Based on the customer reviews, China Moon excels in providing a "truly delicious takeout experience." This suggests that their food travels well and maintains its quality even when enjoyed off-premises. While one review specifically highlights the takeout, the second review, indicating general satisfaction "95% of the time," implies that they likely also offer a dine-in service, allowing customers to enjoy their meals at the restaurant as well. As a Chinese restaurant, China Moon likely offers a diverse menu featuring a variety of classic and perhaps some specialty Chinese dishes, catering to different tastes and preferences.
The environment of China Moon is not explicitly described in the provided reviews. However, the positive feedback regarding the takeout experience suggests that the focus is on the quality of the food preparation and packaging for off-site consumption. For dine-in customers, one might expect a comfortable and welcoming setting typical of a local Chinese restaurant, aiming to provide a pleasant ambiance for enjoying a meal. Given the positive sentiment in the reviews, it is likely that the restaurant maintains a clean and organized space for both its kitchen operations and dining area, if available.
The primary service highlighted in the reviews is takeout, which is described as "truly delicious." This indicates efficiency in order preparation and packaging that ensures the food remains appealing even after transport. The second review's overall positive sentiment suggests that the service, whether for takeout or dine-in, is generally satisfactory. While specific details about additional services like online ordering or delivery are not mentioned, these are common offerings for many restaurants today, and it would be advisable to contact China Moon directly to inquire about their availability.
A key feature of China Moon is the exceptional quality and taste of their food, particularly for takeout. One reviewer specifically praised two dishes: the "salt and pepper fish" and the "eggplant and tofu." The salt and pepper fish was noted for being "crispy (even as takeout!) and so tasty," which is a significant achievement as fried foods often lose their crispness when taken away. The eggplant and tofu were described as "so soft and packed with flavor," indicating a skillful preparation that maximizes both texture and taste in a vegetarian dish.
The fact that these dishes are highlighted as favorites suggests that China Moon has specialties that are particularly well-executed and popular among their customers. The positive description of these specific items can serve as recommendations for new customers looking to try some of their best offerings. The emphasis on fresh taste and good texture, even for takeout, underscores the restaurant's commitment to quality.
The second reviewer's statement, "Yes. 95% of the time, I’m a happy camper! There’s been a few slight hiccups here and there but I appreciate this spot," indicates a high level of overall satisfaction and a degree of loyalty to China Moon. The acknowledgment of occasional "slight hiccups" suggests a realistic perspective, but the overriding sentiment is positive appreciation. This implies that the restaurant generally provides a consistent and enjoyable experience for its patrons.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available from the provided reviews. Local restaurants often have specials, lunch menus, or other promotions to attract customers. Individuals interested in China Moon may want to check local listings, the restaurant's website (if one exists), or contact them directly to inquire about any current offers or featured dishes.
For local users in Moraga seeking a reliable Chinese restaurant with a focus on delicious takeout, China Moon comes highly recommended, particularly for their salt and pepper fish and eggplant and tofu dishes. The positive feedback on the quality of the food, even when taken away, suggests a commitment to maintaining high standards. While the environment is not detailed, the emphasis on food quality and satisfactory service makes China Moon a strong contender for those craving Chinese cuisine in the Moraga area.
In conclusion, China Moon in Moraga stands out as a Chinese restaurant that provides a "truly delicious takeout experience," with specific praise for their salt and pepper fish and eggplant and tofu. A truly delicious takeout experience. Two of my favorite dishes are the salt and pepper fish and eggplant and tofu. The fish is crispy (even as takeout!) and so tasty. The eggplant and tofu are so soft and packed with flavor. I recommend China moon!
Yes. 95% of the time, I’m a happy camper! There’s been a few slight hiccups here and there but I appreciate this spot.
A great Cantonese restaurant in the food desert known as Lamorinda. All dishes are good but I highly recommend their salt and pepper spareribs, Hong Kong style chow Mein and whatever is on their daily special menu.
Moraga is one of the last places on earth that you would expect a decent Chinese restaurant. But here you go. Believe me or not, China Moon actually has a pretty good reputation among the Chinese in the area. It is not fancy. It is just simple, authentic, honest Chinese food run by a very friendly Chinese family. It is very reasonably price. The portions are huge. Some Chinese even ask the chef to get fresh fish from Oakland to prepare for them. Keep it going, China Moon!
Love this place. Family owned and good quality in the middle of Rheem Moraga. Good value during lunch but go for dinner and try the menu. So many good options. Little on the older side for decor but food is good.
