About China King
China King, situated at 4301 S National Ave in Springfield, Missouri, operates within the Chinese Restaurant category, offering a range of dishes to local diners. Based on the limited customer reviews available online, experiences at China King appear to be varied, with some patrons expressing high satisfaction while others report significant disappointment. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of China King based on this feedback, touching upon aspects of their food quality and the overall dining experience, where information is provided.
Details regarding the environment or ambiance of China King are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Typically, Chinese restaurants aim to create a comfortable and functional space for dining, often featuring décor that reflects Chinese cultural elements. However, without specific comments on the atmosphere, cleanliness, or layout of China King, it is not possible to provide a detailed description of its environment based solely on the given information.
The services offered by China King likely include both dine-in and takeout options, as is standard for many Chinese restaurants. The presence of a phone number, (417) 889-7888 or +1 417-889-7888, suggests that customers can place orders for pickup. However, the reviews do not specifically mention the availability of delivery services or any unique service features. The focus of the feedback is primarily on the quality of the food.
According to one positive review, China King offers some standout dishes. The Crab Rangoon is praised for not being overly sweet, a characteristic that the reviewer appreciates. The Orange Chicken is described as tasting "authentic," suggesting a preparation that aligns with traditional flavors. The Vegetable Fried Rice is noted for having a unique "stirfry flavor" that sets it apart from other versions. Additionally, the Hot and Sour Soup is highlighted as being particularly good. The reviewer, who claims past experience working at other Chinese restaurants, vouches for the quality and authenticity of these items, indicating they are features worth noting.
However, a contrasting review paints a much less favorable picture. This customer expressed significant disappointment with their meal, which included Coconut Chicken and Wonton Soup. They found both dishes to be "not very palatable," stating they couldn't even finish the soup, which is usually a favorite. The reviewer described the food as "greasy" and the fried strips meant for the soup as "stale," to the point of almost spitting them out. Their experience with the Coconut Chicken and its sauce, which they likened to "mayonnaise mixed with coconut milk," was also negative. This customer reported feeling "awful" after eating at China King and concluded they would not return unless absolutely starving.
The stark contrast between these two reviews indicates a potential inconsistency in food quality or a significant difference in individual preferences and expectations. While one customer found several dishes to be exceptional and authentic, another experienced multiple dishes as poorly prepared and unappetizing. This makes it difficult to provide a definitive assessment of the overall food quality at China King. Potential customers should be aware of these differing opinions.
No information regarding promotional offers at China King is available in the provided reviews. Chinese restaurants often have lunch specials, combination meals, or discounts for certain days or order sizes. Best Chinese food I’ve had in a while. The crab Rangoon’s are not too sweet. The orange chicken taste authentic the Vegetable fried rice has a stirfry flavor that you don’t get anywhere else. And best, hot and sour soup. I worked at Chinese chef and Lucy’s for A while long ago, so I know my Chinese food.
Food was very disappointing. I got coconut chicken & wonton soup. Not very palatable. Couldn’t even finish my soup and wonton soup is usually my favorite to get at a Chinese restaurant. If I was starving, I’d eat here again. Otherwise, I won’t give it another try. Greasy food. Stale fried strips to go in the soup. I almost spit it out. Didn’t each much of the chicken and coconut sauce. Tasted like it was mayonnaise mixed with coconut milk. Yuk. Felt awful after eating here. Lesson learned.
Quite possibly the worst chinese food in Springfield. The gas station egg rolls are better. Everything we got was terrible. The cashew chicken sauce tasted like the gravy I put on my mashed potatoes. The sweet & sour tasted very watered down. No flavor. And the general was the same. The crab ragoons were terrible as well. Very little flavor, but also didnt even taste like cream cheese. Nothing had any flavor and tasted like cardboard. Don't waste your money.
My son and I love the chicken lo mein. My husband always gets the sesame chicken and typically says it's dry or old. After two times in a row of that, I guess we won't be getting that anymore. The egg roll was overcooked but still ok.
General Tso chicken was delicious. I had a hard time understanding when I called my order in, but that's probably a me problem. One dinner sized serving was too much for two people to eat.
