About China King

China King is a Chinese restaurant situated at 320 McGinnis Dr in Wayne, WV 25570. As a local Chinese Restaurant, China King aims to provide Chinese cuisine to the residents and visitors of Wayne. They can be contacted at (304) 272-6688 or via their mobile number, +1 304-272-6688.

Based on recent online feedback, customer experiences at China King appear to be mixed. One reviewer noted positive aspects, stating that the staff was polite and the food tasted great. They also mentioned that the buffet was not currently open, which could be a consideration for those seeking a quick meal. However, this reviewer did add that the food ordered from the menu did not take long to be served.

In contrast, another customer shared a significantly negative experience. This reviewer mentioned that their visit to China King was a "big mistake" after their first choice of a Chinese restaurant in Louisa was closed. They found the food at China King to be subpar compared to their preferred restaurant, specifically noting the absence of a hot bar, which made ordering noodles and rice for three children challenging, and even then, the order was reportedly incorrect. This customer also described the staff as less than friendly. Furthermore, they observed that the restaurant used paper plates and plastic forks for dining in, which, while not inherently an issue for the reviewer, gave them a negative impression of the establishment, especially considering there were very few other customers present. They expressed surprise that the restaurant was still open and suggested that reopening the hot bar, improving food quality, and using regular plates might attract more business. Ultimately, this reviewer stated they would not be returning to China King.

Considering these two recent reviews, there is a clear divergence in customer satisfaction. One customer found the food tasty and the staff polite, while another had a very disappointing experience with food quality, service friendliness, order accuracy, and even the dining ware used. The temporary closure of the buffet is also a significant point mentioned in both reviews, indicating a change in their service style that might affect customers who prefer buffet dining.

The environment of China King can be partially inferred from the negative review. The use of paper plates and plastic forks for dine-in customers, especially when the restaurant was nearly empty, suggests a casual and possibly cost-conscious approach to service. The lack of other diners during the visit also might indicate a generally quiet or low-traffic atmosphere at the time of that review. However, without more information, a comprehensive description of the restaurant's ambiance and decor is not possible.

In terms of services, China King offers dine-in options, as indicated by both reviews. They also appear to offer takeout, as mentioned by the negative reviewer who noted two takeout orders were placed while they were dining. The absence of a currently operational buffet is a significant change in their service model. The politeness of the staff was noted by one reviewer, suggesting a potentially positive aspect of their service, although this was contradicted by the other reviewer's experience of unfriendly staff.

Regarding features, the previous operation of a hot bar (buffet) was a feature that at least one customer missed and believed its reopening could improve business. Currently, a key feature seems to be their a la carte menu, although the variety and quality of the dishes available through this menu have been called into question by one reviewer. The quick service for menu orders was highlighted as a positive by another customer.

There is no promotional information available in the provided text. It is unknown if China King currently offers any special deals, discounts, or loyalty programs to attract customers in light of potentially low traffic and mixed reviews.

In conclusion, China King in Wayne, WV, is a Chinese restaurant that currently does not offer a buffet. Customer reviews present a mixed picture, with one praising the food and staff politeness, while another reports significant issues with food quality, order accuracy, staff friendliness, and the overall dining experience, including the use of disposable tableware. Local users considering China King may want to weigh these recent experiences and potentially inquire about the current menu, service style, and any changes the restaurant may have implemented since these reviews were posted.

The staff was polite and the food tasted great. The buffet is not currently open so that's something to keep in mind if you are in a hurry but the food really doesn't take long at all to come out.

We’d originally went to Louisa for Chinese, they’re closed on Tuesday, so we come here, big mistake. The food wasn’t good, nowhere near how good Louisa’s Chinese food is, don’t have a hot bar, so that was fun trying to order noodles & rice for 3 kids.. still didn’t get the order right, 🙄 But I kept my mouth shut, the lady wasn’t the friendliest, we toughed it out, they had paper plates & plastic forked for you to eat on & with. No I have no issue with either one, but I thought it made the “business” look bad not even having regular plates, there was absolutely no one else in there eating but us, & only 2 people got take out while we were there. I’m shocked they’re even open still. If they’d reopen the hot bar, get better food, & maybe some regular plates they’d have more business. We won’t go back!

My family used to come here often and the food was good and employees were somewhat friendly. I'm not real sure what has happened but the last several times we've come here for takeout it is absolutely horrible. The food tastes so old you can barely chew it and the crab rangoon has that awful taste like when something sits in the fridge uncovered and takes on the taste of everything inside the fridge and a couple times the creamcheese even tasted sour. The general tsaos and black pepper chicken along with the fried rice seemed rewarmed so many times that we were afraid it was going to break our teeth off. We thought we'd give it one more chance and go inside to eat from the buffet (hoping it might be more fresh) nope! The buffet is not even an option anymore and the employees are extremely rude and treat you like a huge burden. What a huge disappointment for our only Chinese option in Wayne 😞 we will just drive all the way to Huntington or Louisa from now on unless they make some major improvements here.

I eat here ever so often when I'm too tired to drive somewhere better, but Im going to give an honest review just the same. Years ago this place was really good. But now. This is arguably the worst Chinese restaurant in the tristate in terms of quality and taste. The food is consistantly worse than the other ones in our area. They also no longer offer dine in anymore, and the takeout is pretty bland and often tastes old. A lot of their food tastes like it came from the freezer section in Walmart if I'm being honest.

This place used to be as good as any other buffet. But over the past year Everytime I have went, every bit the food is so hard and dry that you can't eat it. (even the dessert)My 2 year old daughter bit into a pig in a blanket and said, " yuck, what the heck is that!" As funny as that is, it's ridiculous for as much a dinner buffet is. If your from around the area, do yourself a favor and drive the extra 20-30 minutes to eat a Chinese buffet in Huntington or Louisa. You'll thank me later!
