About China King

China King is a Chinese restaurant situated at 10239 Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights, Illinois, serving the local community with a variety of Chinese cuisine. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, China King offers options for both dine-in and takeout, catering to individuals and families looking for Chinese food in the Fairview Heights area. While extensive details about the restaurant's ambiance and specific services are not readily available online, customer reviews provide some insights into the experiences of those who have visited China King.

Based on the limited information available, it's challenging to provide a comprehensive description of the restaurant's environment. One reviewer explicitly mentioned that "the restaurant was filthy," which is a significant concern for potential customers. This suggests that the cleanliness of the dining area may be an issue that could impact the overall dining experience. Without further information or contrasting reviews, it's important for local users to be aware of this reported condition when considering a visit to China King for a dine-in experience.

In terms of services, China King likely offers standard Chinese restaurant fare, including a menu with a variety of popular dishes spanning different categories such as appetizers, soups, main entrees featuring chicken, beef, pork, and seafood, as well as vegetarian options and rice and noodle dishes. The mention of specific items like Crab Rangoon, St. Paul sandwich, and Wontons in one review indicates that these are part of their offerings. Another reviewer mentioned ordering Teriyaki Chicken, Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon, and Pot Stickers, further suggesting a diverse menu typical of a Chinese restaurant.

One of the features highlighted in a review is the availability of a St. Paul sandwich, which is a specific type of egg foo yung sandwich popular in St. Louis and some surrounding areas. This could be a unique offering that distinguishes China King for those familiar with or seeking this regional specialty. The fact that a customer specifically ordered it suggests it's a regular item on their menu.

Customer feedback on China King is mixed, with contrasting opinions on various aspects of the dining experience. One reviewer had a generally positive experience, grading their takeout order a "B+" and specifically mentioning the Crab Rangoon. They also provided a helpful suggestion to other customers to check their order for accuracy before leaving the restaurant to avoid disappointment upon arriving home. This indicates that while their experience was mostly satisfactory, there might be occasional issues with order accuracy.

In contrast, another reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with their experience. They reported a discrepancy between the online order total and the price charged at the restaurant, although they noted it wasn't a major issue. However, this initial disappointment was followed by more severe criticisms regarding the restaurant's cleanliness ("filthy"), the quality of the food ("terrible," "nasty," "soggy," and "SUBMERGED in sauce"), and the service ("horrible"). This reviewer specifically enjoyed the Egg Roll, Crab Rangoon, and Pot Stickers but found the entrees to be unacceptable and strongly recommended against visiting, urging the restaurant to improve its quality.

The stark contrast between these two reviews highlights the potential for variability in customer experiences at China King. While one customer found their takeout order reasonably good, another reported a very negative dine-in experience concerning cleanliness, food quality, and service. This makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment based on just these two accounts.

Given the limited information and the conflicting nature of the available reviews, local users considering China King should weigh these points carefully. The positive mention of specific appetizers like Crab Rangoon, Egg Rolls, and Pot Stickers might be appealing to some, as could the availability of the St. Paul sandwich. However, the serious concerns raised about the restaurant's cleanliness and the poor quality of at least one of the entrees are significant red flags that potential diners should be aware of.

As there is no information available regarding any current promotions or special offers at China King, local users interested in dining here may want to contact the restaurant directly at (618) 397-8888 or +1 618-397-8888 to inquire about their menu, pricing, and any ongoing specials. Due to the conflicting reviews regarding food quality and service, it might also be prudent to consider recent online reviews from other platforms if available, or perhaps try a small takeout order of specific items that have received positive mentions before committing to a full dine-in experience. Ultimately, local users will need to decide based on their own priorities and risk tolerance when considering China King as an option for Chinese cuisine in Fairview Heights.

My son and I wanted Chinese food today, 02-26-2025. And I really wanted crab ragoon and a plain St. Paul. My son wanted his usual, their Wontons. Showing a Picture of the Crab Ragoon below. Grade, B+...Suggestion only, check your food before leaving, see if your order is correct. That way when you get home, you won't be angry for not having what you paid for..

Online, the order total was listed as $38, but the total at the restaurant when I showed up was $40.11 (no big deal). However, that disappoint lead to several more: the restaurant was filthy, the quality of the food was terrible, and the service was horrible. The food (especially the teriyaki chicken to the left in the picture) was SUBMERGED in sauce and leaking everywhere. Everything tasted nasty and soggy. Unacceptable. Do not recommend. Please improve the quality. (I did enjoy the egg roll, crab rangoon, and pot stickers, but the entrees were terrible.)
