About China King

Welcome to China King, a Chinese restaurant located at 3954 S Broadway in St. Louis, Missouri. As a Chinese Restaurant within the platform category, China King aims to serve the local community with a selection of familiar Chinese dishes, providing options for both dining in and taking away.

Based on recent customer feedback, it is important for potential diners to be aware of some significant concerns regarding the food quality at China King. One customer described their order as "one of the worst Chinese orders I’ve ever had." This review specifically mentioned that the General Tso's chicken lacked flavor, except for an excess of pepper flakes, and the rice had a mushy texture. The vegetables were deemed unappetizing, and the crab rangoon filling was described as old and separated, leading the customer to question the overall quality of the food being served.

Another customer echoed these negative sentiments, stating that they would have given zero stars if possible. Their experience with the chicken in the fried rice was particularly poor, describing it as either gummy or spongy and completely tasteless. While they noted that the rice and egg themselves were not bad, the quality of the chicken rendered the dish inedible for them, even though they were hungry. This customer's decision to stop at China King was based on its proximity to a laundromat, highlighting that convenience was a factor in their choice, but the food ultimately did not meet their expectations.

These two recent reviews paint a concerning picture of the food quality at China King, particularly regarding popular dishes such as General Tso's chicken, fried rice, and crab rangoon. The issues raised include lack of flavor, poor texture of key ingredients like chicken and rice, and concerns about the freshness of fillings.

Regarding the environment and services, the provided reviews do not offer specific details about the dine-in atmosphere of China King. The focus of the feedback is solely on the quality of the food received, implying that the customers' experiences were primarily based on takeout or perhaps very brief dine-in encounters where the food was the main point of concern. Therefore, it is difficult to objectively describe the ambiance or the level of service beyond the preparation of the food itself based on this limited information.

In terms of features, China King is a local Chinese restaurant offering a menu of standard dishes. Its location on South Broadway in St. Louis makes it accessible to residents in the surrounding area. The availability of both dine-in and takeout services is a typical feature of many Chinese restaurants, catering to different customer preferences for how they wish to enjoy their meals. However, the recent negative reviews suggest that while these basic services are offered, the quality of the primary product – the food – may be inconsistent or unsatisfactory according to some customers.

Currently, there is no information available in these reviews regarding any promotional offers or special deals that China King might be running. For local users interested in potential discounts or promotions, it would be advisable to contact the restaurant directly at (314) 776-5400 or +1 314-776-5400 to inquire about any current specials. Additionally, checking local online platforms or delivery apps might provide information on deals if China King partners with them.

In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for China King at 3954 S Broadway in St. Louis, MO, raise significant concerns about the quality of their food. Multiple customers have reported issues with flavor, texture, and freshness across different dishes, leading to highly negative dining experiences. While China King operates as a Chinese restaurant offering dine-in and takeout services in a convenient location, potential customers should be aware of these recent negative reviews when considering their options for Chinese cuisine in the area. The lack of information about the environment or specific services beyond food preparation makes it challenging to provide a comprehensive introduction. It is recommended that individuals consider these recent experiences when making a decision and perhaps look for more up-to-date feedback from other sources if available.

I have to say this was one of the worst Chinese orders I’ve ever had . The general tsos chicken and no flavor except pepper flake and the rice was mushy. I didn’t even attempt to eat the veggies. Crab Rangoon filling was old and separated . How do you serve this garbage? I’m sticking with China Garden on Gravois. They never disappoint

Only reason they got 1 star is because there wasnt an option for no stars… the chicken in the fried rice was either gummy or spongy it varied between the two. It was tasteless no flavor… the rice itself and the egg wasnt bad but the chicken was terrible… only stopped here because i was hungry and it was next door to the laundromat… well im still hungry i cant stomach the rest of the box even dodging the bits of chicken in the rice

Went in there today 9/12/2024 to buy myself and my niece some lunch because we had just left the doctors. Anyway i live in north county and ordered a uber. I'm thinking when i get hime that I'm going to have something good to eat. Noooo. I order fried chicken combo with plain fried rice and a egg roll. And a half oder of plain fried rice with green unions and bean sprouts. Anyway the plaind fried rice had a nasty after taste that i didn't care for, and the egg roll was so disgusting that i threw it in tge garbage immediately. The cabbage was gummy felt like it came out the garbage. The breading on the chicken was falling off , just really a waste of money. I've only eaten at this place twice. Once 17 years ago and today. If i would of had my car i wouldn't have eaten there then would have went somewhere else. I will never eat in this place again. Wish i could have given zero stars.

I felt completely disrespected eating the Ham Fried Rice and the House Special Fried Rice. The rice was totally undercooked, it was hard and crunchy as if I were eating small ants. I know they don't make they rice like this at home! The pork was ok, the shrimp tasted like iron and it was only 2 of them. This seemed rushed and tasted terrible. It’s way better rice houses in st.louis. I wish I could sue for the emotional damage, the food was not satisfying.
