About China King

China King, a Chinese restaurant located at 1837 Homer M Adams Pkwy j, Alton, IL 62002, USA, serves the local community with Chinese cuisine. Patrons interested in their offerings can reach them via phone at (618) 465-8818 or mobile at +1 618-465-8818. As a Chinese Restaurant, China King offers a range of dishes typically found in such establishments, catering to the demand for Asian food in Alton.

The environment of China King is a significant point of discussion among customers. Feedback suggests that the establishment may not consistently meet cleanliness expectations. One review explicitly states, "The place is not tidy and kept. It makes you wonder how clean they are." This raises concerns about the overall upkeep and hygiene of the dining area, which could impact a customer's comfort and perception of the establishment. While the precise details of the interior decor or seating arrangements are not provided, the recurring mention of untidiness indicates that the restaurant's physical environment is a notable aspect that potential diners should consider. For a Chinese restaurant, a clean and welcoming environment is often a key factor in enhancing the dining experience, and the feedback here suggests there might be room for improvement in this area at China King.

Customer service at China King also appears to be a point of concern based on available reviews. One customer's experience highlights a perceived lack of patience or helpfulness from staff. Specifically, it was noted that a "customer did not understand the menus choices and the lady behind the counter seemed annoyed to have to help her." This suggests that the level of customer engagement and willingness to assist might not consistently meet positive expectations. In the service industry, especially within the context of a Chinese restaurant where diverse menu items might require explanation, attentive and friendly service is crucial. The feedback indicates that there may be inconsistencies in providing a welcoming and supportive interaction for all customers, potentially affecting the overall dining experience for those seeking assistance with their orders.

When it comes to features and menu offerings, China King has a notable standout: its "best crab Rangoon around." This particular appetizer receives high praise, suggesting it is a consistently well-prepared and popular item among their clientele. This highlights a specific strength of the restaurant's culinary offerings. However, pricing is another feature that customers have brought to attention. There are reports that "The prices listed online are not accurate. The prices are double- almost triple what they are when you order." This discrepancy between advertised and actual prices is a significant concern for customers, impacting their perception of value and potentially leading to unexpected costs. This pricing issue, coupled with the mention of a nearby "all you can eat" option for a much lower price, emphasizes a challenge related to perceived affordability and competitiveness within the local Chinese restaurant market. Therefore, while the quality of certain dishes like the Crab Rangoon is appreciated, customers should be aware of potential discrepancies in pricing and consider verifying costs before placing large orders.

Regarding promotional information, there are no specific promotional deals, discounts, or loyalty programs explicitly mentioned in the provided information for China King. The primary promotional aspect for the restaurant would likely be word-of-mouth based on its offerings, particularly the highly-regarded Crab Rangoon. However, the negative aspects highlighted in customer reviews, such as concerns about pricing accuracy, customer service, and cleanliness, could act as deterrents to potential new customers and impact repeat business. In a competitive market with other Chinese dining options, such as the "all you can eat just a couple blocks away" mentioned by a customer, China King's ability to attract and retain customers would heavily depend on addressing these areas of concern. For local users, the decision to visit China King might be influenced by a strong craving for their specific Crab Rangoon, but it would also necessitate considering the potential for higher-than-expected prices and a less-than-ideal service or environmental experience. Without explicit promotions, the restaurant relies on its existing reputation, and the mixed feedback suggests that managing customer expectations, particularly regarding cost and service quality, is crucial for its sustained appeal in the Alton, IL area.

The prices listed online sre not accurate. The prices are double- almost triple what they are when you order. Spent $45 for two when there’s a $14 all you can eat just a couple blocks away.

They do have the best crab Rangoon around. They also have one of the worst customer service. A custome did not understand the menus choices and the lady behind the counter seemed annoyed to have to help her. The place is not tidy and kept. It makes you wonder how clean they are.

Their wall Clock is set almost 10 minutes ahead of what my phone says so don't expect them to give you a lunch special if it's any later than 2:50. Have not eaten yet so I can't rate the food. Just got the food, they got the order wrong

These are the rudest people. I’m not sure why we keep patronizing them. Today was the final draw. They’ve already turned the place into a daycare. It looks a mess. There’s no way they are passing inspections the way that place looks. They have shower curtains hanging everywhere So that you can’t see them cooking in the kitchen anymore. The food was awful today. When we went in there a customer was there arguing with them, and of course, they act like they didn’t understand what she was saying and why she was upset But they understand what you’re saying when you place your order and when they take your money, I called and told them that whoever they have frying the chicken today they need to take them off because the chicken is always delicious but today it was awful. The girl at the counter said that the same person that Always fry the chicken fried the chicken as always. I told her and it doesn’t taste or look the same. She wanted to argue. I told her it’s too cold for me to come back out. I just want you to know that who’s ever back there frying the chicken you should take them off that duty because they’re not doing a good job. She hung up

This place does have some good items. BUTT the service sucks and they seem to be running some Type of scamming with prices always being different. I alway ask for my total before coming because honestly they ring in larger portions and more than you need without asking!!! And the restaurant is Dirty. For how much money this restaurant is making they don’t really care about what it looks like first impressions are everything and honestly all you see is dirty windows walls chairs and a card board separating the other side of the dining area!!
