About China Moon Buffet
China Moon Buffet, located at 1400 US-302 in Barre, Vermont, has been a part of the local dining scene for many years, operating within the Chinese Restaurant category. This establishment offers a buffet-style dining experience, providing a wide array of Chinese dishes for customers to choose from. Based on customer reviews, China Moon Buffet has garnered a loyal following over the years, with many patrons having dined there for a significant period.
The environment at China Moon Buffet is described by one long-time customer as having a "cute and affordable" ambiance in the past, contributing to its popularity as a local spot. Another reviewer mentions that the "atmosphere is so relaxing," suggesting a comfortable and enjoyable setting for diners. The fact that it has become a regular dining destination for some, referred to as "our place," indicates a welcoming and pleasant environment that encourages repeat visits. The staff is consistently praised for being "great" and friendly, contributing positively to the overall dining experience.
As a buffet-style Chinese restaurant, the primary service offered by China Moon Buffet is an all-you-can-eat experience. Customers can serve themselves from a variety of dishes available at the buffet stations. One notable feature mentioned in a review is the responsiveness of the staff in replenishing the buffet. When a dish is running low or empty, customers only need to inform the staff, and more of that dish is promptly prepared and brought out. This suggests an attentive service aimed at ensuring a continuous supply of fresh food for the buffet. While the focus is on the buffet service, it is important to note a recent change in policy regarding taking leftover food home. According to one review, there is now a charge for obtaining a box to take unfinished food, which was not the case in the past.
A significant feature of China Moon Buffet is the variety and quality of the food offered. A long-time customer with extensive experience dining at the restaurant describes the food as "amazing," indicating a high standard of taste and preparation. The buffet format allows diners to sample a wide range of Chinese dishes, catering to different preferences. The positive feedback regarding the food quality from a customer who has eaten there countless times underscores the consistent quality maintained over the years. The prompt replenishment of buffet items ensures that customers have access to fresh and readily available food throughout their meal.
However, a recent and significant point of feedback concerns the pricing at China Moon Buffet. A long-time patron expressed disappointment over the increased cost of dining, stating that the prices have "gone up like crazy." This reviewer provided a specific example, noting that a meal for three people, including taking leftovers home (for which there is now an additional charge for the box), amounted to $93. This has led to a perception of the restaurant becoming "unaffordable" compared to its previous image as a "cute and affordable place." While the reviewer acknowledges inflation and the need for workers to earn a living, they feel that the price increase is substantial, especially given the restaurant's popularity. This suggests that while the food and atmosphere remain appealing to some, the cost may now be a deterrent for other potential or returning customers.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for China Moon Buffet in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any discounts, special offers, or updated pricing should contact the restaurant directly at (802) 476-8880 or +1 802-476-8880 to inquire. Given the recent feedback regarding price increases, it would be prudent for potential customers to confirm the current pricing before visiting.
In conclusion, China Moon Buffet in Barre, VT, is a long-established Chinese restaurant offering a buffet-style dining experience. It has been a beloved local spot for many years, known for its relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, and a wide selection of "amazing" food that is promptly replenished. However, recent feedback indicates a significant increase in prices, leading to concerns about affordability and the introduction of a charge for takeout boxes for leftovers. While some customers continue to frequent it as their "place" for dining out, potential visitors should be aware of the reported price changes. For those seeking a buffet-style Chinese meal in Barre, VT, China Moon Buffet at 1400 US-302 remains an option, but it is recommended to verify current pricing and policies regarding takeout of unfinished food by contacting the restaurant directly at the provided phone numbers.

Ive been eating here since i was a little girl. I have eaten here a hundred times, maybe even more. The food is amazing, and the staff has always been great. Never have I had ANY issues. However, it's so unaffordable now. The prices have gone up like crazy. They even charge you to get a box to take what u haven't finished home...it used to be a cute and affordable place, but now, for 3 people ti eat and take what they haven't finished home, it cost $93??? Damnnnn. I can understand inflation and the workers needing to provide and earn money, but it's SO popular. Raising prices so high feels almost ridiculous.
My best friend & I come here at least once a week if we can!! This is "our place" when we want to go out to eat!!!! Always amazing food & atmosphere is so relaxingđ„° When something is almost gone or gone all you have to do is say something & within a few moments more is made & put out!! Can't wait to go back again this coming week!!!!
