Based on recent customer reviews, the experience at China King Restaurant appears to be somewhat inconsistent, with one review highlighting a significant negative experience while another describes a highly positive one. One long-term customer, who had frequented the restaurant for approximately five years and considered it their "go-to place," even with consistent orders over $50 including delivery fees, reported a severely disappointing experience with a recent order. This customer described receiving burnt noodles and an excessive amount of onions in a dish where little to no onions were requested. Their disappointment was compounded by what they described as "deplorable" customer service. According to this reviewer, the employee who answered their call accused them of lying about the issue, even after being informed that the customer had photographic evidence. While the employee did acknowledge finding more shrimp than initially stated after the customer sifted through the onions and burnt noodles, the overall interaction was negative, with the employee allegedly telling the customer to call the manager the next day and then hanging up. The reviewer also claimed that during their brief conversation, the employee spoke to another staff member about the restaurant's longevity in business, and the call was ultimately disconnected. This negative experience led the long-time customer to express that a "good relationship gone bad in one afternoon," urging others to look at their pictures and compare them to the restaurant's website image of the shrimp lo mein to judge the discrepancy.
In stark contrast, another customer reported having the "BEST takeout" from China King Restaurant. This reviewer stated that the restaurant is their "go to" place and was impressed that their order was still very hot upon arriving home. Their order included Chicken & Broccoli with chicken fried rice, and their fiancé's order was General Tso's Chicken with shrimp fried rice. Both were rated a perfect "10/10." The egg rolls were also praised for being "delicious" and having a "nice crunch." The reviewer specifically mentioned that their Chicken & Broccoli dish was "loaded," implying a generous portion size. This overwhelmingly positive review suggests that China King Restaurant is capable of providing high-quality food and efficient takeout service.
Considering these two contrasting reviews, it is difficult to draw a definitive conclusion about the typical experience at China King Restaurant. The positive review highlights the tasty food, generous portions, and efficient takeout, with the food arriving hot. The negative review, however, raises serious concerns about food quality (burnt noodles, incorrect ingredient proportions) and, more significantly, the unprofessional and confrontational customer service encountered when attempting to address these issues. The discrepancy between these two recent experiences suggests potential inconsistencies in food preparation and customer service.
The reviews provide limited information about the restaurant's environment. The focus is primarily on the takeout experience. Therefore, details about the décor, seating arrangements, or overall ambiance of a potential dine-in area are not available. It can be inferred that China King Restaurant likely offers takeout service, and based on one review, it is a popular choice for this option.
Similarly, the reviews do not mention any specific features of China King Restaurant, such as unique dishes or a particular style of Chinese cuisine beyond the standard American Chinese fare suggested by the dishes ordered (Chicken & Broccoli, General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein). The positive reviewer's mention of "delicious" and "nice crunch" egg rolls could be considered a positive feature of that specific appetizer.
Neither of the reviews provides any information about current promotional offers, discounts, or special deals that China King Restaurant might be running. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly to inquire.
For local users in Martinsburg, WV, considering China King Restaurant, it is crucial to acknowledge the mixed feedback. While one customer had an exceptionally positive takeout experience with delicious and hot food, another long-term patron reported a severely negative experience with both food quality and customer service. The stark contrast suggests that the quality and service may be inconsistent. Potential customers might want to weigh these recent experiences and perhaps consider placing a small initial order to assess the current standards before placing a larger one. The positive review indicates the potential for a very good takeout experience, but the negative review serves as a warning about potential issues with food preparation and customer service handling.
In conclusion, China King Restaurant in Martinsburg, WV, offers Chinese cuisine with a focus on takeout. Recent customer reviews present a mixed picture, with one praising the tasty food and efficient service, while another details significant issues with food quality and highly unprofessional customer service. Local residents should be aware of these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to patronize China King Restaurant.

Customer Reviews
Let me say that every establishment can have a bad day! I have preferred this restaurant over many others since I moved here approximately 5 years ago. This is my go to place! Even during the pandemic and my totals are always over $50 and that's before tax and delivery fees. OK with that said, I ordered food today and it was the worst! burnt noodles, I asked for little to no onions but got almost 1/2 carton full. Disappointed would be putting it mildly. The CUSTOMER The SERVICE was deplorable! The woman that answered my call actually called me a liar! I told her I had pictures, she told me that I had more than 4 shrimp and to her credit, after I dug through the pile of onions and burnt noodles I did find 6 more, but I let you be the judge, I took pictures. The employee told me to call the manager the next day and hung up the phone. I wasn't yelling, I just wanted reorder my food but make them aware. After my brief conversation with her (which included her talking to another employee about how long they have been in business) our call was disconnected. All I can say is this: The proof is in the pudding, look at my pictures and look at the website at a picture of the shrimp lo mien and you be the judge. A good relationship gone bad in one afternoon.
Just literally had the BEST takeout from here. This place is our go too. Our order was literally still very hot when I got home with it! My order consisted of Chicken & broccoli, with chicken fried rice. My fiancés was General tso chicken with shrimp fried rice. 10/10. Egg rolls were delicious, had a nice crunch to them. (My chicken & broccoli was loaded, But needless to say I may of had some bites in between) lol.
General tso combo with fried rice and an order of crab rangoons…. Egg rolls are always crispy. It’s my go to place , tried another place . And I came back here. It’s got everything you need in a takeout place. Fast efficient and great price.
Food has been delicious here both times. The older woman is super friendly and sweet. The younger one not so much. And they are fast!! One of my favorite places!
Ordered shrimp chow mein using doordash, ordered based on its picture and when I received it I was shocked that it looked nothing like the picture. Was expecting a more variety of of veggies in it an it was mostly onion and I guess some type of Chinese cabbage. It had no color an had no flavor accept onion. I feel it should have come looking close to the picture that showed it. Very disappointed, wander how many other things are not as pictured.
