About China Max

China Max is a Chinese restaurant located within the Montgomery Mall in North Wales, PA 19454, USA. Their address is within the mall, and they can be contacted at (215) 368-8098 or their mobile number +1 215-368-8098.

As a Chinese restaurant situated in a shopping mall, China Max likely offers a convenient option for shoppers seeking a quick meal or takeout. Recent customer reviews provide mixed feedback on their food and service.

One reviewer praised the fried rice and General Tso’s chicken as "very good." They found the service to be "very friendly" and noted positive interactions with a middle-aged man and a young girl on staff. This customer expressed skepticism towards negative online reviews and stated they would "definitely eat there again," planning to try the General Tso's chicken again.

However, another customer reported a disappointing experience with certain dishes. They were dissatisfied with chicken dumplings that were not identified as chicken instead of the traditional pork, the coconut chicken which had too much dough and not enough chicken, and overcooked string beans (though fresher ones were appreciated). On the positive side, this reviewer raved about the chicken and broccoli, describing it as their "favorite ever," noting it was well-seasoned and the chicken and broccoli were cooked perfectly. They also enjoyed the saucy lo mein and the tender, flavorful chicken teriyaki. Interestingly, their boyfriend, who doesn't typically enjoy Chinese food, finished their bourbon chicken, suggesting it was also well-received.

Based on these reviews, China Max seems to have some standout dishes like the fried rice, General Tso's chicken, and especially the chicken and broccoli. However, there are also inconsistencies in the quality and preparation of other items, such as the dumplings and coconut chicken. Service appears to be friendly. As a mall-based restaurant, the environment is likely typical of a food court setting. No specific details about promotions or unique features are mentioned in the provided reviews.

Fried rice was very good as was the General Tso chicken. The beef in the pepper steak was chewy and had an odd taste so I don't recommend that. The pepper and onion in the pepper steak was good, though. The service was very friendly (middle aged man and young girl). I don't know why other people want to slander this place (autistic cat? Seriously? Grow up.) with their one star reviews. They don't seem credible to me. I would definitely eat there again. Big plate of the general chicken next time.

I wish they told me the dumpings were chicken instead of traditional pork or I wouldn't have ordered them. Had to wait 15 minutes for them and didn't even eat them because I hate chicken dumplings. Also, the coconut chicken sauce was good, but had too much dough and not enough chicken. Pretty disappointed in the overcooked string beans since it's hard to mess them up but the fresher ones were great :) Positives are that this is my favorite chicken and broccoli I've ever had! Not too salty but not bland, the chicken was tender and had great texture; the broccoli wasn't over or under cooked and took the sauce well. The lo mein was also perfect! It was saucy so it wasn't just dry noodles. The chicken terriyaki was tender as well and not saucy but still flavorful. My boyfriend doesn't eat much chinese food but he finished all of their bourbon chicken so that's saying something! Will be back soon!

This food is cooked in oyster sauce. I am highly allergic to shellfish. There should be a sign!!! I told the girl I could not have shrimp. She was so concerned selling me another entree for only a dollar that she missed the fact that I was allergic. Who would think broccoli and chicken are done in shellfish? When I tasted the food I went right back and confirmed it was and she said oh sorry. No refund!!! $8.00!worth of food in the trash and a, thank God, mild reaction.

This is our **favorite** Chinese restaurant, which is funny because it's in a mall. We're not exactly mall people or around the corner from it, but we'll specifically go to the mall JUST for this place! Michael is always super friendly and recognizes us as soon as we walk in. I guess you could say it's our "go-to" restaurant for "to-go" Chinese food.

It's currently 5am. I am writing this to say that I am near certain that I received food poisoning from this place. I had orange chicken and a drink. It was my first meal all day. To keep this from being TMI: I have been put through the wringer since 11pm last night. I will never eat here again. The orange chicken wasn't anything special anyway. Go elsewhere.
