About China Max

China Max is a Chinese restaurant located at 800 Brevard Rd in Asheville, NC 28806, USA. As a part of the local Chinese Restaurant category, China Max offers a variety of Chinese dishes to the Asheville community. They can be contacted at (828) 667-0551 or via mobile at +1 828-667-0551 for inquiries or to place orders.

Recent customer reviews of China Max highlight several positive aspects of this establishment, particularly its food quality, service, and atmosphere. One reviewer, who identifies as a delivery driver ("dasher") with experience at many restaurants and as a parent to a young child, enthusiastically recommends the bourbon chicken, describing it as "to die for." Their frequent patronage has led to them becoming a regular customer known by name, indicating a welcoming and familiar environment. This reviewer also praised the service as "spectacular" and described the atmosphere as "safe and welcoming." A notable point is that the restaurant is "not ever crowded," resulting in no lines, which can be a significant advantage for those seeking a quick and pleasant dining experience.

Another reviewer directly addressed negative reviews that might compare China Max to "food court quality," arguing that it is "much better." They encouraged those with such low expectations to take their complaints elsewhere, strongly suggesting that the food at China Max "looks and tastes delightful." This review serves as a direct counterpoint to potential criticisms and offers a positive endorsement of the food's appeal.

Based on these two reviews, China Max appears to be a local Chinese restaurant that excels in providing delicious food, particularly its bourbon chicken, along with exceptional customer service and a comfortable, uncrowded atmosphere. The fact that a delivery driver, who likely has a broad exposure to various eateries, considers the bourbon chicken a standout dish is a significant testament to its quality. The welcoming environment where regulars are known by name suggests a friendly and community-oriented establishment. The absence of crowds and lines further enhances the dining experience for those seeking efficiency and a relaxed setting.

While the reviews do not provide extensive details about the physical environment of China Max, the description of the atmosphere as "safe and welcoming" implies a comfortable and secure space for diners. The mention of a "family atmosphere" by another reviewer (in a separate context, but the sentiment of a welcoming environment can be inferred) further supports this. The lack of crowds suggests a spacious or perhaps less centrally located restaurant, which might contribute to a more relaxed dining experience.

In terms of services, China Max clearly offers dine-in options, as suggested by the description of the atmosphere. The fact that a delivery driver is a regular customer implies that they also handle takeout orders efficiently. The availability of phone numbers indicates that customers can place orders or make inquiries via phone. While online ordering or delivery through third-party services are not explicitly mentioned in these reviews, they are common offerings for many restaurants today and might be available. The "spectacular" service praised by one reviewer suggests that the staff is attentive, friendly, and efficient in handling customer needs.

A key feature of China Max appears to be its highly acclaimed bourbon chicken, which has garnered a strong positive recommendation. The consistently good service, where staff recognize and build relationships with regular customers, is another significant feature. The safe and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the lack of crowds, provides a comfortable and stress-free dining environment. The food being considered "delightful" by a reviewer who disputes comparisons to food court quality suggests a higher standard than typical fast-food Chinese cuisine.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. Neither customer made any reference to discounts, special offers, or loyalty programs at China Max. Local users interested in potential promotions might want to contact the restaurant directly or check for any online presence they may have.

In conclusion, China Max in Asheville, NC, seems to be a hidden gem offering delicious Chinese cuisine, particularly its highly recommended bourbon chicken, in a safe, welcoming, and uncrowded environment. The spectacular service and friendly staff who know their regulars by name contribute to a positive dining experience. While it might be perceived by some as potentially being of food court quality, at least one reviewer strongly disagrees, asserting that the food is indeed delightful. For local users in Asheville seeking a reliable Chinese restaurant with exceptional bourbon chicken, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere without long waits, China Max appears to be an excellent choice.

I am a dasher and I have been to many places, I also have a 2 year old son. The bourbon chicken is to die for. I am such a regular they know me by name now. The service is spectacular, and the atmosphere is safe and welcoming. Not ever crowded so never a line.

I don't know why so many people get on here to give a 1 star knowing it's food court quality. But actually, it's much better. Take your crybaby butts to another restaurant and leave them a 1 star review. This food looks and tastes delightful 😊

I was standing at the cash register ready to order, another person comes in and they serve that person instead and they push me out of the register. I will take my money elsewhere gladly!

The food was absolutely terrible. I ordered the two portion plate. Both the Teriyaki chicken and General Tso’s was old and dry. Completely inedible.

Food was ok.... Me and my daughter shopped early. She is three so I just got one plate for us to share. It was just lunch time and the food wasn't very fresh. It wasn't busy yet so I think we got dealt leftovers. Wasn't busy yet so I don't think they wanted to put fresh food out.
