About China King
Welcome to China King, a Chinese restaurant located at 178 E Market St in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category serving the local community, China King can be contacted at (724) 459-6590 or +1 724-459-6590. Recent customer reviews present a polarized view of this establishment, with one long-time patron praising specific dishes and another detailing a severely negative experience with customer service and food quality. Potential local users should consider both perspectives when evaluating China King.
Environment: The provided customer reviews do not offer any specific descriptions of the restaurant's ambiance or physical environment. One review focuses entirely on the negative service encounter and the quality of the food received for takeout, while the other positive review centers on the food itself. Therefore, there is no information available regarding the decor, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere of China King's dining area. Customers interested in dining in will need to visit the location to form their own opinion on the environment.
Services: Based on the customer reviews, China King offers takeout services, as one reviewer placed a phone order for pickup. The mention of arriving at the store suggests that they also have a physical location for customers to visit, implying the possibility of dine-in service, although this is not explicitly confirmed in the provided feedback. The negative review details a problematic experience with their takeout service, particularly regarding their communication and handling of a customer arriving slightly late for pickup. The staff member's behavior was described as rude and unprofessional. In contrast, the positive review, while not detailing the service interaction, implies satisfactory service over several years of ordering. This suggests that the quality of service might be inconsistent or that different customers have varying experiences.
Features: China King's menu includes standard American Chinese dishes. According to one long-time customer, their "crab rangoons are the best," consistently filled and hot. This reviewer also praised the "shrimp lo mein" for containing a good amount of shrimp. These dishes appear to be strong points for China King, at least for this particular customer who has been ordering for years and states that the place "never misses" for them. However, the other review offers a starkly different perspective on the food quality. The General Tso's chicken was described as "thrown together," leaking, and not evenly coated in sauce. This indicates a significant lapse in food preparation quality for this particular order. The contrasting opinions highlight a potential inconsistency in the quality and care taken in preparing their dishes.
A significant issue raised in one review is the poor customer service, particularly concerning the handling of order pickup times. The customer who arrived just a few minutes late was met with a "nasty phone call," public announcement of their phone number in the store, and a rude attitude from the staff member who reprimanded them for the delay. This behavior suggests a rigid and unforgiving policy regarding pickup times and a lack of customer-centric communication. The customer felt that an hour between placing the order and arriving was not excessively long, especially considering unforeseen circumstances like traffic and needing to stop for gas. The staff's dismissive and rude treatment left a very negative impression, overshadowing any potential positive aspects of the food for this customer.
The polarized feedback, with high praise for specific dishes from one customer and strong condemnation of both food preparation and service from another, makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of China King's features. While they may have some well-regarded menu items, the potential for poor food quality and severely negative customer service experiences are significant factors that prospective customers should consider.
Promotional Information: The provided customer reviews do not contain any information about specific promotions or special offers at China King. Chinese restaurants often offer lunch specials, combination meals, or discounts for certain order amounts or on specific days. To learn about any current promotions or deals at China King, it is recommended to contact them directly at (724) 459-6590 or +1 724-459-6590. Checking local online directories or social media platforms (if they have a presence) might also provide insights into any ongoing promotions.
In conclusion, China King in Blairsville presents a mixed bag based on recent customer reviews. While one long-time customer highly recommends their crab rangoons and shrimp lo mein, another customer had a severely negative experience with both the customer service and the quality of the General Tso's chicken. The rigid handling of a slightly late takeout pickup and the rude behavior of the staff member are significant concerns. Potential customers should be aware of the possibility of inconsistent food quality and the risk of encountering unprofessional customer service. If specific dishes like crab rangoons and shrimp lo mein are of interest, and if prompt pickup within their specified timeframe is guaranteed, some customers may have a positive experience. However, the negative review serves as a strong caution, highlighting potential pitfalls in both food quality and customer relations at China King.

Customer Reviews
I decided to give this restaurant a second chance from a year ago and it’s still Horrible customer service and the food is not very good. Make sure you’re there within THEIR time they give you or you will get a nasty phone call. I placed an order at 5:01 pm and was told 40 minutes. I will say it was a bit difficult to understand her on the phone. I arrived at the restaurant at literally 6:04 due to the roads not being the greatest, I don’t live super close and i had to get gas. As I was on my way into the store they were calling me and leaving me a crappy voicemail. When I entered the store she was announcing my phone number over and over again across the store. I said it was mine and got horrible attitude being told I should have told them I was going to be there then. I didn’t know it was going to take that long but it was literally only an hour. I apologized that I had to stop for gas and I live a bit from the restaurant and couldn’t get there in time, but I guess an hour was too long for them. She continued to give me attitude the whole time. I pay and she just turns her back to me without giving me my food. So I said something and got upset. I just can’t believe a place would treat customers like this. So just be aware. I will not be returning. As far as the food goes the general tso looked thrown together and was leaking out the side and all the chicken wasn’t even covered in the sauce. What an awful place they didn’t care how they treated or talked to customers at all.
Been ordering here for years! Their crab rangoons are the best. They’re always filled with the perfect amount of filling and are hot. The shrimp lo mein is also very good with a good amount of shrimps throughout. This place never misses!! 10/10
This was my first time going in the restaurant The guy working the counter was nice but the woman was rude I asked for lomein with chicken and beef and she cut in yelling that they don’t do that even tho I’ve had it before from ordering takeout with my work group so I ended up getting just some general tsos it was good but I thought my fortunes were funny one was only half and the other one should have been that woman’s fortune 😭😂
This is my first time ever being here and I got the crab meat. Lo mein it cost me about $10 and for the portions they give you a lot. The food is like every other standard Chinese place. It's pretty good. If you're around the area, I'd highly suggest getting something from them. They're really nice people.
I find this restaurant delightful. The workers are great and have always been so nice to me. The food I'd great. I have ordered for my family and with my work crew. The prices are fair and you get allot of food for the price. The Singapore mie foon is awesome.
