About China King
China King is a Chinese restaurant situated at 161 NC-705 Hwy in Robbins, North Carolina. As a Chinese Restaurant, China King provides the local community with a variety of Chinese culinary options, primarily focusing on takeout services, though delivery may also be available based on the context of a phone order. Due to the limited information in the provided reviews, details about the dine-in environment are not available.
Customer feedback for China King presents a stark contrast between the quality of the food and the level of customer service experienced. One highly satisfied customer expressed that, having eaten Chinese food across the country, China King stands out as "by far the best." They consistently found the food to be fresh, delicious, and served in generous portions. Furthermore, this reviewer praised the staff for being dedicated and friendly, expressing a strong affinity for the restaurant and specifically mentioning their love for the egg foo yung and the sweet and sour dishes.
However, another customer reported a significantly negative experience specifically related to the telephone customer service. This individual encountered rudeness and yelling from the staff member when attempting to clarify the menu and place an order for children. The online menu was reportedly inaccurate compared to what the restaurant actually offered, leading to the customer asking questions to ensure they ordered appropriately for their family. Despite explaining their need to adjust the order due to the unavailability of kids' meals (which they accepted), the staff member became increasingly agitated and yelled at the customer when they inquired about a specific "Happy Family Meal" listed on the online specialty menu. The staff member vehemently denied having an online menu and the "Happy Family Specialty," despite the customer referencing it. As a result of this hostile treatment while simply asking clarifying questions, the customer decided to cancel their order. While acknowledging that the food at China King had been good in past experiences, this incident was described as the "final straw" due to consistently subpar customer service, further compounded by being put on hold multiple times during the call.
Considering these two reviews, China King appears to offer high-quality Chinese food, with dishes like egg foo yung and sweet and sour receiving exceptional praise for freshness, taste, and generous portions. This suggests a dedication to the culinary aspect of their business. However, there are serious concerns raised regarding the customer service, particularly over the phone. The reported rudeness and lack of patience in addressing customer inquiries about menu discrepancies are significant issues that could deter potential patrons, despite the acknowledged quality of the food itself.
Based on the reviews, the primary service offered by China King is takeout. The mention of a phone order suggests that customers can place orders remotely for pickup. While one customer was attempting to order for delivery (implied by the context of ordering for a family and asking clarifying questions over the phone), it is not explicitly stated whether delivery is a standard service offered by China King. The positive review highlights the efficiency and friendliness of the staff during the in-person interaction, contrasting sharply with the negative phone interaction.
Features of China King include their commitment to using fresh ingredients, preparing delicious food, and providing large portion sizes, as lauded by one reviewer. The egg foo yung and sweet and sour dishes are specifically mentioned as favorites. However, a significant drawback appears to be the potential for rude and unhelpful customer service, particularly when dealing with phone inquiries and menu clarifications. The discrepancy between the online menu and the actual offerings is also a notable issue that can lead to customer frustration.
There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Therefore, details about any special offers, discounts, or featured dishes cannot be included in this introduction. Customers interested in learning about any potential promotions or obtaining an accurate menu should contact the restaurant directly, keeping in mind the reported inconsistencies and potential for negative phone interactions.
In conclusion, China King in Robbins, NC, is a Chinese restaurant that seems to excel in the quality and taste of its food, particularly dishes like egg foo yung and sweet and sour, and is known for its fresh ingredients and generous portions. However, potential customers should be aware of significant concerns raised regarding the customer service, especially over the phone, including reports of rudeness and unhelpfulness when addressing menu-related questions. The inaccuracy of the online menu compared to the actual offerings is another factor to consider. While the food may be "by far the best" according to one enthusiastic customer, the negative customer service experience reported by another could be a significant deterrent. If you value high-quality Chinese takeout and are prepared for potential challenges with phone communication or menu discrepancies, China King might be an option. You can contact them at (910) 948-9905 or +1 910-948-9905 for more information or to place an order, keeping in mind the reported customer service experiences.

Customer Reviews
I’ve had Chinese food all over the country and this is by far the best. It’s always fresh, delicious, huge portions, and the staff is dedicated and friendly. I love this place. I love the egg foo yung and the sweet and sour
The lady in the store got extremely rude and yelled at me over the phone because I asked a few questions about meals because the menu online is not accurate compared to what they actually have. I called to order kids meals and she told me they don't do them there which was fine with me I just had to alter how much i was getting to know what to get to share it among the kids. So because of that I was asking to make sure different stuff I wanted that was on the online menu they actually had so i would know if I needed to adjust anything else, then when I asked if they had the Happy Family Meal on the specialty part of the menu she got a attitude and yelled at me, "We have Happy Family! Don't have Happy Family Specialty! We don't have menu online!" So i told the lady because of her attitude with me just asking questions i would no longer be ordering. This place does make really good food, because I have ate there in the past but the customer service has not always been great but this was my final straw. There was no reason for how I was treated over the phone along with during the order I was put on hold 4 times.
This is a hidden gem! The food is excellent and plentiful. They don't skimp on the shrimp like some places do. The shrimp are huge and fresh and you don't have to worry about running out by the time you're halfway through the dish. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, everything I've tried is made with fresh veggies, stir fried to perfection. It's hard to decide between the lo mein and the rice noodles. The only dish I didn't like was the orange beef. The flavor was good but the texture was horrible! Had I known the beef was breaded I wouldn't have ordered it, the menu doesn't mention it. The result was a soggy, stuck together mess. I probably would have taken it back but I picked it up just before closing time. I put it in the fridge and it will be going in the trash. I'm not going to take off any stars for that because the rest of the food has been consistently delicious.
Food can be good...but is not always consistent. And if you call an order in, it will take twice as long as they tell you to make your order. So, if they say it'll be 30 minutes, it'll actually be an hour.
They serve good food. The lady up front is so friendly. I wish 😪 I could get some now. Anyone know when they will be open again?
