewer to conclude that the $30 spent on the three inedible items was a waste of money and likely contributed to the restaurant's less-than-three-star rating on Google.

Based on these two reviews, it is difficult to ascertain the environment of China Moon's dine-in area, as one reviewer explicitly stated they had never dined in, and the other did not comment on the ambiance. Therefore, we have no reliable information regarding the restaurant's decor, seating capacity, or overall atmosphere for on-premise dining.

Regarding services, China Moon clearly offers both delivery and pick-up options, which have been utilized and appreciated by at least one long-term customer. The politeness of the delivery drivers was also specifically mentioned as a positive aspect of their service. The other reviewer's comment about the service not leaving a bad taste suggests that the staff interaction was neutral to positive, even amidst dissatisfaction with the food. However, the potential inconsistency in phone etiquette mentioned by the first reviewer indicates a possible area for improvement in customer service interactions.

In terms of features, the positive reviewer's repeated orders of hot and sour soup and shrimp in lobster sauce suggest that these might be signature or well-prepared dishes at China Moon, at least for their delivery and pick-up service. However, the negative reviewer's experience with orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and lo mein indicates that the quality of other common Chinese-American dishes may be lacking. This inconsistency makes it challenging to identify specific features that consistently stand out as positive aspects of China Moon's offerings.

There is no information provided in these reviews about any promotional offers, discounts, or special deals that China Moon might be currently running. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly.

In conclusion, China Moon in Appleton, WI, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While one long-term customer has consistently enjoyed their delivery and pick-up orders, particularly mentioning the hot and sour soup and shrimp in lobster sauce, another customer reported significant issues with the quality of the orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and lo mein. The service seems to be generally adequate, with polite delivery drivers, although phone etiquette might occasionally be abrupt. The dine-in environment remains unknown based on the provided feedback. The inconsistency in food quality across different dishes is a key concern for potential new customers. Local users considering China Moon should weigh these contrasting experiences and perhaps inquire about the preparation of specific dishes before placing an order, especially for those intending to order items that have received negative feedback.

For those in the Appleton area looking for Chinese delivery or pick-up, China Moon has proven reliable and delicious for at least one frequent customer. However, the starkly negative experience of another diner serves as a cautionary note, particularly regarding the quality of common dishes like orange chicken and lo mein. Without more information or a broader range of recent reviews, it is difficult to provide a definitive recommendation. Potential customers might want to consider trying a smaller order initially, focusing on dishes that have received positive mentions, to gauge the current quality and consistency of China Moon's food.

I have never dined in, but ordered delivery and pick up many times. Usually hot & sour soup, shrimp in lobster sauce and whatever else I am in the mood for. Have never been disappointed.. always delicious. Yes, now and then there was a very abrupt person answering the phone, but so what? I am paying for what I was hungry for, the delivery guy is always nice and polite, they always come through and will continue to be my go to☺️

Ordered the orange chicken, sweet & sour chicken and plain lo mein.... 1. Sweet and sour sauce tasted like was watered down 2. Orange chicken tasted like it was chicken nuggets that sat in a pot of sauce all day, absolutely gross taste, I didn't even eat 1 full peice. 3 Lo mein tasted like it was pulled from a fridge and warmed in a microwave.... Overall do not go here, do not eat here, I'm thinking even the fortune cookie was stale.... The good was the service didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth... But 3 items for $30 that I threw away, no wonder it holds a less than 3 star on google

We ordered chicken with broccoli and fried rice, Orange chicken with white rice, and 2 egg rolls. The fried rice had a weird burnt taste and peas that weren't close to green in color (probably freezer burnt). The orange chicken chunks were missing chicken chunks; we were given burnt tasting chunks of breading! Gross! The egg rolls are mushy veggie rolls, not an egg roll. It was absolutely disgusting! This review serves that type of establishment. I'd give no stars if I could!

I can't believe all the negative review on this place. For the price of lunch, and the quantity you get, it can't be beat! I am out and about during the week for my work so this a common stop for me. I could stop at other fast food locations and pay $10 plus for lunch but for $7 and some change, this is a winner! I usually get the sweet and sour chicken that comes with fried rice, egg roll and fortune cookie. Now that I'm thinking about it...I'm getting it again today!

Didn’t eat in. Ordered through Eat Streets. Ordered General Tso’s Chicken. Frankly, extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. The chicken was so tough, it was worse than an overcooked steak. For a dish that is so simple, I would expect it to be better than that! Don’t expect good quality! Flavor wasn’t even close to a good General Tso’s Chicken. Was more like a cheap BBQ sauce.
